Urth is a staple in my household and for good reason. This location is very reliable in regards to food quality, affordable for a close-to-beachside cafe, and encapsulates the overall ambiance of Laguna. Parking has never been super difficult for me, even on busy days. Lines never take too long and the self-seating is very convenient. I personally think having self-serve water is also very efficient and accessible. I ordered the Vanilla Ice Cream Waffle which was so delicious that it's become my frequent breakfast/brunch order. For the price you're paying, you're definitely getting more than enough portion-wise. The guests I bring here for brunch always enjoy the various omelettes offered. My loved ones that consider themselves connoisseur of coffee have always stated that Urth's lattes triumph over much of the coffee readily available in SoCal. read more

Worse guevos rancheros I have ever had. The worst part of it is they they were served on a stale tostada and they included additional stale tostadas. Terrible, Terrible and Terrible. It really doesn't take long to add an actual fried corn tortilla. A good tip for the restaurant give an option for a bit of spice not packages of tapatio sauce... In any dish the sauce makes the dish. Don't call a dish what it is not. That was eggs cheese and black beans with soy chorizo, which is not chorizo. Its flavored soy. TERRIBLE..... I initially thought Urth Caffe was unique to Laguna Beach, but it turns out there are several locations in Southern California. Known for its appealing aesthetics and appetizing menu, Urth Caffe has become quite popular since opening. This European-style cafe offers exquisite desserts in an aesthetic atmosphere, making it a must-visit while in L.A. Unfortunately, we had already eaten lunch before arriving, so we just had coffee and dessert. I ordered a Spanish Latte and Pistachio Tiramisu. Both were absolutely delicious, although the Spanish Latte was a bit too sweet for me. Watching other people's meals, the presentation alone made my mouth water. We came here around 11:30am on a Saturday. I was probably 6 orders behind. It gave me time to glance the menu. They have 95% of the seats outdoor and some indoors. The indoors have a homey appearance. Outdoors have the overhead heaters and patio heaters. So you place your order, take your number and find your table. I was too tired to decide which to order, and I saw this Urth cafe panini pictured in a frame. So went with that. It comes with a side of potatoes/salad/fresh fruit. Also ordered blueberry muffin, chocolate pistachio waffle (must order) and urth cafe breakfast (eggs, toast, sausage, bacon, potatoes and grilled tomatoes). Found an outdoor table and it had a nice view of the pacific in the distant. While waiting for our food to arrive, noticed trays that had thick slabs of bread a.ka. French toast. Seems like a popular order. There is a table with paper cups and a water dispenser. When the food arrived, it looked good, it smelled good and tasted even better. Food: so many great options for vegetarians! Salad was fresh, came with specialty fruit and nut bread. The huevo ranchero pizza was creative, delicious, and came out hot. Service: order and pay at the register, so expect minimal service directly at the table. Getting side plates from the kitchen was a little awkward, but cashier was friendly and helpful. Came for brunch on a weekend - line's long but it moves fast. You seat yourself with a number and the food is brought out to you. This time, the server brought one of our meals to the wrong table and we had to wait around 45 minutes from ordering it to finally be served :/ tough but you can only refire a pizza so fast. However, I will say that Urth has one of the nicest locations for a restaurant I've been to: nothing beats a waterside view and cute plants all around you. Prices here are a little on the steeper end for a brunch spot, but everyone was satisfied with their meal and had leftovers or a loosened belt. I'm actually surprised at some of the negative reviews for this place. I really don't think it's bad at all. Yes, the service can be slow and a little hurried but it's almost always packed here and there is always a line out the door during their busy hours (ie, 10am-2pm). I've tried their breakfast dishes, coffee, and pastries and I always think what we get tastes good and the quality is almost always consistent. I've also taken my in-laws here twice and they love it. Sure, there might be a place that is cheaper or better, but when I go to Urth, I just want to eat something I know will taste good and I don't have to wonder whether I'd like it or not. I don't think there has ever been a time when my husband and I go to Laguna Beach and skipped this place. Btw, try their cafe latte...it's yummy! read more

Reading these reviews, I can honestly say it is not exactly what everyone says. Food is great and yes it is pricey, but for the location and ambience, I understand why. Their paninis and pizza are good and I definitely recommend the Sunrise Pizza. We also got the green tea rose latte, which is a great choice for those who love not-too-sweet matcha and rose. The drinks took a bit longer than expected and I do wish they mix the matcha more as it tasted a bit chalky towards the bottom of the drink. Overall a cute little cafe to visit when you're near the beach or to show non-Californians in general. read more

The type of restaurant you go to for the ambiance more than anything. It's near the beach and has a lot of outdoor seating. They offer your typical brunch options like waffles and omelettes before 2pm. Service is simple. Order at the register and they bring food to your table. Food comes out decently fast for how busy the restaurant gets. Drinks were slow to arrive. Be prepared for a wait. We went on a Sunday around brunch time to a 30ish minute wait, but we were in the area all day and there was a line the whole time we went past it. read more

Cold, undercooked poached eggs - must be a thing the cooks can't tackle because someone had a similar review. The potato latkes tasted like undercooked, turmeric-laden hashbrowns. Salad with gluten free bread came out as salad with a gluteny piece of bread smack right on top, crumbs and all. I like Urth Caffe in Beverly Hills. This place is a mess in comparison. read more

Urth Caffe is a classic and delivers great breakfast and lunch fare as well as delicious drinks. Their matchas are a standout and their matcha tiramisu is the best thing they make. These two dishes (pictured) are two of my other favorites, the salmon benedict is my go-to and the butternut squash pizza is a wonderful creation. It is in a beautiful spot but there are two big detractors to the location. First, as you could expect, parking is quite tricky if it's a busy day. The second issue is that most of the seating is on their beautiful patio BUT IT'S OVERRUN BY PIGEONS. Over the course of a single lunch I saw four different people have pigeons land ON their food and have to have the food re-made. They are a big issue but there is not much anyone can do against them. They're confident and will fly right onto your table to take your food. read more

Loved it here! Usually very busy so must go into it knowing that. The line moves faster than you'd think though. The food is amazing! So so so good. Prices are what you'd expect for being so close to the beach but you can see them on their site before going. Their latte art is beautiful and I was very impressed. Three weeks ago my wife had coffee spilt on her legs and outfit. We never have heard back from people at urth, they are hoping that we just go away. Our meal was ruined, there was no attempt to comp my wife's meal, coffee or anything. No credit, just a form to fill out and sorry. This place is off out list, not only has the service declined but the food quality and the management. I'll keep you posted if anything changes on their end, until then avoid poor experiences like this place. read more

This caffe is the BEST. If you come here, you must try the avocado toast. The avocados are organic amazing and soft!! Not only they put a lot of effort into that avocado toast but they took there time! Bread was very soft easy to chew, and thick!!! This is the best avocado toast I ever tried. Totally worth the walk. The shop is simple and minimalistic inside, with a clean layout and a plant right in the center that gives the space a calm, relaxed vibe. Nothing flashy, just thoughtfully designed and comfortable. I ordered the iced Spanish latte and my mom got the iced chai. Both had an excellent balance of sweetness and coffee or tea flavor. Smooth, refreshing, and perfect for sipping while sitting on the sand. The workers were friendly and easy to order from, which made the experience even better. One thing that stood out to us was their logo, two hands shaped like coming together. In sign language, that sign means "connect," so as Deaf individuals, we immediately noticed it and wondered about the meaning behind it. It made the name "Rapport" feel even more intentional. Great drinks, welcoming service, and a perfect stop before heading back to the beach. We'd definitely do that walk again.

Interior is minimalist and clean. Baristas were all very nice. The cold brew coffee was one of the best I've had -- smooth, but robust, with a complex taste. AND it was under $5, which is a steal! I read that they roast coffees on site and I wouldn't doubt it! Unfortunately, while bean coffee was $23 for 200g, which is 7oz! My local roaster (Kean) would have the same price for 12oz. In their defense, they did have a massive bag that was $25. They had a bunch of great latte options, an espresso tonic, and tea options. They have pastries that looked delicious too. A great coffee and highly worth a visit!
