Loved this place! Super cute inside and outdoor seating with a fabulous view. I got the Moroccan spice iced coffee and it was really really good. Even though it had some sweet foam on top, it wasn't overly sweet and the spices were perfectly balanced. I drank it down so fast because I enjoyed it so much. The deluxe avocado toast was everything I wanted. Bread was soft, yet had a crunchy edge so it didn't fall apart when you picked it up. Everything tasted so fresh and presentation was spot on. I thought it looked a little small, but the portion was perfect and I didn't leave feeling hungry. It was the perfect spot for my husband and I to have a little morning coffee date. Looking at the menu, most of the drinks were very high in calories and expensive. The only one that really stood out to me was the horchata iced latte. It was light, not overly sweet, and tasted great. Overall, the experience was good, but I don't see myself coming back. While I enjoyed the latte, I don't think it's worth paying the high price for it again. read more

I got the best drink ever & a matcha latte. Bother drinks were pretty sweet, so if you do not like sweet drinks definitely ask for it less sweet. But the best drinks ever ws oretty good, i liked the vanilla flavor the matcha was pretty grainy. But they definitely did light ice (as we asked for) so that was good! Very nice location! It is walking distance to the ocean! The pastry was really good (we tried their pistachio croissant). The people there were super nice and helpful. The coffee itself is good too. They also have a good variety. In response to the district manager (Jon Angeles) asking for more feedback: Thank you for your response and for valuing customer feedback. I was 100% happy with the service and atmosphere, which is why I gave those categories 5 stars. My 4-star rating for the food and drink was based on a few specific details: The Coffee: While the coffee was good, I felt the bean quality didn't quite match the level of some competitors, such as Blue Bottle. I recognize this is subjective and a matter of personal taste, but I felt there was room for a slight improvement in the roast profile. The Pistachio Croissant: I found the pastry to be less flaky than expected, and I would have loved a bit more pistachio cream filling inside. I'm so happy Laguna Beach is getting some nice coffee shops as opposed to the big S chain! The staff here was so friendly and kind and coffee was solid. I got a seasonal pumpkin latte, which wasn't amazing, but it was definitely good. I'm going to try the basic stuff next time. The chocolate croissant wasn't bad but I'm definitely going to try some other items next time instead. The cafe itself is so cute and spacious. Not sure when this one open, but I was glad to see it. I saw that they had peppermint seasonal drinks, which I was excited to try. I asked about the seasonal drinks, and the cashier wasn't very helpful. Or she didn't have a lot to add about each of the drinks. She told me the white peppermint latte was pretty much the same as the best candy cane drink. Anyway, I ended up with the best candy, cane drink, which she told me it was basically an Americana and I got it last week. The store is decorated very cute. I enjoyed my drink as well. read more

Belated review: Over two weeks ago, I stopped in on Better Buzz's second day of business and ordered a toasted croissant sandwich with smoked ham and muenster cheese, and an iced pumpkin spice latte. An employee upsold me on an option for the sandwich, the addition of egg, which was said to only be available at the Laguna Beach location. I liked the sandwich and thought going for the upsell was a good choice. I was surprised on my first sip of the iced pumpkin spice latte. I had not been to any Better Buzz Coffee locations before and did not expect the drink to have a sweetness level similar to Dutch Bros. I would not order the drink again. The hubby liked his cold brew so that could be a possible choice for me to pair with a breakfast sandwich in the future. Getting the promo cup and sticker and being greeted cheerfully in a brand spanking new coffeeshop made for a good first impression. We were able to find a table and eat inside, which was nice. I had the 3-seed avocado toast (with chia, hemp, and sesame seeds, crushed red pepper and onion, lemon and microgreens) and the Mocha de Mexico. The avocado toast was really good --- lots of avocado with all the ingredients expertly used to create a very tasty, flavorful and filling toast. The Mocha de Mexico was a delicious -- a not too sweet mocha that was well made. The woman who served me behind the counter was wonderful --- friendly, helpful, a real gem. The ambiance of the shop was buzzy and relaxed. It was filled with people inside and outside (on the patio) which I like. It really felt like a community space in the best possible way. Wow had no idea the old BJs location would turn into better buzz! Location is awesome. Plenty of chairs inside including lowtops, high tops and chairs for lounging. They also have seats outside to enjoy the ocean view. The mocha was excellent. The Nutella croissant was very tasty with generous portions of Nutella inside but was not flaky. From Anays who greeting us with a warm smile and enthusiasm to try either a cold Matcha Latte Sample or there Laguna Beach Best Drink Ever cold coffee (or both), to the entire staff that said hello with an upbeat attitude approaching the counter. My best friend and I wanted to try something new so we both decided on the Moroccan Spices Iced Coffee (coffee nutmeg, cinnamon and clove)--which we both found very delicious and packed with caffeine to be buzzing all day. Inside Better Buzz Coffee is clean, bright and modern. Having Celiac, to be able to purchase pastries (and have a few to select) that are gluten-free/celiac safe would have made my experience a five star. Better Buzz Coffee is a very popular chain that is beginning to pop up in Orange County after its popularity in San Diego. I had the ones in San Diego a few years ago and remembered liking them, so I was excited to try out their new location in Laguna Beach. However, I was quite disappointed by the experience. The drinks were definitely the best part, but even then they just tasted ok. The food was extremely disappointing, as the 3 Seed Avocado Toast was under seasoned and not toasted. The Chili Crunch Breakfast Wrap was almost cold, and the tortilla was almost like cardboard. The service was good as the server was nice and helped us adjust the Horchata Latte as it didn't taste like anything when we first got it. The inside was nice, as there was plenty of seating. This place had opened about a week ago today. I went in looking for a coffee spot and this place looked good and popular. They have seating inside and out right in front of laguna beach. you can do homework there or get a quick bite too. they have a full kitchen so everything made hot is made there. the guy who took our order was very sweet and he offered us stickers and a free cup. I got a large blended mocha for $6.99 plus tax. highly recommend and the service and people were very friendly. read more

The latest craze in with buzzing lines out the door is Better Buzz Coffee Roasters. Usually, once I find a place I stick to my regular haunts but today opted to try this new spot. Jury is still out for me! Did not knock my socks off, but not opposed to trying again a different drink. If you want to check it, there's nothing that makes me say "don't come here" but I personally wouldn't go out of my way. It's about an average drink. Couldn't really taste the lavender. It wasn't a bad drink, it was okay! Plenty of seating if it's not full. Music and chatter are really loud on a Saturday morning so not the place you for a quiet cup of coffee. Im so disappointed with the customer service we were given when we went in today Saturday Feb 21 @ 7:03 . The lady at the register was so rude and had a nasty attitude ( she had a pixie haircut with blonde hair.) We ordered a banana pudding latte, horchata latte, and a snicker doddle latte and all were bitter and just not great. When my sister went up to the counter to ask for the restroom code the lady said "what do you want now". My sister didn't stoop to her level and still said thank you. I stopped by Better Buzz around 5:30am to grab a coffee before a road trip. The ambiance was chill (it was still dark lol) and slow, and the store was sparkling clean. The barista was very kind and friendly, giving me the low-down since it was my first time trying Better Buzz. I opted to try the Best Drink Ever (classic americano + signature creamy vanilla). The barista said that their vanilla powder is steamed into the beverage. I don't love a super sweet coffee so I asked for a single scoop of powder as opposed to the regular scoop and a half. The beverage tasted more like a traditional vanilla latte than an americano with creamy vanilla added. Maybe I missed something here. The other drink we ordered was their Snickerdoodle Latte (iced). The barista said this was their most popular drink, but it runs on the sweet side. I asked for half the sweetener. We were taken aback at how sweet it was, even with only half the sweetener! Because of the hype of BB, I was hoping to taste **quality** in each beverage, but it wasn't there. I think I'll try their brewed coffee or a plain Americano next time to get a fuller picture of their coffee quality. I was there visiting today Mar 8th, at 1:30pm. It was my first time using online order at this location, so I simply asked if my order had been received and was ready. The girl with dark hair looked directly at me, stared at me, and completely ignored me as if she didn't see or hear me at all. This was extremely rude and unprofessional. Basic customer service like acknowledging a customer or answering a simple question should be the bare minimum. The way I was treated made me feel humiliated and discriminated against. No customer should ever be made to feel that way just for asking a simple question about their order. This experience was unacceptable, and management seriously needs to train their staff on basic respect and professionalism. read more
