French onion soup.
Ellen L.

It's not the transition French cuisine. Foods are not what you expected good. More of the American Italian taste. Not recommended if you're looking for a real French fine or country dine. Only French onion soup is closed to French style.

What a beautiful spot. My sister and I stopped in and were so surprised that it was all French focused food and bakeries in this area. The food was great and the coffee was delicious. The boutique hotel is gorgeous with the nicest restroom, felt like I was in France. Definitely worth a try.

Really lovely place for dinner on a Tuesday evening at 7pm. There was live music - acoustic guitar player. We sat outside on the patio next to the water fountain. Service is fast and friendly. The new ahi tuna nicoise salad was delicious! Huge portion of ahi tuna for $27, with white and black sesame seed crust. The egg was perfectly almost hard boiled. Others at the table enjoyed the half roasted chicken, the duck, and the seabass. Wines are a little bit on the higher end around $17-19 per glass. It's at the end of downtown Los Altos and part of a boutique hotel.

Wonderful place for girls brunch!!!! Dog lover, this place is dog friendly! Dogs and owners have great fun. Amazing service and we love the food. Everything comes on time. They are accommodating and help us move heater next to us since we sit outside. Tea they bring us extra pot of hot water. Lovely place to spend time with your girlfriends! I feel like we went to Napa! After lunch we hit cake place near by and enjoy more dessert. dishes we ordered: 1. Mushroom crepe 5/5 2. Crab Benedict 4.5/5 3. Duck confit 4/5 4. French toast 4.5/5 5. Smoke salmon Benedict 4.3/5 6. Omelette 3/5 Best thing: service service service! We 22% tip on top of service fees. They deserve it. They come check on us 3 separate times and all orders are correct, all requests fulfilled. They are friendly. Additional benefits to be there: That place we can be noisy but we don't disturb others. Talk about drink friends who talk loud. No one hear our secret jokes because it is outside and next to some traffic. The view is nice. Let me think of other occasions to come again.

Dined outside for brunch, delicious food and great service! This is the boutique hotel's restaurant and for COVID precautions we chose to sit outside. During lunch hours there were no sun on our seating area and the staff were nice enough to bring us two heaters. The brunch food was excellent. We love the benedicts as they were so well executed with the egg running down to the smoke salmon and crab cakes. The crab cakes tasted fresh, so is the crab omelet. The mushroom crepe is also delicious as it has a good amount of fresh mushrooms and spinach. Service is great and patient with us, what a perfect lunch! Dog friendly as well and the inside of the hotel was elegantly decorated, making a restroom run pleasant. We only wish they have a big enough table cloth for our big table of 8. But for our party, they didn't even add on the mandatory service charge, we of course happily tip over 20%!

We had Easter Brunch and opted to sit outdoors as the weather cooperated. Staff greeted us immediately at reception which is the quaint lobby of the En Chanté Boutique Hotel. We ordered a bottle of their sparkling rosé and the duck croquettes to start. Both delivered right away but we didn't taste any duck but more potatoes - flat. Our meals; salmon Benedict, salmon omelette and croissant au salmon - all decent serving portions and not too bad flavors but nothing outstanding. Our server Kevin was pleasant and attentive. As other reviews have stated, street traffic makes conversation tough - even on Sunday. The restroom is clean and decor depicts one from a country chateau. Sadly I wouldn't return unless something on the menu stands out. 3stars for food 4stars for ambiance 5stars for service

I was taken here as a surprise for my birthday. The place is very cute but service was a bit slow. I am hoping that service was slow because they were getting use to the outdoor dining. They may have had more reservations than they expected but I should t make excuses for them. Food was decent but this is not on my list of I have to go back there.

Best restaurant I've ever been to in my life!!!! I love French cuisine. Been there several times this lifetime. Can't wait to visit again and stay longer. Chapange One Main is top notch and ahead of it's time. If I could duplicate this place in every city and hotel I visit then I would.... The brunch was fantastic from the eggs, to the bacon, and the home fries plus the toast. Grand American Feast! God Bless American and its supportive countries. I'll be back for more fanfare cuisine and radiant decor.

Absolutely beautiful decorations everywhere with a great selection of delicious foods on the menu. Beautiful tables and seats. Atmosphere was very inviting. I didn't make it in time for breakfast, so I decided to dine inside for lunch. No waiting on a weekday morning. Excellent staff service. Waitor was friendly and attentive. Waitress was multitasking. Definitely clean and organized inside. Customers were visitors from out of town or on business trips or staying at the hotel. They were all very conversational and friendly. I was warmly greeted and selected my own seating since they were not busy. I ordered crab cakes which came with the huge green salad and a perfect French onion soup for dining, and then a mushroom crepe for takeout. Ingredients were very fresh and yummy. Everything tasted authentic and for a moment, it felt like a little warm escape to France again. Total was over $60 and I still tipped them at least $10 because they deserved it. Portions were very generous. It was a very stress-free day and I found easy free public parking behind the hotel building. Foods were flavorful and it felt very colorful too. I was enjoying the French poster on the wall next to my table. Everything was excellent. There wasn't anything I disliked about being there. I would still want to try the breakfast next time. Highly recommended.

Looks good but nothing special!

The ingredients were fresh, beautifully balanced, and honestly so good I considered ordering another round. The bread was solid too -- perfectly crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. We tried a range of dishes and everything delivered. The omelette stuffed with shrimp was generous and great value, the French onion soup, mussels, and entrecôte were all absolutely spot on, and the chocolate mousse to finish was delicious. Next time, I'm definitely coming back for the soufflé. Even the fruit bowl stood out -- you could tell it was freshly cut, with each fruit tasting crisp and distinct rather than blended together. It's those little details that really show care. The space itself is charming and cozy, with a lovely French ambiance. It's a medium-sized restaurant , with additional outdoor seating, and a decor that makes you want to linger. What really stood out, though, was the service. Absolutely top notch. You can tell the staff and chefs genuinely care about what they're doing -- and that makes all the difference. Honestly, I'm surprised it wasn't more packed -- it deserves to be. We'll absolutely be back to explore more

The staff were warm and nice and I liked the ambiance of the restaurant. I ordered a coke to drink and my partner had a French beer. We proceeded to order the charcuterie and french onion soup for appetizers and the duck breast and french burger for entrees. The soup came and it was fine- it tasted like french onion soup. The charcuterie never came; I guess they forgot to put the order in or forgot to make it. It was awkward just sitting there starving while my husband ate his soup though. We figured maybe they were bringing it after he finished the soup so there'd be room on the table but nope. The burger looked nice and was cooked to the ordered temp of medium rare. Otherwise it was like any other burger anywhere else, not overly special. The fries were crisp and well salted. The duck was underwhelming. It's $38 for this plate of food and it came with totally flavorless and dry mashed potatoes, whose texture was akin to boxed potatoes. No butter or cream flavor to speak of. The vegetables were so disappointing. They had no seasoning whatsoever and were as soft as baby food- I am not exaggerating on that. I was surprised by how mushy the carrots were. For almost $40 I expect more exciting veg than broccoli, cauliflower and carrots all steamed to death. The duck was okay. There was a large tendon running through the middle of every piece and I could only eat half of it due to gristly fat. The port wine reduction that covered it totally masked the flavor of the duck. All I tasted was soy sauce. We let them know about the missing charcuterie to make sure it was not included on the bill. Other small things that detracted from the experience included them never clearing any dishes from the table (like the basket from the complimentary bread, appetizer plates or the huge wine glasses that neither of us needed) and not checking in on us to see how everything was going. The table was so cluttered it was hard to eat. It took a really long time to get the check and was so uncomfortable just sitting there obviously done with our food. For the prices charged I expected a higher level of service that was blatantly absent. Overall will not return. Over priced, slow, bland food.

We came on a Wed night and it was slow. There were a total of 3 tables and one waitress. She was great but she was one person so expect services to be slower. There's no fancy plates or wine glasses, just solid French classic dishes. Our appetizer were great, good salad and very yummy French onion soup. For entrees we got the pork tenderloin and chicken cordon bleu. Chicken cordon bleu was really good, pork tenderloin was ok. Not bad but also not memorable. I will get the chicken next time when I come back. House wine was $10 a glass and it was a generous pour. Simple, pleasing CA cab. We got the cheese cake for dessert and that was only ok. I wouldn't get it again.
