Best place in the whole world! Love love their sandwiches and the customer service is the best!

This place is great!!!! We found it by accident. We are going to wahoos but it closed down. This place was close by so we stepped in. I was a little concerned because it looked like one of those trendy organic places my wife likes but I hate. NOTE: kale is not food. Kale is what good eats. 'Nuff said. I had the Santa Maria bbq chicken sandwich. It was terrific. It came with a side salad that was surprisingly good. My wife had the ahi tuna bowl she said it was really good. Urbane Cafe is one of my go to spots for lunch in Pasadena. They have yummy salads- the Cobb is my favorite. The chicken is always cooked right and the veggies are fresh and delicious. I haven't tried the sandwiches but definitely want to try the bowls. read more

This was my first time here and I loved it. Had the Santa Maria BBQ Chicken Sandwich. It was so delicious I ordered a second sandwich and took it home to have for lunch tomorrow! It came with a simple, but delicious, side salad that had mandarin oranges, greens, a sprinkling of cotilja cheese and a light vinaigrette. I also had a chocolate chip cookie--warm, soft, full of chocolate chips and yummy! I wish they would open one in Sherman Oaks or Studio City. So good!! read more

Urban cafe has become one of my favorite restaurants to order takeout from. Supporting small business is very important during these times and they never disappoint! The miso salmon salad is my absolute favorite along with the half and half cookie. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and they are a top reason why I'll keep coming back. read more

We've eaten here a couple times now and its always amazing. Even one night when Uber Eats was extremely delayed, we called and they told us we can come and pick it up. It was already late at night and they stayed after closing to wait for us. Mallory and the whole team here are always great everytime we've talked to them. Each and every time we go here, the food is consistent and good. The workers are always friendly. We usually order one of the sandwiches. I have often ordered the cilantro chicken salad. The salad dressing on this salad is great! We have also ordered a few different soups and they are tasty. The best part are there cookies! They are so yummy. They also have a nice selection of lemonades and tasty brewed ice tea. read more

It's nice to have a sandwich place like Urbane Cafe. Different from your subway or which wich choices when you're feeling like having a sandwich. Urbane fits in nicely among the other restaurants on Lake Ave. You can get a plate with side salad and sandwich nicely presented. They only have one type of bread for their sandwiches which is foccacia. I was skeptical at first, but I liked it, it wasn't too thick and it was soft and fresh. I got the So Cal chicken sandwich and my husband got the Chimichurri Steak. We each swapped one of our halves so we could try both sandwiches out. I ended up liking the Chimichurri Steak sandwich better than the So Cal. To me it was was more flavorful and had better texture to each bite than the So Cal. The So Cal was good but I didn't like as much considering it's one of Urbane's favorites. The chocolate chip cookie was a nice dessert at the end of our lunch. It was served hot, chewy and really delicious! read more

We ordered the vegetarian bahn mi (roasted eggplant, zucchini, portobello mushroom, pickled fresno chilis, pickled radish mix, gochujang chili aioli, cilantro) and the Californian veggie sandwich (with artichoke hearts, avocado, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, green leaf lettuce, herb aioli). Would totally, 100% order the bahn mi again-- the gochujang aioli is fabulous-- but would skip the Californian. read more

I work across the street from this location, Score!! They had their soft opening over a week ago and I think my co-workers and I have been there at least 6 times now! I've tried about 4 of their sandwiches and my favorites are the Chicken Cilantro and the Chicken Ban Mi! Both are super flavorful and they come with a side salad. Lunch for under $10 on Lake is a bargain! I love it here! So glad they've moved in. Great addition to Lake Ave. The staff has always been friendly and management is always attentive to the clients as far as I can tell. read more

I've never heard of this place before but I was around the area and stopped in give it a try. Of course it brand new so everything is neat and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful in deciding what to order. I ended up with the chimichurri steak sandwich. It was really tasty and like that the meat is sliced so you can bite into it without pulling the rest out. The bread I must admit was fresh and tasty. The portion or the sandwich and salad was good size and satisfied me and the price was fair. Overall I liked the place and would definitely come back. read more

I went here for the first time tonight, and I'll be back! The food was so good, very fresh. My friend and I got the miso salmon salad (WOW!) and the Club sandwich. We split them 50/50 and enjoyed both so much. The salmon salad was the best, we couldn't believe how much salmon there was. The Asian vinaigrette was also fantastic, very fresh and tasty. The people who work there were very friendly and helpful as well. It was overall a fantastic experience, and I recommend this cafe. read more

As a loyal customer to urbane cafe, i have to say i am pretty disappointed with the quality at this location. I get the cafe salad and the texture of the lettuce is awful and more bitter than I have had at other locations like ventura or thousand oaks. Not the mention, the bread has always been over cooked and not even warm. I won't be recommending this location to friends or likely returning, even though they offer amazing variety of health, delicous food options. Please improve your quality control! read more

Loved the environment and very good food. Tgt e cookies...wow...i will come back just for the white choc cranberry cookie! Someone on the post said cookies are complementary. They are not. We paid $10.68 for 5 cookies. The drinks were a little too lemony for me. Staff were very nice. I would have given this place a 5 if it had not been the fact that 5 of us stood at least 5 minutes at the cashier waiting to order cookies. We were the only customers in the restaurant. There was a woman with glasses and a man just standing by the ovens chatting. She looked my way several times but not once bothered to ask if i needed anything. After 5 min of listening to her personal conversation and getting quite irritated for being ignored, I just spoke out if I could get some cookies. Only then did she offer to get someone from back to come help me. Yes, I would come back and recc thizCV place. I am very picky and all i can say is that the turkey sandwich w/ melted gruyere & cranberry is the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. Salad was delicious too. My first time getting lunch here. I ordered the pesto and sundried tomato sandwich. Its is absolutely delicious. Served warm on Focaccia bread makes it even better. I recommend this to anyone who prefers a lite lunch. For someone like me who eats salad everyday for lunch, I wouldn't mind having one of these sandwiches ones a week. Guilt free! read more

Today was my first time at Urbane Cafe. I had the Ahi Salad and I liked it. It was filled with lettuce, edamame,avocado, just the right amount of ahi and other veggies. The salad was just the right portion size for me. I had the ahi salad, an iced tea and paid just under $15. I rated it 4 stars for now because this was my first time. I do look forward to going back and trying some of the other food on their menu. read more

So happy an Urbane opened near my house! I use to frequent one by my work fairly often for lunch. Since leaving that job though, I hadn't been in to an urbane for one of their delicious club sandwiches. That has since changed! I'll be getting my turkey club fix a lot more often now. read more

Overpriced, poor quality food. I got the tri tip sandwich, which is heated, fatty roast beef worse than you'd get at subway for 3 times the price. The bread was pretty good, but the meat was terrible. On the positive side, the place is very nice, the service was good and the people were friendly. I won't be returning. Pasadena has no great sandwich shops that I've found. I'll be sticking with Jersey Mike's, which is mediocre, but far better than this place. read more
