Outside resembled a small cottage while inside welcomed customers with warm lighting and floral deco. Their menu options range from brunch and dinner to dessert n sips! Several vegetarian and vegan options as well. FOOD: *Pizza primavera -- This pizza was smaller than expected, but so tasty! They gave small cups of olive oil and some sort of herb, but it was flavorful enough to not need those. A heap of vegetables on an even bed of sauce and thin crust. This was my first time having a cheese alternative and it was something like thin gooey goodness. Different, but definitely delicious and doesn't take away from the pizza experience. For the size, it's def more expensive than what you can get at Domino's or some other chain, but it was worth it for me because they slather on a fat layer of pesto that somehow doesn't make the dough tear from soggy-ness. *Caravan kale salad -- Huge heap of salad that has a nice balance of sweet and mildly sour. This is a filling entree salad for 1 and a nice side salad for 2-3. Pita chips were nice for variety in texture. The magic is in the dressing and slightly softened kale. Super refreshing and I'd like to try recreating it. *Urth Napoleon -- This was my first time having a napoleon pastry and holy crap it was amazing. The top layer seemed a bit silly for being removed like a lid pretty easily, but that near-burnt caramelized pastry paired really well with the cream. The cream in this dessert was better than Andersen's Bakery's simple yet iconic filling in the cream baguette. And that says a lot. Having this with a bit of coffee would be a good idea. CONS: Lots of pigeons who are not afraid to get all up in your business. Restroom I went in ran out of TP and it was pretty unkempt. Came out to Laguna Beach for a nice day and decided to try Urth Caffe. When entering, there was a huge line, very promising that the place was a good spot. You order first then find a table after with a table number. I went ahead and ordered a fruit smoothie with strawberries, watermelon and kiwis with their Egg Sandwhich. My girlfriend ordered their Prosciutto & Cheese Breakfast Panini with a Latte. While waiting for our food, we sat down next to three ladies who were talking to a worker about their drinks. From what I was able to listen to, the lady has a specfic allergy that she was trying to make sure her drink didn't have but the worker wasn't able to tell her a for sure yes that she was safe. He kept saying maybe and with the excuse of "we make a lot of drinks and sometimes they can get messed up. we just make sure to bring and make them to the right table number". Wow! That is incredibly dangerous and unprofessional. If you aren't 100% sure and it deals with an allergy, just offer to make them a brand new one! He apologized and the ladies seemed to be content by the end of their conversation but that is so unprofessional. Moving onward to the food, everything was good meal wise! Both sandwhiches were good and refreshing. My smoothie unfortunately lacked a lot of just flavor? Could be fruits weren't in season but either way dissapointed. The latte itself seemed a little bit watery in my opinion but it was fine and they do do latte artwork. The egg sandwhich was flavorful though with a lot of veggies in there and a side salad that helps and compliments the sandwhich well. I only took a bite of the panini but that was really good too! Later on in the day I wanted to try their Urth Acai Bowl and so we got one to share. It was very underwhelming with the main Acai not having much flavor at all. There is a very plentiful amount of fruits that were the only reason I was able to keep going but once I was out, I was done with the acai. I want to like Urth Caffe so badly and have been to their LA locations a handful of times in the past decade to say its overpriced and overhyped. I finally came back last Saturday to get a beverage to go just for the sake of it. I placed my order online coming back from Heisler Park. I decided to try their new affogato boba drink for $10. The order took about 15 minutes to be ready. I showed up at their pick-up window inside the cafe. It's a small area right beside the long line of people waiting to order to dine-in. My drink was smaller than expected. The boba was placed on top of the affogato and it looked sloppily made. Upon first sip, the espresso was strong which I loved. I stirred the entire drink and tried it mixed and it tasted better but was way too sweet. The boba was bland but had decent texture to it. I don't think I like the combination of boba and affogato together, it confuses me. The overall drink was okay and not worth $10. read more

The waffle was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. It was topped with plenty of banana slices and walnuts, and the side of syrup lets you adjust the sweetness to your liking. Will be trying their other waffle flavors! - sunrise pizza: 6.6/10. This is a very unique and interesting pizza idea as it is topped with breakfast toppings, but it was pretty average tasting. Too much cheese for my preference. - prosciutto and cheese breakfast panini: 6.3/10. I love how their sandwiches all come with a tomato dipping sauce. This particular one was loaded with cheese, not enough prosciutto/meat ratio to the cheese. The cheese has a very plastic-y texture. This dish is nothing special and wasn't very tasty. Very cheesy so maybe if you like grilled cheese you would like this. Their pastries are all what you would expect. Pretty tasty, can't go wrong with any of them. The fruit tart was particularly refreshing because all the berries they used were so sweet, and the pistachio croissant had a good amount of pistachio filling. I hadn't been here in a couple of years and the green tea boba is even better than I remember! They used to serve it in a huge tall glass but I kind of like that they're serving it in a smaller to-go cup now -- perfect for taking on the go if you didn't finish it. I also got the breakfast sausage and orange juice and it was the best I've ever had of either. Only reason I can't give 5 stars is because the line to order food sometimes goes out into the street and it's really hard to not get in people's way and vice versa. I feel like they should coordinate the line a bit better, maybe have it wrap around the side instead of going into the street. This place can get crazy busy- lines way outside down the stairs. The menu is inside but they have some print ones you can view. Its a massive menu- so its hard to choose. I got the margherita pizza- which was really good. The crust was crispy yet airy and the toppings were flavorful. My only complaint is I wanted more basil and maybe the tomatos cut up a bit more. My Poach Di Parma was good: a nice combination of flavors with perfectly poached eggs. The scrambled eggs I shared were well-prepared and the Urth Tiramisu was exceptionally tasty. This cafe offers an unusually wide variety of choices and I liked that. The only two things I found unsatisfactory on this visit were: 1. Our first visit was at their Orange location, which we really enjoyed, so when we passed by the Laguna location, we were excited to stop in for brunch before heading home. The food was good, classic brunch fare -- satisfying, but not quite as amazing as we remembered from the Orange location. The real reason I even wanted to write this review in the first place was to sh!t on one of their new matcha drinks called the Aloha [something]. I really wish I took a picture of it right when they served it because it looked so messy and colorful -- not in a good way, but in a wtf did I just order way. I remember it had strawberry purée and blue spirulina, so I thought it sounded interesting. It definitely was... just not in a good way. My first sip made me audibly Ew out loud. It tasted like pure syrup with zero hint of matcha. I even stirred it, thinking maybe I just got a bad few sips, but the entire drink tasted like liquid sugar, genuinely like diabetes in a cup. I'm not trying to be funny or dramatic, I'm being dead serious. On top of that, I was more than halfway done with my meal and had to go up to the register to ask for it because I guess they forgot to bring it out. Finally made it to Urth Cafe and can't believe I actually waited this long. It's as good as everyone says! We enjoyed brunch on a Monday morning, and the line was very short and quick to move. I am obsessed with the blended chai boba - it was so flavorful and refreshing and the boba was perfectly chewy. I also enjoyed the ham Benedict on the potato's and it had wonderful flavor and the eggs were perfectly poached. My party also loved the beef hash dish and their parfait - we left no crumbs behind. Came here recently. Had not been in several years. It's right on PCH, but don't expect a view of the ocean. It's pretty much open seating. First, though, you stand in line perusing the menu as you wait to order at the counter. Order, pay, get a number placard and find a table. I would suggest one of your party grab a table while you (and others) stand in line. If you order a coffee or similar, they will hand it to you at the counter. It will then be a balancing act to your chosen seat. Honestly, it's too much work for me. I like the old fashion "take my order and deliver it to my table" approach. Anyway, the food is ok. Interesting, but their omelets come with a green salad. If you want say potatoes instead, it's a $4 upcharge. I got the sausage and potato omelet and it was alright. Wifey initially wanted the huevos rancheros, but they were "out." Not sure how you run out of huevos rancheros, but anyway... Also, on regular coffee, you get one...one refill. You come for the vibe and because there's nothing offensive about the place but as far as the food goes, it's pretty bland and the service is not great either. We came on a Saturday midday and not surprisingly it was pretty busy. While you're waiting in line, you'll want to figure out you want to eat because once you get to the counter to order, they're pretty impatient regarding your order. They were pretty short and impatient, which, maybe if they're dealing with constant people they get annoyed but this is their job. We got a wide variety of food, the Diablo panini sandwich, a pizza, a Mac and cheese, a salad, and their chicken soup. We also ordered drinks which will take a VERY long time to make (we didn't get outside until we finished eating) so be prepared for that. My panini was pretty bland although the jalapeños were pretty spicy. The soup had a sour taste which I didn't like. The pizza was very average. The best part was the salad. A very good vinegarette albeit a little heavy and fresh ingredients. But otherwise it was a disappointing meal. My drink was the Japanese latte which, given they have Macha drinks, I thought this would be more like a brown tea but it was a green tea latte. Not great. This was my 7th visit to this location. It was last Sunday and we had guests from Montreal too. To make a long story short, food was cold, coffee was cold and the hot milk we had asked for arrived late, an order of pancakes was not ordered but got delivered and we got charged for it, and having out of town guests we chose to not cause a scene upon departure. Once I contacted the store the day after to let them know about the multiple issues we had dealt with (I provided them with full details and receipt # etc.), it took several calls and many days which resulted in further frustration on my part; two different managers decided since we hadn't addressed the issues on the day of the visit, Eurth Cafe in Laguna Beach was not going to do anything about it and it was too late to complain. Offering to buy us one drink if we went back was the best they could do at the end (such display of care and generosity!!) Anyhow, they'll never see us there again.
