My husband brought home takeout from Urfa tonight, and it was absolutely delicious. That carnivore that I am could not have enjoyed the lamb shank more. How do they get that incredibly succulent flavor? And, the Cornish hen is perfect. If you appreciate chicken that actually has flavor, you will love this dish. Ok so the food is not even that good at this place but the service is disastrous. Probably half of the reviews are fake from the business owners and their friends We were a group of four people going to this place and there was a huge crowd sitting behind us, they were so loud that we couldn't even eat our dinner. No one including the manger or the waiter apologized from us neither they tried to change our table. Overall it was one of the poorest quality of the restaurant services I have ever seen in Bay area. I had a salmon wrap and fries. I always get nervous ordering anything salmon at restaurants because it's often overlooked and dry. Urfa did a great job! The fish was still moist and juicy. Had a lovely lunch here yesterday. Lunch menu includes a variety of appetizers, lunch wrap deals, a few salads, full lunch plates, and select other entrees. Wraps are a good deal for $13-15. A protein wrapped in lavash with choice of salad or fries. For a few more dollars, go for the higher protein to carb ratio lunch plates. I ordered the Urfa Kebab Lunch Plate for $18 which came with a full length ground lamb and beef kebab which was juicy, flavorful and perfectly grilled, attractively plated with a small mixed green salad, grilled peppers, pickles and scoop each of rice and bulgur. My friend ordered the Beef Kebab Lunch Plate which was very similar, but instead featured tender, juicy pieces of filet beef. Complimentary bread service is offered. Reminds me a bit of Dish Dash Mediterranean in Sunnyvale, but slightly more pricey (well, of course this is to be expected in Los Altos). Would have liked the option of more of their wonderful grilled meats over salad instead of just as a wrap, or full lunch plate. Really delicious!! I tried the risotto of the day which had eggplant, tomatoes, mushrooms, peas and carrots. My cousin tried the branzino which was equally delicious! We also split garlicky truffle fries which I mean can never be bad. One bad thing. Service was really slow, I don't know if that's typical but it was so slow that we couldn't get dessert as I had a train to catch. A simply perfect experience! I made a last-minute reservation for the family for Christmas dinner, everyone was a bit puzzled as to why we were having Mediterranean, but after we left with our bellies full, no one questioned my decision and they shouldn't have in the first place. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff is lovely, the wine selection is top-notch. We ate family style and the cold appetizer platter was delicious, the vegetable Mousaka was AMAZING (the better version of ratatouille the way they cook it) and the fish was incredible! I'm actually kind of sad we didn't get deserts, but we get a lot of sweet treats from relatives. I live up in SF, but I will remember to come here when I'm in the Peninsula! Absolutely fabulous! My honey and I were craving Greek/Mediterranean for lunch during the Los Altos Art & Wine Festival. They had some outdoor seating available which was perfect for "people watching". Our experience was excellent. The service was attentive, friendly and fast. We ordered the grilled octopus with arugula and cherry tomatoes, cup of red lentil soup, Urfa kebab wrap with salad, and the delicious truffle fries. Everything was full of fresh flavors and of perfect texture. The octopus was so pliable you could cut it with your fork. The red lentil soup had nuances of spices with a hint of mint. The wrap was like a gyro with more substance. It came with some arugula, onikns, cucumber, tomatoes and of course the tasty meat. The yogurt sauce on the side complimented the wrap nicely. Our server forgot the truffle fries which wasn't a big deal. We were going to go without, but he made us an offer we couldn't refuse. So we waited for them and had another round of drinks. It was the icing on the cake for great service. Those truffle fries were yummy too- light with a touch of salt. Restaurant and food looks fancy however we starts to feel stomach pain after having the meal. I'm assuming the water or some food isn't clean. There's some "usual" customer in nearby area and come after than us. But they got water, starter and meal earlier than us. I'm thinking it is better to go other mediterranean restaurants in Mountain View or Menlo Park. Price is more reasonable and food is much safe. read more

Our favorite place in downtown los altos and one of our favorites on the peninsula. Their food is absolutely delicious. We've tried most things on the menu. We had the halibut, a special. One of the best fish dishes I've ever had. We also love the izchkar (sp?) Which they look off the menu. The betti kabob is similar but I love the spongy bread from the izchkar. We actually learnt about it because a waiter or gm said it was his favorite and just randomly brought it out for us to try one day. (They had given us the wrong order or something.) So as a thanks for waiting, he just brought us his favorite dish. And then it became our favorite! So excellent service, clearly! We love their outdoor patio. Nice desserts. I've ordered catering from Urfa for a company event and really enjoyed the veggie skewers so I knew it would be a decent spot. What I didn't know was how AMAZING it would be!! Ordered salad w/ buratta and it was the most flavor intense salad I've ever had! The presentation was beautiful as well. Also, ordered the branzino special which was good, but not as good as the chicken kebob. Wow, this is the juiciest, most flavorful chicken dish EVER! A must order! Can't wait to come back! Met up with a colleague for lunch and was pretty meh. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but the salmon wrap was pretty bland with more filling than salmon. Went there on a Friday's evening. It was quite busy, but we had made a reservation. We chose the patio seating. It was really cool and enjoyable. Our server was really friendly and nice. I ordered the Ginger Lemonade for my drink. It was really good; it had freshly squeezed lemon and ginger in it without any sugary lemonade taste. Complementary Bread was served warm and I really loved the olive oil that came with it. Grilled Octopus: The jumbo pieces of octopus' legs were marinated then grilled, so they were flavourful. The honeydew on the bottom also went well with the dish, too. Branzino Thai BBQ Sea Bass: It's the first time I tried the whole fish in a restaurant! It's fantastically fresh and delectable. It also had a hint of sweetness, which I really enjoyed. The side salad was wholesome and light. I got a sense of innovative Mediterranean cuisine at Urfa Bistro.
