If you're a die hard butter chicken fan come here and stick to your guns and get the main premium butter chicken plate with naan since that was the best item we had shared. Other items we had were the chili paneer rolls which were very average, and too sweet, the chicken kababs which looked pretty but tasted quite bland (the chutney and the onions saved the kebabs). It had dark chicken meat in big chunks which were tender. The garlic naans have visible garlic on them but not as garlicky as it looked. Butter Chicken Social was sooooo cool! After a cycling class in downtown Sunnyvale, a close friend and I decided to try this place, which is only 5 minutes away. This place appeared on my radar by the power of Tik Tok. The venue has ample guest parking and is part of a larger plaza behind it. The interior is well furnished with cushioned seating and chairs. The dining room is spacious and sleek in design. We entered around 8 pm, and there were only 2 other diners already in the restaurant. I decided to order 3 items: Masala Fries, Boba Mango Lassi, and Butter Chicken with Naan. It was around $30 for dinner. After 10 minutes, my food was delivered to my table. They have cutlery and napkins at each table and jugs of water near the cashier. The Masala Fries were what I expected- crunch, crispy, and well seasoned but not too salty. The Boba Mango Lassi was good, but it wasn't that chilled to my liking. The texture was smooth and creamy, and the pearls in the drink were chewy and fresh for sure. Great way to balance out the saltiness! The butter chicken had a beautiful color with deep hues of brown and other sauces mixed in. The chicken pieces were good portion sized and cooked well. My rec is to drop the boba. It was mushy and an unnecessary add-in since you can find boba everywhere in the area. Alternatively, I think basil seeds would work better. Came across this new restaurant online and decided to try it as we were looking for a Friday night dinner but nothing fancy and just good food. The reviews on YELP looked very interesting and the pictures looked great. We arrived around 6PM and the restaurant was not too busy. Extremely clean, polished and looking sparkling new dining area had a few tables occupied. You order at the counter and as the restaurant name suggests, everything (expect some vegetarian options) is based on chicken. We opted for a fried chicken sandwich, butter chicken meal and butter chicken nachos. Tried a sample of the chai tea, it was amazing but I didn't want anything too sweet with dinner. So passed on getting a chai... The food was served very quickly, the chicken sandwich was moist and crunchy with great flavor, it was served with a side of fries. The nachos were just amazing, the chips were nice and crunchy, the chicken was extremely soft and the flavor was excellent. We tried the BCS chicken sandwich (regular), BCS wings (5 count with schwan sauce), and boba mango lassi. Our total for these 3 items came out to be over $40 including tax and tip. Moving onto the food itself. The mango lassi was delightful and I loved that it wasn't overly sweet; however, it is $8 for a medium sized cup and I wish it was a bigger size for the price. The chicken sandwich and wings were both super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the sauce on the sandwich definitely added a unique and flavorful twist to your average chicken sandwich. The wings came out fresh and piping hot which I appreciated (since it did take a while for them to be ready), and the schwan sauce gave a bit of a kick to the dish. You order at the counter first and then you get a number to put on your table, so they'll bring the food right out to me. I got the BCS Chicken Sandwich which was like a fried chicken burger. The chicken part was good but there was too much breading. I had lots of the fried breading just fall off (with no chicken inside) that I didn't bother eating. Would prefer if there was an option to get the mango lassi without the boba in the future. I really REALLY really liked the garlic naan. I'm a simple creature, I guess. I also got the fries but I finished my whole meal and it didn't come out yet. I had to ask the counter for it and they were surprised it didn't come out yet either. It's okay, I was pretty full and I got the fries to-go. It came with some desi ketchup that was pretty good. But, the fries are nothing special - I'd recommending skipping it. Portion size is small for a full plate/entree and it's on the expensive side considering the food quantity and menu item price. My friend said that the chicken kathi roll tasted good but he was still hungry. It was not a good value for money. Paneer Kathi roll also tasted delicious for the first few bites and then it started tasting greasy and heavy very soon. My friend and I got the butter chicken bomba, chicken tikka & jack cheese kulcha, masala fries, and the bcs hot chicken sandwich, along with a side of their curry mayo. The bomba was interesting in concept but lacked some flavor and was a bit bland. The kulcha was super tasty and hot, loved that it was super stuffed and the chicken in it was tasty! The hot chicken sando was our favorite item we tried, so flavorful and had a nice little kick to it, the masala fries were also very tasty and paired really well with the curry mayo. The sauce is a butter chicken sauce. The insides of the momo were stuffed quite generously and the inside filling was quite spicy! The ambience is really great, but the great things stop there with this new place. We came across BCS on social media and went there to try after a long day of work. We got the jackfruit sandwich and the BCS sandwich. Both were neither good nor bad. And after they turned cold, I definitely lost interest in finishing the food. It's very average food, but being sold in a fancy new restaurant. The restrooms were the cleanest I have seen. But they need to actually focus on the food if they want to stay in business. I love indian food and wanted to see what this was all about. they are going for a fast casual and mass market appeal type of indian food which definitely has its niche. i tried: masala fries - wedge fries with their own masala blend (masala means spice). these were good. i would have preferred if they used cross-cut fries or normal fries instead, however, as my only complaint is my complaint for all wedge fries, which is that they are often not crunchy enough, and sometimes they can be too thick and and starchy dosa batter cauliflower - this is like a gobi manchurian or a gobi fry if you are familiar with those. basically, battered cauliflower and then deep-fried. i enjoyed these, although not my favorite version of these. i like it when the gobi (cauliflower) inside is gooey tender to contrast with the crisp of the outside batter. outside - crispy, inside - gooey. these were not quite at that level of tenderness, but this is probably a preference, as their version was still good and not undercooked. the spices on the outside batter were perfect (probably a bit spicy for non-spicy eaters, but i thought they were perfect level of mild heat) butter chicken rice - this was supposed to be the highlight of my meal, but was actually my greatest disappointment. given the name of the establishment, i would expect their butter chicken to be transcendental. i did not transcend. first the good - the chicken was very tender and could be cut with a spoon or fork. however, the sauce, which should be rich and creamy, felt thin to me, with not much depth of flavor. it is very tomato forward, but then nothing after that forwardness. i expect my butter chicken to hit me with waves of flavor - first the tomato and acidity, then hopefully several notes of spices, with a long creamy finish. this was not that. read more

It was a rainy night and inspite of it the place was buzzing. It seems to have gained popularity pretty quickly. I placed an order for the premium butter chicken with naan, obviously, duh. And decided to try the jackfruit burger as well. For the third item I asked the lady at the counter for her suggestion. Consider this a pro tip, always ask for a suggestion for their best item, in most cases you might get a generic answer of "everything is great here" and in other cases you will hit a gold mine. In my case I was recommended the kerala fried chicken, it turned out to be the best dish of the evening. Kerala fried chicken: 5/5: highly recommend getting this, the chicken was melt in the mouth delicious with a delicate balance of spices. It's not your regular fried chicken with a heavy batter weighing it down, there is batter but just enough to provide a nice texture. Nostalgia hit me hard. Growing up my dad used to return home late in the evenings after a long day at work and still managed to drive us down to this cart which served the most amazing pepper chicken that we used to chow down in the car while watching the rain through the windows. This chicken was as delicious as that pepper chicken I had decades back. Butter chicken: 4/5: now their namesake dish better be the best out there, after all they have a limited menu and most items are centered around this. The dish is good, hit all the right notes including being a little sweet, definitely had heavy cream. For most it might seem obvious that butter chicken ought to have heavy cream but the heavy cream we get here is not typically what gets used back in India. Though the version here is good, it's definitely not the best I have eaten even within bayarea. Naan: 5/5: we got a naan with our butter chicken plate. Note that atleast two naans are needed to clean up the dish, so definitely order an extra naan. The naan itself was bang on delicious, buttery, no burnt spots, not too thick, decent sized, no complaints. Jackfruit burger:3/5: I ordered this dish for the novelty of it and in my quest to try something new. There were no sides, read fries, to overwhelm the dish. It came with a single sauce on the side. I was expecting the patty to be atleast 50% potato but to my surprise atleast I couldn't taste any potato. But the overall burger was disappointing for a myriad of reasons: a full bite was too mushy, there was no, for the lack of a better word, structural integrity. The bun was obviously soft, the center patty was soft, it was crispy on the edges but not enough to carry it through. The burger relies heavily on its star the jackfruit and doesn't complicate it with other toppings but the little cabbage that they used provided a much needed crunch. The burger was spicy and heavy as well, the sauce on the side was also heavy ( seemed to be some mayo with hint of mustard?). It would have helped to have a lighter sauce. Prices might seem a bit high but I think they are reasonable given the fact that they have a decent ambiance, interesting serve ware (thank you for not using plastic). read more

My family stumbled across this place when trying to find a place to grab a casual dinner and we were excited once we saw all the pictures. Indian chicken sandwich and Kerala fried chicken? Sold. I ended up ordering the sandwich and my Dad got the Kerala fried chicken. The chicken was okay, but it felt like it was missing more flavor or sauce. I also ended up eating some of my nephew's nachos and I thought those were slightly salty, but not bad. The Kerala Fried Chicken was probably the best item we ordered and we did enjoy how they fried the curry leaves in the dish. saw this place while driving down and came back with the family a few days later. They have a new concept of americanized indian food. The ambience is great and probably is a rebuilt taco bell or some fast food restaurant as there is a drive thro. there are a few vegetarian options but largely make for the chicken eaters. I tried the jackfruit burger and the family tried the chicken burger and the bao. the jackfruit burger came with an interesting sauce. the patty is crisp and will make you feel full. Also it is not a store bought patty. service is really fast, you order at the counter and it gets served at teh table. the plate are interesting. for folks who grew up in the india in the 70s and in the south , it may bring them some memories. Definitely a good experiment that is being executed well. Will go back to eat again for sure. We ordered tikka masala, butter chicken, rice, and naan! I wish they had samosas or even a veg biryani, but the ingredients were fresh and spice level perfect. We placed an order for pick up and it was ready at teh estimated time. Will try to eat there next time! read more

Great ambiance and a Beautifully renovated place. Everything is new . Interesting menu options but limited! You order first and sit down. We ordered a Jackfruit Burger. Pretty unique dish and we have only had this at 1 other place in the BayArea. Very tasty and crunchy! All the sauces that came with the burger were homemade and they were amazing! Specifically tamarind bbq sauce. Other item we ordered was the Paneer Kathi Roll. This was just wonderful! It was spicy, tangy, a mild bit sweet. The outer wrap was nicely done too. Came across this place as I drove by my usual haircut place on El Camino. Their menu looked pretty interesting and we went in to give it a shot. The vegetarian wife had the Kolkata Jackfruit burger and I tried the Egg & Chicken Tikka Kathi roll. We also ordered the Masala fries. The jackfruit burger was quite tasty, with the right balance of flavor and texture. Pineapple chutney was yummy. The kathi roll tasted great as well. The masala fries were okay, and didn't really have much masala on them. Also, the fries took about 25 minutes to arrive which was kind of a bummer. The ambiance is really nice! Overall, i recommend this place for some tasty Indian fusion food. Will be back to try more of their items. read more

Came here on a Sunday night with a few friends to check it out. Parking was easy - there is a huge parking lot. It was busy but not too crowded - enough to know it must be a good place! It was definitely an old fast food restaurant converted - very casual. But it felt charming and authentic. You order up at the counter and they bring out dishes to you one by one, on a tray. It's pretty fast, but the chai can take some time. We ordered a bunch of things to share and I've put my personal rating below: - chicken momo (9/10) (was not expecting this to be as good as it was, best momos I've had!) - tandoori drumsticks (9/10) (flavorful and tender) - chicken sandwich (9/10) (amazing!!! Tender, flavorful, rich) - kerala friend chicken (6/10) (felt super fried and not too flavorful, had a red color which made it look artificial) - sweet potato chat (5/10) (not too flavorful) Definitely get the first 3, bursting with flavor and super tender meat. We also tried every single sauce. My favorite with the green one. My only complaint would be there didn't seem to be veggies on the entire menu. It was mostly chicken, which I love, but felt hard to have a meal without that balance.. but who knows, maybe that's very intentional! Decided to try something new while I was in the area, didn't disappoint! It looks like Butter Chicken Social used to be a fast food spot, with the counter set up and drive through outside. I really like how they modernized it - the dining area is really tasteful, their mascots/signage look newly designed, and the enamel dishware is super cute. I loved the vibes! You order up in the front and they give you a number while you find a spot to sit. Overall the food comes out decently fast. We ordered butter chicken w/ garlic naan, butter chicken momos, and tamarind sauce roasted sweet potatoes. I can see why they call themselves butter chicken social; the sauce is super good!! My only feedback is that if you get naan, there's not quite enough for the entire dish. We ordered another serving. The chicken pieces and serving sizes are a bit sparse, but I still enjoyed it a lot. The sweet potatoes were quite light and refreshing because of the tangy sauce. We went a little more traditional with our choices this time around, but I'd come back to try the fried chicken sandwich, pasta with pink sauce (butter chicken gravy and cream), and their more modern renditions of classic Indian dishes.
