If I could give them more than 5 stars I would!! Service was great but the food... amazing! Flavorful without being over the top. Good portions and overall a wonderful dinner! read more

Wow, everything we had from the menu was delicious! I'm a carnivore and was in heaven with the wagyu corn dog, korean BBQ chicken lettuce cups, short ribs (slow cooked a few hours), whole snapper. Steve and Traci have knocked it out of the park with their recipes, love of good food and wonderful service. I'll be back in morning for coffee, also Steve's roasting creation. What a gem in Mammoth! Highly recommend! read more

Make a reservation now! Great service from a staff and chef who is happy to explain the dish being served and makes amazing food. There were three of us, which was great because we could order more food! The arugula salad was the perfect beginning, filled by cauliflower steak prepared in such a delicious way. We visited with the neighboring guests to get the hot tip on the cauliflower. Then we had lamb lollipops that were SO amazing with pisto sauce. Can't wait to try to fix that sauce myself, and chef Steve was generous enough to give me the recipe! On to the short ribs which were out of this world. The bread was a must. Had a nice, reasonably priced bottle of wine with dinner. An amazing espresso martini for dessert with chocolate cake, which we took about a third home. Can't wait to go back. read more

My husband and I visited from Vegas for the weekend and Ursa caught our eye! We couldn't have been more satisfied. The saffron mussels were fantastic. The lamb lollipops were perfectly cooked and had the best basil sauce I have ever had. (Had to ask for the recipe) The chef personally came out and explained every dish.. beautiful little spot! DEF coming back! read more

This was such a pleasant surprise! Fine dining with exceptional service. Everything was absolutely amazing. The short ribs were so tender and served in a flavorful au jus sauce. Steve the owner & chef greeted us warmly while explaining family style situation with the share plates. This being our first time, we had many questions for our server, Connie who graciously answered them all. The goods were all soo delicious and we left feeling full and satisfied. Glad we walked from the Airbnb to help us walk off our meals. Loved the menu! Will return for our next visit to Mammoth Lakes. Thanks! read more

Amazing, delicious food crafted with care! Owners are delightful and it's great to have such quality cuisine in Mammoth!!

Amazing local gem. Excellent presentation and taste, good wine list, and yummy desserts in a tapas style. Fine dining in a cozy cafe vibe restaurant. Would highly recommend! read more

I'm tempted, as a Mammoth resident, not to write a glowing review for the same reason that I never tell people about my favourite hikes. However, I will admit that the service is exceptional and the food is delicious and really interesting. I had to laugh at some other reviewer complaining that they were asked to leave because their obnoxious screaming children were being obnoxious and screaming. Wish more restaurants would do that. read more

Probably the highest quality and tasty food in Mammoth. Great fresh and home made food, perfectly cooked. Don't let the unusual ambiance fool you, they are a coffee shop during the day and a fine restaurant at night! The chef Steve is really nice and will answer any question you may have. Their eggplant dish was delicious and so was the lobster fettuccine! We highly recommend it. I would also recommend to book prior to come in. They don't have a lot of tables. We had a great experience! read more

Great food, loved the whole experience. The dishes were amazing and unexpected. Highly recommend.

It was clear that the chefs put effort into crafting the menu, making the dining experience feel more like fine dining, even though the prices were more affordable. The food tasted great, and the waitress was nice and polite. read more

This place is amazing, everything was awesome, Chef Steve was a delight! Can't wait to come back in a couple weeks!

I have been thinking about the Ursa Burger for one week now. The people want the Ursa Burger! It was such a treat to be able to see Chef Alex and Connie outside in the sunlight with some sweet tunes. I will come back every time the Burger is on the menu! read more

Incredibly chill with unbelievable food. Chef is magic and the staff unbelievable. It's a small place with great ambiance and food. We finished eating and chilled out in a couch to finish our wine. Ursa - The place. - Wine Bars Near Me - Mammoth Lakes, California

Incredible place for a date night. The food and service are top notch. Definitely going back

One of our favorite spots in mammoth! The food is very tasty and amazing service. We come every time we are in town!

We love this place. Love. The food by chef Al is always mouth watering and creative, the service is beyond friendly, and the ambiance is inviting. Connie, Janae and James make us feel at home and add so much to the experience. We visit Ursa twice a day every single day we're in Mammoth, and always have a better experience than we could hope for. We'll see you again soon read more

Phenomenal food and service. Need to get the short ribs! A new favorite spot in Mammoth for my wife and me.

Really excellent dinner with Chef Steve and Connie serving, each dish was delicious. A great addition to the local food scene.

Nice addition to the Mammoth dining scene. We tried the entire menu of the day. Everyone enjoyed it. Some unexpected flavors. Menu changes each weekend. I'm looking forward to what's in store for my next visit. read more

What a delicious and pleasant dinner surprise in Mammoth. Lovely ambience in this pop-up inside what is an awesome coffee shop by day. Highly recommend dining here. We were a family of five, all self proclaimed foodies and this dinner did not disappoint. We opted for all the dishes so we can try the entire menu as it is not that large. Perfect amount of food for us. I truly can't say there was a dish we did not enjoy. Daikon tartare and cannellini dip really stood out, as did the scallops. Everything was super yummy! The service was attentive, and the chef whom you can see right there in his tiny space doing his thing seems genuinely passionate and caring about the food he puts out. We will definitely be back here. We always struggle to find great food experiences in Mammoth, and this was a delicious one start to finish. read more

Truly amazing dining experience - I felt like I was eating at "The Bear" from the TV show. Amazing flavors (the duck fat potatoes were out of this world) on everything we ordered - the whipped feta, the short ribs, everything was incredible. The service was fantastic, with our food being served by the chef himself. Best meal we have had in Mammoth so far!! read more

Definitely the best meal we've ever had in Mammoth. Amazing experience. The food was wonderful and the owners were so kind and welcoming. The ambiance was great, very cozy. Highly recommend. read more

Ursa came highly recommended and it totally checked every box! Ambience meets that rustic yet refined definition and the food is top notch! The chicken with chimichurri was delicious preceeded by the prosciutto from the charcuterie menu. Top it off with a locally brewed Pilsner and you've got a perfect dinner! Super friendly and attentive service make you feel welcome the instant you walk through the door. Ursa is definitely worth a repeat visit! read more

This place was amazing! We had such a great time; not only enjoying the food, the whole evening was awesome. Connie was one of the sweetest, nicest people we've ever had the pleasure to serve us. The food was amazing, such unique and spectacular dishes. We ended up coming back a second time after we had dinner one night to introduce our friends to it. I highly recommend this place. I don't usually write reviews, but we enjoyed ourselves so much, that I felt I should take the time. read more

Delicious dinner at Ursa tonight. We had the turnip tartare, English peas and feta, ribeye and chocolate cake. The turnips and feta dishes were so unique and everything well executed. Service was on point and good wine selection to pair with the small plates. Can't wait to come back! read more

Finally, Mammoth has a sweet, cozy place to up your culinary experience. Exceptional small plates, nice wine selection, impeccable, friendly service and talented chefs. Everything we had here was delicious, the cauliflower tar tar was our favorite and the wine selection was great! Such a cool and relaxing atmosphere, mammoth is lucky to have this fun and unique spot, can't wait to come back! read more

We came in without a reservation and the host was pretty accommodating. We got seated after a table cleared up. Waited a little but that's our fault for not making a reservation. We ordered the Put al in the weeds and split it between 6 of us. We got all the appetizers first and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the vegan dishes. I especially liked the Moroccan carrot salad and the turnip tartare. The chicken was phenomenal. I love chicken but I'm partial to fried chicken. Though this was roast chicken I was not disappointed. Make a reservation. Go here. read more

Such a cute and fun place to eat! Chef Alex is so talented and the food is amazing along with the service. 10/10 would recommend.

This was easily the best sit down meal we have had in Mammoth (and we eat out a LOT). The flavors were fun and delicious and the turnip "tartare" was so clever - Chef Al is a wizard in the kitchen. The service was also amazing and the chef was very welcoming. An overall wonderful experience - we will be back and are looking forward to it! read more

I would have given this place a zero if I could. The food was horrendous, as they served us sardines out of a tin can and called it mussels. Furthermore, we ordered one of everything on the menu, and everything was terrible. For the rainbow trout, they served it to us in a parchment paper bag that they had microwaved. As for ambiance, they played loud rap music that contained several vulgar slurs. The location was hard to find too, because it was in a coffee shop. We were expecting a nice dinner where our family could talk without screen time but we were disappointed. read more

The food was delicious and unique for Mammoth. The service was great. The service staff was friendly and attentive to our needs but not overbearing. The ambiance was nice and fun. It didn't feel like we were eating dinner in a coffee shop. For the overall experience the price was great. I will be back! read more

Very cool intimate pop up spot. Super friendly staff. Creative menu! Highly recommend.

Wow. Family and I were in town last weekend visiting. We walked by an unassuming coffee shop, and noticed a disco ball spinning in the window. Looking further into the room, we saw it was FULL of people with wine glasses in hand and smile on face. We decided to head in and give it a go. We were informed by the lovely host (Carrie?) that they were finishing up a private event and would be opening back up at 6PM to the public. We decided to return after a short walk around the area. Upon arrival, the team had already prepared a table for us, and were quick and attentive to explain the way their menu works. The menu, they said, was written every week by the chef/owner Al. We decided to live a little and ordered one of everything from the menu. BEST. DECISION. EVER. Every dish that came out was incredible, leaning from the fresh and light whipped ricotta and pickled veg, to the heavier porchetta (sp?) with chicharrones from the market next door. But good god, the turnip tartare was without a doubt, the best thing we tasted in Mammoth. It seems like the chef knows his way around vegetables better than anyone else in town. The flavor was sweet, earthy, salty, and spicy simultaneously. If I ever find myself on death row, this is my last meal request. We will be back to visit every time we are in town. Thank you to the URSA crew for their hospitality, their amazing wine list, and thank you to Chef Al for the wonderful meal. read more
