I went here on opening day on Monday and I really enjoyed the braised short rib meal and my coconut pineapple lime refresher! The staff were all so nice and helpful but were a little too attentive. Every two minutes someone was asking if we needed something but I completely understand that it's first day jitters I will definitely be back to try other food and bring my family! read more

Chenel was super hospitable and made the experience great. Blackened salmon was a little salty but the sides helped a lot to combat the saltiness. Chocolate chip cookie was not overly sweet, which me and my roommate really enjoyed. Would come back again. read more

Great options for families with diverse needs, including vegans. Everything was delicious, a little heavy on the salt, tho. I wish they had a bean or lentil dish because the only vegan protein was tofu. Otherwise, I highly recommend trying Urban Plates. Be prepared for difficulty parking. read more

What a great addition to Davis. I had a high-quality meal with fresh ingredients and I enjoyed every bite. Sophia was super accommodating when our orders didn't arrive at the same time. And even brought over an extra side for us to share. I look forward to coming back sometime very soon. read more

Food ok, but little high for what you get. Biggest issue is cafeteria style ordering, took forever to get through... it's not for us... I guess if you're 20 something it's the place for you. read more

Urban Plates is a welcome addition to the Davis restaurant landscape. The menu offerings are fresh, delicious, inventive and healthy. Something for everyone- omnivores, carnivores, pescatarians, vegetarians and vegans. All with organic and sustainable options that do not compromise on flavor or value. It's unusual for an establishment to offer mix and match proteins, vegetables, starches and flavor profiles/sauces according to guests' own palettes and creative choices for their meal. No two plates at the same table look alike. For example, I had sustainable blackened salmon, harissa and lime seasoned cauliflower and savory roasted Brussels sprouts. All were fantastic with the lemon hollandaise on offer. The meal would been equally fantastic with a different sauce choice like chimichurri or truffle aioli or creamy blue cheese. My partner had a fish option - barramundi. It was fantastic. Nicely seared like mine. We were tempted by the steak options and starches which would been equally tasty with the sauce variations. The portions were generous. Properly proportioned for health. Heavy on the fresh al dente vegetables where meat was more than ample but didn't dominate the plate. We were astounded at the Our server, Nikki, greeted us at the door and helped us with the ordering system, interpreting the menu for us with tips and ideas for building flavorful plates. She was excited about the food which made us excited. Throughout the meal, she visited to check in on our experience and any additional needs. Great service with genuine energy. The dining space itself is nicely designed. Warm, modern and inviting with plenty of intimate quiet cozy spots to eat or larger interactive group seating configurations. A nice patio too for outdoor preferences. Comfortable furniture and nice ambience. We were very impressed with the pricing too! Excellent supper for two including salads, entrees, delicious sides and soups for under $45 with tax and tip? Unheard of until Urban Plates. Nikki capped off our positive experience with a complimentary large freshly baked cookie. Our town needed Urban Plates. Don't think twice, Davis. Go. Ask for server, Nikki! :) read more

Great food and great service! The ambiance is nice, very bright and open seating. Would recommend this place

My wife, sister in-law and nephew have been to the Urban Plates in Davis California within the last 2 months. The food is always wonderful and service always excellent. On July 5th I took my wife to Urban Plates in Davis CA , Nikki and Benji were our Cashier and Customer relations representatives. Both Nikki and Benji are exceptional Urban Plates team members. The two are friendly and quick to get our order. It was our pleasure to have met both today in a working environment. Cool under pressure and insightful in menu recommendations. Hope to see more of them when we come back with more family and friends. Best Regards, Art & Julie read more

I really wanted to try out this place and I'm glad I did! Parking is no joke and I ended up parking the side lot by Ulta just to check this place out. Place looked very clean and modern and I ended up ordering the short rib plate to go along with a drink. Service was top notch where everyone was friendly , quick, and they packed my order so well! When I took it home the food was still warm and delicious! I will be back to try some other items that caught my eye on the menu. read more

I don't like restaurants with little human interaction. Ordering on a computer screen and seating yourself makes it feel like a cafeteria ambiance and the food reflects it. Not our vibe. My cheeseburger was basically charred outside but completely raw inside. Inedible. The table service staff that delivered the food did an ok job. I won't be back. read more

I enjoyed the pork ribs and carrot/beet medley very much. My wife like the ahi tuna. Nikki came over and chatted, very welcoming. We will definitely be back. read more

Do not go here! Horrible food and service. Waited for over 30 min for to go. People that ordered next to us were served and ate before we got our food! Med Chicken bowl was all dark meat, fatty and tendons present. Drenched in sauce- disgusting. Steak sandwich was a good size for a toddler. Over priced. Under performed. read more
