The kabobs were just ok got the chicken plate with 2 sides and shawarma beef à la carte that came with pita bread. Mediterranean Grill House had a BOGO deal on Uber Eats so we decided to go check it out! Ordered Dolmades and two falafel wraps for pick-up and food was ready within 20 minutes. Friend also ended up a side of potatoes! Some indoor and outdoor seating available. Dolmade (5/5): First time trying dolmade! It is essentially vegetables wrapped around a leaf - it was a nice refreshing way to start off the meal. Falafel wraps (5/5): This was great! I tend to find falafel wraps to be very dry but this had a good amount of tzatziki sauce and also hummus, which I appreciated because that usually costs extra. Everything tasted flavorful and fresh. The portion size was pretty big - ended up splitting the wrap into two meals. Friend liked the potatoes! Said it was well seasoned. Mediterranean Grill House shares a space with Sana'a Cafe, who provides coffee, Yemeni specialty drinks, and pastries. I came here on a Groupon. Their space is actually decently large, with good patio seating in the front. They are located near the end of the Castro strip in Mountain View, so parking is a lot easier to find here. Plate meals allow you to pick two sides (except the three meat combo plate, which is choice of one side): hummus (could use more lemon and seasoning, but has interesting smooth mashed potato texture), garlic potatoes (small pieces of roasted potato in a wet garlic sauce), baba ghanoush (smooth and good), cucumber yogurt salad (fresh chunks of cucumber with mild yogurt, surprisingly unique), tabbouleh (tastes like my favorite kind of tabbouleh with perfect ratio of bulgur to parsley and green onions, well chopped), and Mediterranean salad (so healthy and fresh). With your meal, you get some quarters of toasted flat pita bread and a side of tzatziki. You can also have the option to grab your own water and bus yourself. Depending on the meat you order, it can take up to 15-20 minutes to prepare, but time passed by quick while watching all the hustle and bustle of the Castro strip. - Chicken Shawerma Plate One of the better chicken shawermas in the bay! The chicken is really tender and seasoned well, and there are some bigger juicy pieces. There was basically more chicken than rice! - Lamb Kebob Plate Huge chunks of lamb kebobs over a large mound of moist rice. We like to request it medium rare, and they cooked it perfectly medium rare. I think they pair perfectly with the garlic potatoes and a salad. - Three Meat Combo Plate It comes with a chicken skewer, kufta, and choice of shawerma (I chose beef which had thicker pieces, though I liked the chicken shawerma better). The chicken kebab came as huge pieces of breast meat. The kufta was the best meat out of the three, as it had really good flavor and tasted freshly ground. The imported Dubai chocolate was a bit sweet for my preference, but it's not their product so that's fine. Tons of takeout orders were going out to locals and employees, and it smells good near their pickup window. I can see why they get good business, as the owners and employees are very friendly, hardworking, and passionate. I had an issue where initially, the food wasn't prepared the way I wanted, and they prioritized my enjoyment. If I still lived near Castro, this would be a frequent meal for me - I love how everything tastes really healthy and fresh, is seasoned just right, and with really fair pricing. I wish they had air conditioning inside for hot days - otherwise, the inside is a pretty cozy place to sit down! I hope to visit again soon to have some sweets and drinks, as well as the okra that was recommended. This is now one of my favorite Mediterranean places in the entire bay because of the chicken shawerma, kufta, fresh sides, and hospitality. read more

Found a good Mediterranean spot in downtown Mt. View. I think it;s relatively new. I don't remember seeing it before. I had the Chicken Shawerma Wrap, which was like a Mediterranean burrito. It was very, very good. The chicken had a great flavor, different thna Mexican, but oh-so-good. I am a fan for Shawerma Wrap. I will try the beef next. I came here for a late lunch with my fiance. The interior is beautifully decorated and has both booths and tables. There are also a few tables outside. It was steadily busy the whole time we were here. Despite being busy, all of the employees were friendly and helpful. I ordered the kofta kebab plate with hummus and salad. My fiance ordered the chicken shawarma wrap with a side of falafel. We also ordered a watermelon mango refresher. The refresher was perfectly sweet and tasted like actual fruit. My plate was delicious. Everything was great on its own and even better together. My fiance enjoyed his wrap, but said he would order a falafel wrap next time because the falafel was that good. They were super light with a nice crisp. The side of falafel also came with some pita bread. We also ate everything with the spicy sauce (found near the utensils) and really liked it. Good flavor and spice. Before we left, we also decided to get some desserts and an iced adeni chai. The adeni chai had a nice cardamom flavor. We tried the honey comb bread, and it was delicious! This place has good vegetarian options. The chicken plate was fine for $15 but the okra plate was very good. Yogurt w cucumbers very fresh. Hummus was good, but not like most restaurant hummus. it was more fatty and sour than creamy (if blended for longer, would have been more creamy) so it was good w rice instead of pita. It's in a nice location in downtown Mountain View. We ordered a pot of Adeni chai to share along with falafel and hummus. The falafel were a good size and delicious. The hummus was one of the best ones I've had and the portion was also pretty generous (though we agreed it could've been served with a little more pita bread). The tea was alright. I did like that they have the option to serve it with sugar on the side instead of already mixed in. Another perk is that they have games like Jenga, Uno, and dominoes available. There is street parking and an underground lot behind the Wells Fargo shared with St. Joseph Church. There is an order counter with a menu board above. I ordered the Lamb Kebab, medium rare, plate with Hummus and Garlic Potatoes. I was given a number stand to place at my table and waited a short time for my meal to be delivered along with 4 quarters of Pita bread and Tzatziki sauce. It's a clean table and chair interior for about 30 people. There is dining outside also. My four large lamb cubes were mostly medium rare, lightly salted and with Mediterranean spices. The long grain rice was very good, soft and moist. The Hummus had good lemon and Tahini flavor and the garlic potatoes were soft and mildly flavored. The Pita bread was warm and soft. Everything was delicious, quality was very good and quantity also, I took most of the bread and Hummus home. Service was prompt and helpful. Definitely repeatable. Your clothes and hair will acquire the grilled meat odors, the grill and dining area are not separated, be warned. read more

Stopped by for lunch using a Groupon. Service was slow. Wasn't even sure if anyone was working with all the furniture piled up getting ready for a tea and coffee business opening. She finally came out and initially told me that in order to use my $20 Groupon, that I would need to spend an additional $20. Really!!! I really love this place. I've been coming here for years, and I actually haven't tried any other Mediterranean restaurants because I don't want to be disappointed when I know Mediterranean Grill House is excellent! I always get the chicken schwarma plate with the cucumber salad and hummus. I love all of it, and really love mixing the hummus with the chicken and rice. It comes with a yogurt dressing that is fabulous. This is a family-owned business and they've lost a lot of customers since work-from-home policies were instituted and the local businesses moved away from Mountain View. I would love to see Mediterranean Grill House thrive because the owner and his family are great people who simply love to share authentic mediterranean food with the people of Mountain View. One of the big issues is that the falafels were pretty rock hard - not pleasant to eat. Not too tasty either, but that impression may have been colored by the petrification. The Mediterranean salad was kind of just there, the dolmas were probably the best thing, and the potatoes weren't bad either - though my wife didn't care for them. The pita bread was fine, but the hummus and babaganoush were just okay. We were quite hungry, but it didn't really hit the spot unfortunately.
