Q: How much does J-WoW love her matcha? A: A latte. Came here a handful of times with various people and it has been great! Fair warning, most things are made with whole milk so if you're lactose-intolerant like me, be warned. Their drinks will mess you up! Matcha Yuzu Tea, Large, $6.95: Very yuzu forward! My friend found it to be balanced. I found the yuzu overpowering. But who cares what I think. It was her drink anyways. The Black Sesame Cheese Hojicha with Oat Milk (+$0.65): The Black Sesame Cheese Hojicha. The black sesame was nutty and paired delightfully with the smoky hojicha. I will always take hojicha over matcha. This is a pretty amazing drink. This is probably my favorite drink. Hojicha Latte, medium, Oat Milk (+$0.65), Cream (+$0.45), $7.05: The cream added nothing, I'll admit. Skip the cream and go for the Cold Cream. Yum! Vietnamese Style Coffee, Medium, Iced, Whole Milk ($5.95): Psss on this. It's not very strong and is more milk than coffee. Stick with their matcha and their hojicha. Matcha Soft Serve in a Cone ($6.97): Delightful! It's soft serve so how can you go wrong? Unlike some other places, they don't leave a large gaping void in the middle of the creamy treat. Banana Pudding Matcha, large ($8.45): The banana pudding here is so good! Truly an enjoying drink. I just want a cup of the banana pudding alone. Great drinks but the size of the cups leaves me wanting. They're higher on the price point but you are getting a tasty beverage.
Yes yes yesssss if you are looking for some yummy matcha desserts / drinks. I stopped by with friends and we all enjoyed our drinks. I ordered the banana pudding matcha and it was sooo good. The employees were all friendly and very welcoming. There are plenty of chairs and tables set up and the inside was very clean. Service was quick and great!
My favorite matcha place when I found them in Las Vegas. So glad they have a presence in AZ now. The space is bright and wide with ample seating. Enjoy the Hojicha latte with oatmilk that they had to hand whisk, topped with ube foam. A good treat every so often.
8.21.26 - Came in after work on grand opening day! The line actually wasn't too bad around 3:45ish. There were just a few groups ahead of me and maybe 1 or 2 after me but luckily m it was all indoors. No line out the door in the heat. I got the Matcha Latte with Ube Cheese. They didn't ask me about milk preference so I didn't know about until I went again the next day. Matcha latte with ube was pretty good. I tried the Banana Pudding Matcha with oat milk the next day and it was delicious! I went back again a week later and got their Matcha Latte with Strawberry. Another great choice! I feel the drinks could be bigger for the price though.
Went on soft opening day! Pretty busy but no horrible giant line. Service was really good. She helped prevent a misunderstanding I had about the matcha cream latte. Cream just means whipped cream on top. I assumed it was like a matcha cream topping @_@ Anyway, I ended up getting a regular matcha latte w original cheese foam! I think i'd order it a little less sweet next time but overall it was good. Would recommend :) Very spacious w ample seating inside.
Place definitely spacious and has plenty of seating. There is a giant drink menu which has different Matcha teas lattes and sparklers if you are into variety. The only offer additional flavors in cheese top versions, which is interesting because you can't just add strawberry for example to a Matcha latte, it has to be the regular Matcha latte with the cheese top flavor of your choosing. The regular matcha latte is good and in terms of sweeteners, they have the regular syrups, no honey sweeteners. The medium Iced Matcha float is pretty good. $7.95. I like that I can get it half sweet or 75%. Half sweet was a good move for this one. The matcha flavor is very prominent and has a beautiful color on the ice cream. Overall good experience and worth trying!
Came grand opening and then the week after that. Matcha oat latte 5/5! Super good matcha flavor and lil deep. Sea salt Double matcha 4/5, salt throws it off a bit . I don't think I like it much with seasalt. Matcha ice cream is super yummy and comparable to maiko ice cream in Tempe but less sweet(just how I prefer)

I have been waiting for Urban Matcha to open up for so long! I really appreciate when cafes are open late and for their soft opening, the hours are 10:00-21:00. The space is also pretty big with lots of seating and a nice clean design. The drinks I got were pretty good! There is a thick layer of foam which I always enjoy. I found that the drinks taste better when sipping it through the lid to get both the foam and matcha! The banana pudding lid was interesting but the drink itself was pretty good. The banana doesn't taste artificial and pairs well with the matcha. Finally, the parfait was good as well, with a more potent matcha flavor and lots of toppings. My favorite part is always the cake!
When I tell you I have never been more excited for a place to open up in AZ, I mean it!! I'm a huge fan of Urban Matcha and it was always a must visit when I went to Vegas. When I found out that UM was opening in Chandler, I couldn't be more excited. I drink a lot of matcha, and UM's banana pudding matcha is definitely at the top of my list (maybe even my favorite of all time!). Even though I came during their soft opening, the staff was very welcoming and helpful. It was fairly busy, but I didn't have to wait long for my drinks at all and everything was well organized. There are plenty of seats and they even have a few board games to play while you enjoy your drink. Highly recommend visiting UM, they use high quality matcha from Japan and you can truly taste the difference.
So excited that Urban Matcha is finally in AZ! I've always stopped by their Vegas locations whenever I'm there, so having one here is a huge win. It's nice to finally have a reliable spot for high-quality matcha. We ordered the Banana Pudding Matcha, Matcha Latte Float, and Matcha Latte, and everything tasted just as good as I remembered from my visits to their Vegas locations. The matcha had a smooth, rich flavor with a vibrant, naturally earthy taste that never came across as overly bitter or artificial. It was well-balanced, and clearly made with quality matcha rather than being overwhelmed by sweetness or milk. The quality and consistency were spot on! The place was busy, but I'm not surprised--it's already a popular spot. The environment was great, with a welcoming atmosphere that made the visit even better. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu. Next on my list is the Hojicha Cream Matcha and the Kuromitsu Kinako Cream Matcha.

I ordered the lychee jelly matcha at Urban Matcha, but unfortunately, it mostly tasted like water and lychee jelly. The latte and ice cream also didn't look like the photos, although they tasted okay. The place was really loud when I visited, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the experience. I'm hoping they improve over the next few months, because the concept has potential.

Mainly came for the matcha soft serve, and it did not disappoint!! The soft serve is super solid! It is creamy, smooth, and reminds me of Matcha Maiko! The matcha was pretty standard and tasted about how I'd expect a standard matcha latte to taste (6.5/10). It wasn't too strong or too weak, and it wasn't bitter, but nothing about the matcha's flavor profile really stood out to me. The drink was a bit sweeter and milkier than I prefer, so the matcha flavor wasn't as prominent as I would've liked since I usually enjoy a richer, more umami-forward matcha. The banana cream also overpowered the drink for me. My friend tried the hojicha and thought it was pretty standard as well, mentioning it wasn't as strong as the one from his usual spot. Overall, I'd rate the drinks around 6.5-7/10 compared to the many matcha cafés I've visited! Overall, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. New favorite matcha spot! Very easy to find with big open windows. When I came in there was a line but they were super quick when we came in despite the line. I ordered the pumpkin cheese matcha and it was so yummy. The menu is so big it was hard to decide. There was lots of seating and the service was so friendly. I can't wait to come back and try something new. read more

First time trying urban matcha and it was delicious . We ordered ube cheese cap and black sesame hojicha. Both cheese caps were very yummy. It did not overpower the matcha and hojicha. It was quite busy when we went. Service was fast. Lots of tables to sit to enjoy your drink at. The menu was quite extensive . Lots of cool drinks to choose from. read more

Urban matcha is soo delicious! We went twice already and tried their ube cheese cap matcha, strawberry cheese cap matcha, black sesame hojicha, and sea salt double matcha!! I was also able to sample the cheese caps before I committed to which one, so that was very nice. All four drinks were so delicious. I am a fan of their cheese caps. It pairs nicely with their matcha and hojicha. The matcha is the authentic good stuff. Look at the beautiful green matcha color!! I also love how inside is spacious. I was able to sit and get some work done. The chairs are super comfty and there are outlets by the wall. I want to try their matcha ice cream soft serve, so definitely will try it next time I come back. Definitely recommend and so happy a good matcha spot open nearby. read more

We decided to stop in for the soft opening and man was it busy! They did so great. The line went quickly, was pretty streamlined and easy to retrieve our order. We ordered two drinks as well as something off the signature menu I believe it was called uji kintoki. We had our drinks within 10 minutes. The inside was nice a good amount of seating games available to play as well. I liked how bright it is inside with all of the windows. I'd come again. read more

I'm a big matcha fan & this place is sooo good! It has easily became my go to. The only complaint I have with this place was the first time we came here they went heavy on the cheese cap. I just learned to get a light mango cheese cap matcha latte every single time. My boyfriend has tried something new every time and his fav is the creamy banana pudding. The matcha parfait is such a good dessert too! read more
Their soft opening was today Aug 21st, come visit and try their selections of matcha! When we came in the evening there wasn't much of a line and the staff was fast and respectful. I got their matcha soft serve in a cup. The ice cream is nice and creamy and deep in flavor, it's not as sweet as u would think, and u taste a lot of matcha flavor. The matcha latte with oatmilk was more sweater than the ice cream. I recommend getting that as it was nice and creamy. The cheese foam matcha latte was just ok to me, there wasn't much flavor from the foam and the matcha flavor was drowned out because of it. read more

This place really lives up to the hype. The matcha is solid, and I'm honestly not even a huge matcha lover. I'd say their flavor profile is more approachable for the everyday crowd, which is probably why I think just about everyone would enjoy it. Definitely worth checking out if you're into matcha, or even if you're usually not! read more

Amazing!!! My family and I came by last week and it was delicious. I have tried other places, but over here the matcha actually tastes authentic. I ordered a Banana Pudding Matcha, although it was sweet, the matcha base blends well with the pudding. I rate it a 10/10! The cashier was sweet and the space is perfect for studying or even going out with some friends. If I didn't live so far this would be my go to. read more

This place is so cute and fun! They have some games there that you can play with your friends. Their matcha desserts were soooo yummy! Best matcha ice cream ever! I did get to try a sample of their hojicha and it was actually really good! I have yet to try there matcha lattes but will do soon read more

Friendly workers, super fast making the drink, the environment is large and calming. I think it would be a good place to study. My friends don't like matcha, so I thought I wouldn't either, but the matcha here is AMAZING. Especially because it was my first time trying matcha. read more

Stopped by here in the middle of my roadtrip to the west coast. Matcha was so good! I appreciated that I could taste the ube in the cheese foam and nothing was overpowering each other. Barista was friendly and recommended the banana matcha. read more

I got a banana pudding matcha which was good matcha and the banana pudding was delicious. My sister got the sea salt matcha which she also loved. Both were a bit sweet but otherwise good. read more
