It was hard to decide what to order. A lot of good choices. I went with the beets+avocado plant based bowl. It was good but I don't like quinoa. I knew I shouldn't have ordered it. This is about my third time coming here specifically to order the cage grilled chicken club sandwich which I love and I get home and there is no avocado on my sandwich. I even confirmed with the gentleman with braids who took my order that avocado comes on the sandwich and he said yes. And again once I get home there is NO AVOCADO. This sandwich has gone up significantly and it was already expensive because of the avocado so at this point I believe they intentionally leave off the avocado to scam their customers! I travel to Dublin/Pleasanton frequently and Urban Plates is my go to when I want delicious food fast. My favorite meal is the blackened salmon, the beet salad with goat cheese (they were out of it this visit), mashed potatoes with gravy, and mint iced tea. I used to love this place, but the past several times I've ordered it has not gone well. Case in point: I just ordered the Urban Superfood Salad through Grubhub. One of the ingredients was mandarin oranges and my salad contained...one slice of mandarin orange. Another listed ingredient was pickled onions, and my salad included...one sliver of pickled onion. If I hadn't been sitting in my own home I would have thought it was some kind of hidden camera show. The ingredient that excited me most was the bleu cheese, and this item was missing entirely. We know the food is great, so this post is about two managers who gave outstanding customer service. Both, Mr. Morgan and Eugene Taylor helped set up a private dinner for my daughter. Mr. Morgan assisted with the deal and Eugene assisted with the event that day. Got to speak with Eugene from time to time and he even made time to learn more about our celebration, taking time from everything else at this busy place. We loved the event, food, and service. I don't think I will be back here. I ordered the grass fed steak plate with brussel sprouts and Mac&cheese and it was very underwhelming. The steak had a fishy taste to it that was very off putting for me. I assume they cooked the steak and salmon and shrimp and all of their proteins on the same grill. The brussel sprouts were soggy . I think throwing them in the airfryer for 5 mins instead of cooking it the way they did would've made them taste volumes better. The mac and cheese was fine. It is a very healthy and quick option but I just feel like I can cook all of these items better in my own kitchen. The restaurant itself has nice indoor and outdoor seating. After my last review, Mike, the manager reached out to me first thing the next morning apologizing for the experience and offered to help make it right. We just visited the restaurant and Mike took the time to chat with us and take our order, he replaced our meals, and personally made sure our order was complete before leaving. I really appreciate the time Mike took with us, and to make sure we left feeling great. As well as understanding the position we were stuck in the other night because the restaurant was already closed. Thank you again Mike! Because of this experience today, we will be back again! Update 1 hour later: We got home to eat the food this second time, and the quality was also way better! Last time it tasted like we got the bottom of the barrel, the meat was hard and thrown in a small box, the brussel sprouts overly sauces and not many whole pieces. This time, the meat was tender, larger pieces, and nicely plated. The brussel sprouts were also whole halves and not too saucey. The food was great this time. Was walking from my car when I got the text about food currently being bagged. Opened trays in the car to confirm correct food and only the soup was hot. She had to ask someone which was a waste of my time. I ordered the cheese burger because I love char grilled flavor but my meat tasted like it had bits of charcoal... honestly it was super strong. Not sure if it was supposed to taste as strong as it did or if the grill wasn't clean. My fries were cold. The lemonade was just okay. I won't order the burger ever again. Ribs , tomato basil soup, two cookies , a slice of hummingbird cake and two drinks . Came out to be around $81 I was like it better be good ! And surprising it was the rib was delicious and fell off the bone . The Mac and cheese tasted healthy but good lol . The steak was good some pieces were a little too raw for me . The garlic bread was too soggy for my taste as well . The cake was 5/5! I was worried if would have been too sweet but if was perfect . I have visited two days in a row and absolutely LOVE this place! Fridays cheeseburger and fries had such a Good flavor and Coconut-Lime drink tasted very refreshing and cool. Saturday's lunch was a half chicken sandwich with sundried tomatoes and seafood chowder. So good And the price was just right. The decor is very designer and beautiful. We have always loved the food at Urban Plates and have been patronizing for a decade at least. We dined there tonight and had a totally different experience. The service was still really good but the food was lacking. The salad Nicoise (with salmon substitute)had always been my go to , and I always delighted in the individual making of the salads. Tonight, I still ordered the salad but here was no individual creation and the quality was not in the same league. I was used to a lovely balanced salad with hard boiled egg, olives, green beans, and a few tomatoes. Instead I had a plate chock full of mixed greens(like from a clam shell box) with 3 green beans, no egg, maybe 2 olives, and plenty of tomatoes. The dressing was so thick I could hold it at a steep angle and it did not spill out. I'm so disappointed that the quality of food has suffered so much. read more

I've always been a huge fan of "Urban Plates" as I've frequented their Pleasant Hill location on numerous occasions. However, this was my first ever time to their Dublin location. Having been opened since late-2015, this has already been a well-known and established place that focuses more on wholesome, delicious food without a ton of ingredients that you can't even pronounce. Most of their restaurants are in Southern California but this is 1 of 3 in the Bay Area with the other locations in Pleasant Hill and Sunnyvale. This location is in a busy strip mall at Dublin Blvd and Hacienda Drive just north of Highway 580. Therefore, it focuses on serving residents of nearby Pleasanton, San Ramon, and Livermore. During my visit which was the afternoon of Saturday 4/20/2024, I came here with my significant other for lunch to carry us through the day. The interior layout is quite impressive with many open tables that make dining in a breeze. And since it was a picture perfect 75°F day, we took full advantage of their outdoor patio area. For those that love their food, you have the option of signing up for a 1-month, 6-month, or 1-year discount (aka "Plate Pass") where you save 20% on every order. Since I do not live close to any of their locations, I chose not to go this route. However, I did end up ordering their plate which consisted of their Chimichurri Grass Fed Steak complete with two sides, Mashed Organic Potatoes & Gravy, and Roasted Brussels Sprouts w/Balsamic Glaze. To drink, I went with their Pineapple Coconut Lime Refresher. She also went a plate that consisted of Grilled Cage Free Chicken, Roasted Sweet Potatoes w/Peppers & Onions, and Organic Red & White Quinoa w/Tomato Pesto. After paying and proceeding outside, both our plates come out roughly in 5-7 minutes; which is standard from all my past visits. My Chimichurri steak was seasoned well but just a tad bit dry and overcooked. However the Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes were made to perfection. My lady loved her chicken as it was seasoned and moist while her other two sides did not disappoint. I will say that this company focuses on high quality as I could tell from the ingredients and care it takes into each and every single one of their dishes that they offer. I will say that "Urban Plates" offer something for everyone; full-on entrée plates, salads, soups, bowls, sandwiches, burgers, vegan options, gluten-free options, desserts, beverages, and even kombucha, beer, and wine. With the open floorplan, farm to fork inspired food, variety of options, excellent customer service, and reasonable prices, I am giving this place an above average four star rating. read more

I wish they gave more steak. Their cake was delicious too. They offer a variety of hot sauces as well. I definitely liked the simple order and sit experience. I was absolutely shocked by how much I loved it here. Came with hubby Sunday, Nov 9 after driving back to the bay from LA because it was lunch time. It was light, bright and airy and very comfortable inside. I ordered the salmon plate with sides and the amount of side options and frankly, fish options for this pescatarian was truly amazing. As usual I don't recall what my meaty-meat eater husband ordered. What I do know is that we both LOVED our meals. Salmon was perfectly cooked, tasted fresh and flavorful and there was plenty of food - but not too much. The pineapple coconut lime replenisher was the absolute favorite discovery - honestly trying to replicate that at home. Service was super friendly - both the cashier and the person bringing out the food to the table. I loved it so much I looked up their locations since I don't live near here. Over the past couple of years I've considered this a 5 star place because the food was really a great value for the price. It's getting more pricey so as a relative comparison other places offer full service versus ordering from the counter. This was one of my go to favorites versus chipotle but with the price hikes, I'll likely consider other local restaurants in the future at this price point. Also I found it interesting that they are buying 5 star reviews (see the picture). I appreciate the Manager's immediate reply to my review. Shows that local management is engaged with the customer experience and that they do care. I should also add that the young guy with a charming Spanish accent who brings the orders to the table (he's been there for at least 6 months) he elevates the service by his friendly and attentive focus. If you are not looking for a cheap, healthy eat... you won't be disappointed. The quality of the food has not changed. I only docked a couple of stars for my recent price shock. read more
