The service was prompt and courteous. They took plates as we finished without being intrusive. They asked about food allergies and when I said dairy, gluten, and eggs they confirmed it was a sensitivity rather than an allergy. They helped me choose my take home hummus. Have had Oren's many times for take out and it is always consistently delicious and fresh. This time we dined in at the location in downtown Mountain View. The hummus is of course their signature and is some of the best around, so thick and creamy. I ordered the falafel pita which was tasty, fluffy pita, crispy falafel, and very heavy on the hummus. We ordered a Muhammara dip appetizer which was delicious (walnut red pepper). They give complimentary pickled slaw and hot sauces. On my last visit I tried the Shakshuka which was soo good. Visited this place for the team lunch this Friday. It's an amazing place with lots of sitting available in inside and outside. We ordered a bunch of food like a sampler which had six small sides and two pita breads with the side of two extra pita bread. Everyone ordered a main dish. I ordered a pita sandwich with falafels. And I absolutely loved it. Their drink menu is amazing. I had warm apple cider and it was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a warm drink this winter season. Finally for the desert, we ordered chocolate moussse, some brittle and Babka. Everything was absolutely delicious. The staff is really friendly and nice. They took good care of us. They checked on us regularly. I adore this place in LG; we were starving and happened to find it in Mt. View and was so happy!! Today a lady offered we try a hot cider! Ooooooh My Heavens what is that!!! Love Oren's hummus! Was walking along Castro and craving some good Mediterranean food so decided to go to Oren's as it never disappoints. We came 30 minutes before closing on a Monday and the staff still seated us without rushing us at all. I got the Pita Falafel and then my friends got the Pita Chicken and Sampler Dish. The pita falafel was a 5/5 - delicious! Generous amount of hummus which I appreciated. Falafels were flavorful and the vegetables tasted fresh. Very filling. My friends enjoyed the pita chicken and sampler dish. One thing to note - my friend got one whole wheat pita and one white pita with the sampler dish and said the whole wheat pita was rather stale and tough to chew. Might have been due to the fact that we came late in the day. She still liked her dish and said she would just get white pita next time. Split the garlic hummus with a friend and it was good, but not out of this world. The whole wheat pita was soft, fluffy, and delicious on the side. I was craving some veggies so I went with the Fattoush Salad with grilled chicken and it was absolutely delicious! Service was friendly and attentive and the place was very clean and tidy. The only downside is the restaurants is very expensive for the portion size. A small serving of hummus to share and my salad with chicken was almost $40 with tip (a well deserved tip I will say!). The eggs were runny and the tomato stew was nicely seasoned! - Pita Bread: We've tried both their wheat and white pita bread options and they are SO fluffy and delicious. We Orens! Been going here for years and they are always consistent. We make the drive to MTV just for Oren's. Some of our favorites are the chicken kebab, cauliflower hummus and the pita breads! Would love it if they opened a location in the east bay or closer to San Mateo. A client gave us a electronic gift card that Oren's couldn't find a balance on but it showed it was active meaning it wasn't used yet. Oren's still honored the gift card. We offered to pay because the gift card was old and we didn't want to make a big deal out of it if it didn't work, but they told us they valued us as long time customers and honored it. We had no idea they knew that who we were and how long of a customer we have been. They just secured our loyalty. Thank you! read more

We had takeout from Oren's for a recent meeting, and wow--everything was delicious. The portions? Huge. Like, "this could feed a small village" huge. I tried the hummus with Moroccan beef, and it was insanely flavorful. Every bite was perfection. I probably ate way more than I should have, but honestly, how do you not when it's that good? Walking away wasn't an option. I was wishing I'd ordered extra pita, but simultaneously glad I didn't... because then I never would have stopped! If you love hummus, this place is a must. I ordered the rice bowl with beef kebabs today, and it was very yummy! I enjoyed combining a small bite of kebab, rice, tahini, and Israeli salad for every bite. The flavors mixed super well. The rice was flavorful and moist. They also give a lot of it! This meal is enough for me to have lunch the next day. While the flavors of the beef were good, it was a bit dry. Blatant discrimination and dishonest management at @orenshummus I am deeply disappointed and disgusted by the treatment my Latin family of 5 received at Oren's Hummus in Mountain View from the manager, Chris. When we arrived, we requested to sit outside. There were 6 tables outdoors, and only 1 was occupied. Chris flatly denied our request, claiming that all of the remaining tables were reserved, so we were forced to sit inside. Exactly 10 minutes after we sat down, a white family of 5 walked in and asked to sit outside. Without hesitation, the staff said "of course," and even brought out an extra chair to accommodate them at one of those supposedly "reserved" tables. At the end of our dinner (our lady server was really kind) I confronted Chris about this. He scrambled for excuses, claiming that a reservation had just canceled, which is why he sat the other family there. When I asked him to show me the cancellation on his system, he lied again, claiming that "once a reservation is canceled, it disappears from the system." Even if one table had canceled, that doesn't explain why the other 4 empty tables suddenly became available for them but not for us. He never apologized and just kept digging into his lies. It was incredibly clear to my family that we were treated differently based on our race. Chris's behavior was discriminatory, dishonest, and completely unprofessional. We will never be returning to this establishment while this "Chris" still there and I urge others to think twice before supporting a place that allows this kind of treatment read more

Absolutely and still the best Mediterranean food and out of this world pita in town bar-none. Went back to have dinner tonight with my wife and son and we cleaned up all our dishes. The beef/lamb ground beef was excellent, my chicken thighs were soft and flavorful, the rice was magnificent and of course the pita dipped in hummus and babaganoush was a must have. Raphael did an excellent job and apologized to us for a slight wait due to a shift-change and so he brought out some pastries to us. He was very respectful and attentive. Hands down the BEST hummus and falafel I have ever had in my life. I was warmly welcomed by a server named Chris who was clearly busy but gave me the time of day to say hello. I was also greeted by Janette and a manager named Chris who made me feel like I was at home. The cashier Maria was also really nice and friendly to me which gave me a sense of belonging. Everything was delicious! We had an mis of vegetarians and non-vegetarians so it was a good mix of items that let everyone try a bit of everything. They mention chicken skewers but it doesnt really come on skewer , kind of bummer if you are expecting that, but it tastes good. We like their muhmarrah dip. We have been a regular at this location for over a year now. My 5 year old daughter loves loves this place. They have kids activity page and crayons to keep them entertained. We usually go during the happy hour times. During our last visit, Aurora served us. She is the sweetest! My daughter is so picky about the olive oil/Chilli/ parsley on her hummus.
