Pesto & Sundried Tomato Chicken Sandwich

This is one of my favorite places to get a sandwich. My usual is the pesto and sun dried tomato chicken sandwich. It's served warm and just melts in your mouth. The staff are quick to greet you and service is pretty quick. Cookies are made fresh and just hit the spot for sweet cravings.

Needed something quick to eat before heading down to SD for game night at Petco. Didn't want fast food but didn't want to sit for an hour either. Urbane Cafe was just the ticket. Quick and healthy to boot! Stopped in after the lunch rush but before the afternoon barrage. A few other customers sitting and chatting, but definitely not busy. Music was playing overhead but not blasting. The team was chatting behind the counter but still attentive to our needs as well as other customers. Ordered a couple salads. Julie got salmon. Mine, seared ahi tuna. Hit the spot! Both bursting with flavor. Did I mention it was healthy too! Managed to be in dnd out in a timely fashion. Service was friendly and personable. Food delicious and quick. Oh, and healthy too! Keep on Yelp'n!

I ordered a protein bowl and paid extra for additional chicken, but the extra chicken was never added. Unfortunately, I didn't have time during my lunch break to go back and address the issue. My advice: don't pay extra for additional chicken it's not worth it if they forget to include it. If you do order extra, open your bowl and check it before leaving. Don't assume it's there just because you paid for it.

This was a nice find. I love that they have a vegan option on the menu. The Tofu Banh Mi was delicious. My husband had the Pastrami Tri Tip sandwich and loved it. The kids meals were a great size. Prices were on point. Everything was fresh and tasty. Customer service was great.

I am not a sandwich person at all but I like their sandwiches. Especially the chimichurri steak and salad. I like to order the cilantro salad dressing too. It is sooooo good. They give you just enough to fill you up. The staff is really friendly and helpful if you have any questions about the menu.

The price is so reasonably cheap given all the increases that we have seen lately in 2024 to 2025. The ingredients are really fresh and the portion really big for the cost. Very friendly service and efficient to the time that they say your food is going to be ready. I love that they do give you a free drink or cookie when you sign up on the app. Got the cilantro sandwich and salmon salad and both were just really delicious and seasoned really well. I love the outdoor seating area as well as the indoor space. Plenty of parking in the area.

Made it out to Temecula around noon and I was hungry but where my family met up there wasn't any gluten free options for me so I opted for here as I know I'm able to get what I want. I got my go to meditarrian bowl, needed something light but food that keeps your energy up and moving the rest of the day. It was delicious, ate it all up, I do wish there was more cucumbers in this one like other locations. I also forgot you get bread with it and I had to remove it from my plate as I couldn't have it. Inside was packed full of people so I needed up grabbing a spot outside to eat. It was a bit chilly but my food was hot so it made up for the outside cold factor. Then again I did pop in at lunch hour.

I've ordered takeout several times, consistently delicious. Fresh ingredients every time. I love the ahi salad, the dressing is outstanding!

The ambience is overall very light , spacious , great seating and with a choice of patio or indoor seating , patio tables Are ALL shaded with is a big win for us Temecula people or anyone trying to stay away from the sun. The food was delicious. I ordered a Santa Maria Bbq chicken salad. The presentation was amazing . Portions and prices are adding everything is amazing until I realized the salad came with goat cheese. I asked a service member and angel came and verified the salad did indeed come with that goat cheese crumble on the top. I was prepared to by another salad because I don't like goat cheese. But angle brought me a new salad and was very polite and kind about it. Thank you guys . I Will definitely be ordering again

I have been coming here maybe for the past year and half, and is one of my favorite spots! when I have to work in the area, the food is always delicious (I rotate between the cilantro chicken salad and the torta), and the whole place has such a warm, welcoming vibe. Naomi deserves a special shoutout, she always greets everyone with a cheerful "Hi, welcome!" and even remembers my usual order. That personal touch goes a long way, THANK YOU The rest of the staff is just as friendly and always aware when someone walks in. The restaurant is always clean, no matter the time. Even during peak hours, when the dish basket fills up, they're quick to clear it. Great food, great people, great energy love this place! Not sure why I waited to share my experience. "Keep it up you all"

$7.30 charge for replacing chicken with salmon, cold and dry.

First time order, cilantro chicken salad, replacing chicken w salmon and the fish salad. They charged $7.30 for salmon replacement and they gave a very small, thin salmon portion, cold, dry and with barbeaue sauce -yikes. Vinaigrette is really poor quality. No cilantro. Overall charge: $28.95. I will never order again. I wish we would have California Fish Grill in Temecula. We used to go to Urban Cafe in Irvine, years ago. We had much better experience.

Absolutely incredible grub in this hipster spot. All the sandwiches and soups are super legit... The kicker here is the focaccia bread is ALL made fresh and amazing. Tonight we had the enchilada soup and chimchuri steak sandwich (10/10!!!). Great table service and love the poppy upbeat music reverberating throughout. Comfortable seating all over the place and a great fountain drink selection. WAY better than any of the other local sandwich spots nearby. I'll be a regular here.

Drove a very long way just to have some URBANE in my life ( actually on my to Temecula). Decided to stop here as we don't have one in rancho. PARKING: Located in a small shopping center near the mall. Plenty of parking FOOD: $30 BUCKS for an ahi salad, pesto chicken sandwich, and a drink. Pretty affordable when compared to other quick dining spots. Ambiance: super chill and casual Service: fantastic and quick. Definitely will come again when we come through.

They have good food and good fun options for sandwiches and salads. Personally I feel the salads are much better in comparison to the sandwiches. The sandwiches are made with their in house made foccocia bread which is delicious but the meat portion is definitely not comparable to the amount of bread. My favorite salad is the ahi tuna salad. They dressing is so good! Kids menu options are not great. Like 3 things. Turkey sandwich, cheese pizza (on the foccocia bread), and a grilled cheese. read more

Food is good, freshly prepared, and pretty tasty. Service is good too. I haven't tried the sandwiches, I've mostly been into the salads and soups that change daily. Best of all - it feels as if I'm eating healthy-ish. Like the enchilada soup, cilantro chicken and beet salad. Didn't care for the clam chowder. But all in all - happy with the food. read more

Highly disappointed! Supposedly, the Cilantro Chicken salad was to have all kinds of good stuff like corn and beans and avocado and salsa. Mine had maybe a teaspoon of each of those, a little bit of chicken, and lots of lettuce. Won't be back anytime soon. read more

I randomly came across this restaurant when I was visiting my bf in his hometown. I wanted something fresh/healthy and I some how came across Urbane! I'm glad I did! It took me all of two seconds to pick the place and it was only a 5 minute drive from where we were; if that's not fate, I don't know what is. Food was great! Even my picky bf liked it. We both got the bbq chicken salad. It was everything I was looking for and more. And the staff were very friendly, and I take that sh** seriously! 1st time eating here. Order for at front and then sit where you want, can also get food to go. Staff was friendly and fast, even though it was right at lunch and on the busier side food came out right away. I ordered the gourmet grilled cheese , was tasty enough but definitely not the best, bread almost needed to be toasted or fast grill to it, with the soft cheeses and soft avocado and then soft bread it was all just a little one noted. Side salad was just perfect size , fresh and yummy. Friend ordered salmon sandwich which I don't see listed on the to go menu, I didn't taste it ( darn it) but I heard no complaints from her! Worth adding a cookie to your order, I got chocolate chip and it was so warm and gooey and downright delicious! The two stars are because honestly the food is good and the price is fair for the freshness and healthy nutritional value. However, we all know how Covid-19 restrictions have impacted restaurants and consumers. Urbane allows you to place online orders with a reasonable estimated time of take out readiness. Today I placed an order for a salad at 11:30am. I was given a readiness time of 11:45. Arrived at Urbane at 11:55am and asked to wait outside for my order. For some reason the sun wants to magnify it's beam directly on me as I stand 30 minutes outside waiting fir my order with a line of 6 or so people now. Am I whining? Maybe. I guess it's hot, I'm hungry and now need to scarf this down to get back to work. Thats if it comes out in the next 15 minutes. This is ridiculous and if you order online or on the app. Be prepared to wait outside due to the popularity and lack of staff to prepare the orders! read more

Ugh! I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this kind of stuff seems to be happening more and more with food ordered through delivery services. Ordered the Baja bowl through Uber eats (they did nothing wrong) and it was missing the avocado and the dressing. Customers can't do anything to resolve the situation as if they were in you restaurant. Fix your process to make sure things like this do not get missed. read more

There's no WiFi~ I came here just the other day and it was... okay! The food is amazing but I feel like they have a very limited menu especially for vegetarians. Mike was very patient with me as I had more than a handful of questions about items on the menu. I decided to order the UC Bayn Mi Chicken Sandwich, Salmon Salad, and Oatmeal Cookies. I had never had a sandwich like it before, the bread was soft and the sandwich was flavorful and delicious. It also came with a small salad so I'm saving the salmon salad for tomorrow. The oatmeal cookies were soft and warm, I ate all three in one sitting. Although, this was my first time at Urban Cafe it definitely will not be my last. I was getting ready to have dinner with a good friend and we found this place on a whim. I honestly wasn't expecting anything that great because I figured it gonna be similar to Corner Bakery, which was not good. HOWEVER, I was delightfully surprised. We each ordered a sandwich--the Southwest and the Cranberry Brie Turkey. Yup, brie on a sandwich...how was I going to say no to that?! Each sandwich came with a mixed green salad--the good healthy kind, not the cheap non-nutritious lettuce that some places serve. My Cranberry Brie Turkey had a nice sweet-salty balance to it and the bread was good--nice and soft. The sandwich was also a good size because it turned into dinner and lunch the next day for me. My friend finished his entire meal. We both really enjoyed the food for the price and will likely return. read more

So my coworkers and I have been trying to find healthier lunch options. This place is right across the street from where we work. I got the So Cal chicken sandwich and it was SO GOOD!!! The bread is so fresh and the chipotle aioli and tomatillo salsa gave it so much flavor and juiciness! I was a little worried it would be spicy cause of the sign next to it but it was just the right amount of little kick. The house side salad was fresh and flavorful. Everyone was very happy with their meal. And the food came out so quick! Perfect for a lunch break. Don't forget to get a cookie!! One of the best chocolate chip cookies! DEFINITELY glad I found this place on GrubHub during this pandemic. Lately, I've been eating fried and/or anything and everything which wasn't good for me..... This discovery is a godsend! This was my first time coming here and I will definitely be back! Their pesto and sundried tomato sandwich was delicious and very filling, the flatbread was soft and fresh too! It reminded me a little of Panera Bread, but with much more unique sandwiches, reasonable prices, and supporting a local business to top it off. History

Established in 2003.

It all started in 2003 when owner Tom Holt realized there was a missing niche in the Ventura restaurant scene. He wanted a great sandwich and salad, something different, while still being dedicated to delicious-tasting food. He understood that every great sandwich starts with the freshest of bread, so he designed the cafe around a hearth oven. Working with his friend Pete, they came up with a bread recipe that was soft, delicious and baked fresh, right in front of your eyes. It didn't stop there though, he created a menu centered around locally sourced ingredients, juicy-roasted meats, and crafted sauces to give each creation its own unique flavor. Urbane Cafe loves being the place where friends, family, and communities gather to celebrate and make memories over delicious food. Our passion is to have our guests walk out happy every time and keep them coming back for more.

Meet the Business Owner: Tom H.

Tom Holt is the owner, founder and Chief Bread Head of Urbane Cafe. As a young child Tom developed a love for motocross racing. His first career was at the age of sixteen when he became a professional motocross racer. In 2003, Tom Holt's vision was to bring a great-tasting, healthy, and affordable sandwich and salad restaurant to the friendly people of Ventura, California: a nice, small town where he grew up. Urbane Cafe quickly became the gathering place where people meet to engage, relax and enjoy a great meal at a great value. The success of that first location proved that Tom had struck a chord with the local community. Urbane Cafe is all family owned and has continued to expand since 2003 to multiple locations across California.

The owner or manager recognized me as the person who had called earlier and went out of his way to make me feel welcome since we found out we're from the same area. He even added a little surprise to my order simply out of kindness. The entire staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. In an area with no shortage of restaurants, I want to give this place the credit it deserves, not only for the excellent food, but for the heart behind the business. Today, I'm especially grateful for the kindness and generosity shown to me. So had some issues before here but decided to try it again (cashier was rude!). First time visiting after swearing we wouldn't go, everything went smoothly. So I'll applaud them. But thinking about it now, it was probably because I ordered through the app, with no alterations to my order. Second time, the place reminded me why you shouldn't go there due to the people working there. Food is great don't get me wrong. But who they hire, that's a different story...so this instance we ordered online through the app again. Got two sandwiches and asked for a side of southwestern ranch, extra oranges in the salad, and extra corn in the sandwich. Not too hard right? On the app itself there is no option to ask for all that. So left it in the notes. Mind you I've done this before and picked up the food previously and it was fine. Well this time, the cashier seemed irritated and told my wife that there's an option to add all of our add ons. My wife, who didn't use the app, apologized. Well she tells me what happened and I was infuriated. Before you go on and lecture your customers, they should first be less condenscending, second do your research before you tell your customers what they can and can't do. The app does not give you those options that we wanted. It's sub this sub that. And no I'm not being cheap. I would gladly pay IF THEY HAD THE OPTION ON THE APP!!!!!! Seriously I'm done here. I've enjoyed visiting other Urbane Cafe locations in SoCal, so I was pleased to discover there's one in Temecula! I'm very fond of their panini sandwiches, which are made with their house-made focaccia bread. Mmmmmm everything about this place was so good. Their bread is already vegan so I just had to take out the cheese and sauce but it was still really delicious. The salad that comes with the to go box was on point; I don't even know how to describe the sauce but it was savory and sweet! 10/10 recommend read more

I have been counting my macros and this spot makes it so easy to track! They have a great mix of grains, greens and protein. My go-to is the Baja Bowl with the cucumber salsa mixed in. I love the pita here too it tastes so fresh! Perfect for healthy girles :) read more
