Nope. Not it at all and won't be back. Stopped in with my family and from the sewage smell alone we should've left. However, we powered through the smell and ordered. I ordered the butter cake cream, my daughter, the sorbet and my husband had the cowboy ice cream. Every ice cream was extremely freezer burned with the most awful taste. Stopped in for the first time after seeing the Nutcracker. Perfect end to a holiday night! I got a medium with a scoop of cookies and cream and a scoop of fudgesicle. The cookies and cream was so creamy and you can totally tell it's made from scratch! So good. And the fudgesicle tasted just like the fudge pops I used to eat as a kid, and it's vegan to boot!! Scrumptious! Hubby got the sweet cream honeycomb. The flavors were very subtle initially, and had a smooth sweetness, and a nice aftertaste of honey. The bits of actual honeycomb added a surprising occasional crunch that provided a variety in bursts of flavor and texture. Staff was friendly and helpful, and I love that we get to sample flavors before buying (just wish they were compostable since it's a lot of plastic wasted). Looking up ice cream places in San Tan and Gilbert Arizona, The Screamery had popped up on Yelp as one of the top places! This ice cream shop is located in downtown Chandler. We ended up parallel parking in an open spot on the street that was available. The Screamery is a local Arizona ice cream chain located in Marana, Tucson, Phoenix, and Chandler. There are currently 6 Screamery locations. Their menu offers a wide range of unique ice cream flavors. As soon as you walk into the ice cream shop, you'll notice several tables situated throughout and bar seating available too! We ended up selecting the Flights of Ice Cream. This included six sample scoops made to enjoy a variety of different flavors. Ooey Gooey Buttercake: Vanilla ice cream mixed with butter cake pieces. Raspberry Cheesecake: Our cheesecake base swirled with a fresh raspberry puree. Triple Play: Chocolate base, brownie pieces, and chocolate chips. Rough At Sea: Sea salt base, honey-butterscotch swirl with candied pecans, almonds, and pistachios. Cowboy Cookie: Salted caramel base with oatmeal, walnuts, and chocolate chip cookies. Sweet Cream Honeycomb: Sweet cream base with handmade honeycomb pieces from local raw honey. My favorite ice cream flavors started with the following Rough At Sea -- Cowboy Cookie -- Ooey Gooey Buttercake -- Sweet Cream Honeycomb -- Tripe Play -- Raspberry Cheesecake I'm not the biggest pistachio fan, but the rough at sea ice cream is absolutely scrumptious. You must try this flavor out! Butterscotch is one of my favorite ice cream flavors, and all the pecans, almonds, and pistachios mixed in really enhanced the flavor. It was so good! The Cowboy Cookie came in at #2. The salted caramel base was yummy. We didn't get too much flavor from the chocolate chip cookies, but you could taste the oatmeal and walnuts. The Ooey Gooey Buttercake #3 for me. There were a lot of butter cake pieces, which reminded me of a birthday cake flavor ice cream. Even though the vanilla ice cream was the base flavor, you really could taste the butter cake flavoring instead. The sweet cream honeycomb, triple play, and raspberry cheesecake were good flavors, but I wouldn't order those a standard order. I liked the other 3 flavors a lot better! The price was inexpensive, less than $10.00 for the flight sample. There was only one team member at the Screamery when we had arrived. The service was great, though, and she did provide feedback on specific ice cream flavors to us, which was wonderful since it was our first time inside the ice cream shop! read more

Very seldom do I ever rate a business with such a low star rating. Based on our experience, I have to do it this time. We had dinner at the Mexican restaurant next door and decided to come to The Screamery for a flight of ice creams for dessert. There were several people at the business, a few outside and few inside. We walked up to the cases and I paid attention to the board above that had notes indicating they were out of several flavors. Ok, no worries because there were some other ones I wanted to try. As I waited my turn to order, I watched the three servers (two young men and a young lady). These are the behaviors I observed...putting our hands in our pockets, brushing our shirts, rubbing a nose with a hand, playing or squeezing an ear and brushing hair back, brushing hands on our pants, and you get the vibe. No gloves on any of the hands as they proceeded to work on the order just given. And no handwashing! When it came our time to order, I was done. I asked for the manager and was told there wasn't a manager on duty and the young man turned to the other young man, who attempted to take charge although he wasn't a manager. I actually called all three of them together by the cash register so I could explain to them why we were not ordering and why we were leaving the establishment. I proceeded to share my observations to which one of the persons said, "well, we do have a sink in the back and we do wash our hands." I explained that safe serving requirements would be to wash your hands after touching your clothing or body. He kept telling me that they have a sink in the back, to which I said..."and none of you are going back there and washing up." Not wearing gloves seemed odd but they had no explanation for that. The young lady said nothing nor did the other other person who was taking the place of management. It was the taller young man who really didn't want to hear what I was saying and just kept saying "thank you, we will do better." I then watched as he proceeded to start and help another patron and again, no washing of hands and when I pointed this out, he said "yes, we will do better". We left after this and I decided to go ahead and post this, in the hopes the owner/management read it and want to correct the situation. We have been to this establishment a few times before and this is the first time we've experienced this situation. Training is definitely in order as well as making sure you have management or someone in charge that understands the food establishment rules and can be on top of the others working. read more

Wow such a fun family owned ice cream shop. They make everything fresh onsite too. With so many flavors to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming but the sweet cream honeycomb was highly recommended and it was just the right amount of sweet and creamy with nice chunks of real honeycomb. It was a warm day, this was the perfect treat. The shop sits next door to a Mexican restaurant (can't think of the name) right along the busy Arizona Avenue, inside is the cutest cow-themed decor since everything is made from local cow-milk. Got the butter pecan milkshake. Liked the flavor. Not too sweet. The pecans bits were crunchy and tasted fresh. I thought it was going to be sweeter, but it tasted like regular chocolate ice cream. On the menu board, it said that it had a sweet cream base. I also tried the raspberry cheesecake, and it had a strong raspberry flavor. There were lots of people getting ice cream. There were some bench seats around the store. The store was a little small. They were playing some music in the store. However, whenever someone open the door, I could hear loud karaoke coming from one of the nearby restaurants. Contrary to some of the reviews below I thought the service was fine - it wasn't amazing but the person at the counter happily let us try as many flavors as we wanted until we decided what to get. Was a little busy after lunch on Sunday. Someone in front of me got 3 different ice cream flights so that was a bit of a wait. The inside was cute and inviting, enough tables for maybe 6-7 groups. We got 2 kid scoops: triple play (chocolate, brownies, choco chips) and raspberry cheesecake. Both were flavorful and creamy. I didn't like the chocolate chip shavings but that's a personal preference - husband didn't mind haha. Stopped by with a colleague recently for little treat after lunch! We opted for the flight which included six flavors of one's choice! Super fun concept and more than enough for 2 or 3 to share. We got: Blue Moon ( Michigan Classic), Cookies n Cream, seasonal Pumpkin, Coffee Toffee, The Sonoran Desert and The Honeycomb. They were all tasty, creamy and delightful. The space and great with adorable picnic benches for seating and they also have outdoor seating available. Overall, was great experience and would definitely return! One weird thing was their payment system. It wouldn't accept any of our credit cards and kept requesting pins and on the fourth card finally worked. Have been a couple times before and never had this problem. The scoop of ice cream that went into my small cup could roll around in there - space on all sides and didn't even breach the top. It was four modest bites. My kids got cake cups and we were charged for waffle cones. The ice cream flavors are some of the best but after this experience I don't think we will be back. Hubs and I stopped by The Screamery for a late night dessert. Hubs got a float and I ordered the bee's knees, which was in fact the bee's knees. It's a lavender ice cream with a honey swirl. I'm usually a caramel or coffee gal, but after sampling the bee's knees, I knew that was it. You can really taste the quality! It was so good, my husband went back a few days later for it. Like other Yelpers have mentioned, the staff is as cold as ice (cream). We didn't get a greeting and the young staff looked like they did not want to be there.
