Burrata
Lindsey T.

Great food and service! Came here on a weekday and it was still super busy! We were greeted warmly at the door and were able to get seated right away. The inside is cozy and there were outside seats as well. I really enjoyed my burrata salad, it was super fresh and the staff informed me everything is sourced from the local farmer market! The highlight of the meal was definitely dessert. We got the kunefe, which we had never tried before and was super unique! It is definitely a must try item if you visit

Recipe for two lunch ( sautéed lamb legs )

The is a high scale Mediterranean restaurant in the city of Los Altos . I love their interior decoration and table settings . Menus are extensive . It has appetizers, soup and salad , smaller plates like wraps and kabab skewers . It also has full entrees like lamb , steaks and branzino , spicy seafood paella. We ordered the fish and was told the morning delivery was not there yet . So we ordered two sautés lamb leg . Portions were generous and rich in flavor . Wonderful presentation and service. In the middle of our lunch , the branzino was delivered so I could see the fish plate of the table next to us ! Would like to come back to try the seafood paella ( spicy ) and the branzino . You can see red and orange Autumn from the big window . So beautiful! Happy Thanksgiving ! Yelp friends !

This place is central downtown Los Altos and a "hidden gem" - the restaurant itself is a good size, but they also have great outdoor seating (with heaters). Service is very friendly. The FOOD! Everything is very unique and well done. The flavor profiles are amazing. I loved the beef moussaka and it comes with rice to soak up the sauce. And try the kunefe for dessert! The description is so interesting, but it's really good. Also nothing can beat their pita and complimentary olive dip! It's a little pricey so I'd save for a slightly nicer occasion.

Came here on a Friday evening but luckily was a bit early so we were able to get seating outside since it was a nice September day. Staff was super friendly and attentive and offered to help us through the menu and offer suggestions. We ended up with the Beyti Kebab, which was excellent and glad we ordered it. The meat inside was tender and had a nice smoky taste to it. The lamb shank was fall off the bone as you'd expect it to be and the sauce was amazing as well. We actually liked the combination of the betyi kebab with the lamb sauce together. Gazpacho was an excellent addition as well since it was a bit warm out and really hit the spot. The bread as well as the hummus were great, especially the bread, so much so that we ended up asking for more bread to dip the sauces in! We have this on our short list of restaurants now to eat at in Los Altos and will definitely be back to eat through their menu!

Had a great dinner with great company here. We were a pretty slow bunch to order and eat so A+ for the staff being patient with us and still providing excellent service. I 100% recommend the cold appetizer plate if you come with a group! You get to taste a little bit of a variety of their dips, and can also combine them with your dish if there is any left over. I also highly recommend the chicken kabob entree. The chicken was soooo succulent and the accompanying rice and sauce were perfect. The only dish that was personally OK was the poached pear, but only because it had a strong tartness to it that I guess is normal for the fish but I just wasnt expecting for some reason. But still it was good. I will definitely come again sometime and try some of their other entrees :)

Came for Mother's Day lunch. They've got a nice shaded outdoor patio along the sidewalk which was really pleasant and comfortable. I'd say the food is pretty good here. Definitely reflects Downtown Los Altos prices, but I'd recommend it to a friend. Great: Octopus appetizer - while this was a small portion (as normal), they grill the octopus really well such that it is very tender. The smoky grill flavor really elevates it. High marks! Branzino - super tender grilled fish served with a flavorful mango relish. The arugula salad with almonds, dates, and couscous served with this dish was a really good complement. Eggplant Dip - essentially baba ganoush with smoked eggplant. Nothing super fancy but very good smoky flavor in there. Good: Combo Grill - this one comes with beef, lamb, and chicken. I thought the beef and lamb had good flavor, but were a little on the tough and dry side. Chicken was excellent. The almond rice this comes with was surprisingly REALLY good. Spicy Seafood Paella - not spicy at all, nor a paella in my opinion. This was a really buttery sauced rice with shrimp and mussels. Very rich and buttery. Ok: Falafel - standard fare, nothing extraordinary here. I'd probably avoid this one next time and try something else. Service was polite and professional. I think Urfa does elevated Mediterranean food pretty well. It's a little pricy and portions are on the smaller side, but the dishes are for the most part well done!

Had a chance to try Urfa Bistro last week which was a fun to try with friends. This is a Mediterranean spot with lots of choices and a nice comfortable ambiance. This spot is located in downtown Los Altos and thankfully there was plenty of street parking when we went. For food we tried: *Hummus - delicious *Falafels - yummy and crispy *Chicken kabob - juicy and liked that there were two different rice things to eat it with as well as veggies *Seafood pasta - this was a special and was made with squid ink pasta. There was plenty of seafood but felt the sauce was a little lacking in flavor. Nice portion of seafood though A little on the pricier end given the portions were pretty small, but the food was good and fresh.

Came in on a Sunday at around 1pm with a party of 2, and were seated immediately. The food here is fantastic! Hot, flavorful, and fresh. The highlight for me was actually the artichoke soup, which goes great with the complementary bread. Service was also another highlight. Our server was attentive and welcoming, and checked in with us twice during the entree. Great experience, 10/10 would recommend for groups, family and friends to catch up and hang out over a delicious meal.

Lamb Wrap

Beautiful outdoor ambiance near downtown Los Altos. Fresh, lamb wrap with ample vegetables was perfect for lunch. Ordered salad on the side and mint tea to drink. The salad was tasty and well-dressed. The mint tea was very pure in that it was actual mint leaves in the teapot steeping in the hot water, however if you're expecting a full-on mint flavor this is not that. Attentive, respectful service and for the area, decent prices. Worth it for the patio dining this time of year!

Kunafeh

This 5 star review is for just one dish I had today that was just perfect - Kunafeh. The kataifi was crispy and the cheese inside was soft and melty. The dish itself was the perfect amount of sweet without being overwhelmingly sugary. Garnished with pistachio powder and pistachios, this is the best THE BEST Kunafeh I've had in Bay Area

4.5 stars! Delicious Mediterranean food. Excellent service. Nice ambience. Dog friendly outdoor patio available with heat lamps during cold weather. Located in downtown Los Altos. Street, public lot, public garage parking nearby.

Still enjoyable, service good but food quality has dropped a bit. Grilled lamb kabobs were dry even though we ordered medium rare.

I don't know what the green sauce was drizzled ontop of the dolmas, but it was delightful. I _think_ it was some kind of pesto, but I'm not sure. The dolmas were perfection, and I even ate the lemon pulp with the green sauce because it paired perfectly. Next up, the omlet with the grilled salmon and fresh pita.. I don't know what the red spice was, but the flavor was perfect, the salmon was moist and tender. The cucumbers were just the right amount of crunch, though the tomatoes were a little overripe for me. My husband enjoyed it all though. The portions were perfect for splitting between the 2 of us. I paired this with the fresh brewed iced tea and it was perfect. This isn't a ritzy place, it's a nice drop in for casual food and chat. The seating outside has shade and comfy seats and they have bowls for water for your dog if needed. The service was good and the staff seemed hard at work and willing to converse with customers including us, as first timers. The owner was also present and was making conversation with guests too. We went when it was quieter a bit earlier in the evening but it got more crowded later. The crowd skews older. The menu is seasonal and they just changed the menu the week before we went. We ordered several appetizers. We had the bread service, where the focaccia was pretty good. The tomato salad was very good and tasted very fresh. Crab cakes were phenomenal. For our main courses, we had the squid ink spaghetti and the grilled duroc pork chop. All of it were very good. One of our party members is a picky eater who doesn't like spicy food, so they put less sauce on his pasta even though we never asked for it. For dessert, we had the opera and olive oil cake, which were all really good. I would like to return in the future. The food was very good and not as expensive compared to very similar options. We looked over our menu and had a hard time pronouncing and figuring out what to eat. Our server was so patient with us and explained the entire menu, also told us that he is Turkish and showed us how to pronounce some of the names and letters After much thought, we ordered the acili muhammara (peppers and walnut dip with pomegranate molasses) , Uc Borek (phyllo rolls with 3 type of fillings), and the adana platter (lamb skewer with sides). The bread basket that came with the pepper and pomegranate molasses dip very good, and it was a great start. The pomegranate gave it a hint of sweetness which balanced the heavier pepper flavor The uc boreks were flaky and crispy, and came out hot af. loved the zucchini and cheese filling! The lamb was full of flavor and came with rice and a Greek salad. That being said, the flatbread had a lot of oil, since the skewer was placed on top. The lamb itself was soft and had no gamey taste. The greek salad complimented and contrasted the heavy and rich tastes. We also ordered the pistachio kunefe and ice cream for dessert. The texture of the kunefe was delicious! I loved the stretchy sweet mozzarella and the crispy crunchy of the toasted phyllo dough. We got a side of mastic ice cream to go with the kunefe. slight licorice and herby taste. It was interesting but still good though Thank you Meyhouse for an awesome intro to Turkish food!
