The chili had a good flavor, but it was too overloaded with tomato chunks to enjoy. And the chef salad was odd. The meat and cheese was cubed so small and the blue cheese dressing was odd. It was the color of thousand island. I didn't enjoy it. My partner who loves French onion soup, only ate half of it. He said it was tasteless. It was all disappointing. Met here with a new friend and my boss/friend. We were able to have really engaging conversation as our server, Avery, was courteous and attentive and gave us space to chat. Sometimes servers come around too much! But, this was not the case here. The atmosphere is pretty chill and you will probably be positively overwhelmed by the menu. There are all kinds of burgers here! I went with the Steakhouse which is barbecued burger with a nice fat onion ring on it. Very very good. The burger was actually not as big as I expected it to be. This is a good thing. When eating with friends, it's always awkward being super messy and taking super big bites. Maybe that's the introvert/shy side of me? ‍ Anyway, I also ordered the High Tea which is a nice citrusy Bourbon drink. Mixed very well. Also, the burger comes with fries. This is an amazing place, I've been a few times. The burgers options are great and their gluten free bun is decent (it's rare to find a great one in a typical restaurant) which is a plus. I've had many burgers from the options and my fave is still the Philly Cheese, likely due to the cherry pepper relish. The pimento cheese is great and the pickle plate unusually tasty, and spicy. It somehow manages to be quaint while not being small in the slightest. There's outdoor, indoor, and bar seating options and a vast amount of options on tap. Urban Stack is a solid option for food in downtown Chattanooga. It's a bit far from the tourist hub of downtown, but has plenty of nearby pay parking options. They've done a good job repurposing an older building, with beautiful brick interiors and an outdoor patio area. One of the big selling points of Urban Stack is that they use locally sourced fresh ingredients and meats are from humanely treated animals. We ordered a burger with onion rings and the Dirty Bird (chicken sandwich) with a farmhouse salad. The best thing is that you can substitute any side or salad in place of fries and just pay the price difference (more businesses should do this). The burger (4/5) was well prepared as per specifications, and while not the best burger I've had, was definitely a quality burger. The onion rings (3.5/5) were above average, with proper breading and some crispier than others. The farmhouse salad (5/5) was the star of the show with a multitude of healthy and tasty ingredients; an excellent salad preparation. The Dirty Bird (4/5) was a decent chicken sandwich, but for something advertised as "spicy fried chicken," it didn't have any discerning southern flair or much of a spicy kick to it. Overall, Urban Stack did the job of filling us up with decent quality food at reasonable prices, and I'd recommend it to others for a sandwich/burger fix in the downtown Chattanooga area. read more

While visiting Chattanooga for the weekend we were looking for the best burger spot we could find. We were excited to visit this establishment after reading all the rave reviews. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. The rating reflects the excellent service and the place is clean with public parking located behind it. They have a very extensive whiskey and bourbon list as well. The chipotle ketchup and pickle relish is good. My boyfriend likes vodka so he got a vodka and cranberry and I had a Strawberry Blonde. The drinks were decent. For food my guy ordered the wagyu burger with onion rings but he couldn't tell a difference between a regular burger and the wagyu beef which shouldn't be the case. We are foodies, so it's not for a lack of palette. I had a regular cheeseburger with fries. The buns are locally made, but much too thick and overpowering for the smaller size patties and probably take away from the taste of the meat. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, and it's not a place we will go back to. If you're just looking for a basic burger that's slightly above average, then this is the place for you. I'm a traditional guy and almost had a traditional burger... she told me to think outside the box, so I did and ordered a mushroom burger and it was very good!!! Came to town for Rock City but wanted to grab a bite before heading up. Stopped here as it was the second place that popped up on Yelp when searching for places to dine. Reviews were also good so decided to come in. We had a party of 6 so we had to wait 20 minutes which they took our phone number and text when the table was ready. Only street parking available so you have to find a Meter and pay which has a 2 hour max and will be 8 quarters so be sure to have those handy. Don't try to not pay because the parking police are in full force. First place I've seen since Covid and businesses opened back up that limits the diners at your table and has notice for you to put your mask back on when the wait staff come to your table. Although people didn't follow that posted rule. They do have curbside pickup available also. I ordered the farm burger well done on a lettuce wrap and a side salad instead of fries. My salad was the farmhouse. My hubs got the big cheese on a lettuce wrap and no pink. My daughter ordered the dirty bird which is a spicy chicken sandwich. My daughter loves her sandwich and said it wasn't overly spicy. I did sample a fry and it was good. My hubs also said his burger was good, nice and juicy. My burger on the other hand was a big disappointment although I just ate it. It was not juicy at all, it was hard to chew and very dry. It may be because I ordered mine well done compared to my hubs ordered no pink however I've never had a burger taste like that despite it being the normal way I order a burger from a burger place. It was our first time and he went over the menu with us. MY BOYFRIEND wanted to watch the game so he gave us a section near the bar area, that looked close.
