    I'm a vanilla girl
    Addy G.

We had just gotten a few slices down the street when I wanted to bring my son and daughter two ice cream to celebrate my son's 5 1/2 year birthday! Pizza and ice cream, what kid doesn't love that? I looked at my phone and I saw the Creamery. It looked like a fun and kid, friendly ice cream place that offers handcrafted ice cream with a really good review. I was able to find parking in the parking structure just behind the establishment. There was no one there so we walked right up. Maddy helped us. She was great. She gave my son a sample of the peppermint chip ice cream and he was sold. He got a scoop of that in a waffle cone, my daughter and I both got one scoop of vanilla with rainbow sprinkles everything was delicious. It didn't seem too heavy. It was a while before we got full. In fact, we almost finished the whole thing. The decor and environment is so cute. At every booth they have a basket full of coloring books, stickers, & games/ fun things for the kids to do. The entire experience was great. A little bit expensive, $20 for three small ice creams, but definitely worth

I had some time to kill while one of my cars were in the shop down the street. It was 109°F on my wall to downtown & ice cream sounded like exactly what I needed. There was no one in there & I asked the nice guy at the what the 3 best flavors were & he said Sweet Cream Honeycomb, Cowboy Cookie ( not a fan of Carmel) & Ooey Gooey Buttercake so I opted for those 2 (I thought it was weird that he asked if it was my first time and I said yes and he didn't offer samples of any of the flavors even though I was the only person in there) If you are a huge fan of honey you will probably love the honeycomb one (it was way too sweet for me, too much honey in the ratio.) Out of the 2 flavors I got I liked the Buttercake one better but to be honest the ice cream was a bit too icy for my liking (Maybe on a hot day like today with not a lot of foot traffic maybe the top of the ice cream melted a little bit and refroze & that's what I got. The service was nice. It's a cool little spot, I like how they have books on the tables for the kids. I just prefer a more creamy & dense ice cream.

Nope. Not it at all and won't be back. Stopped in with my family and from the sewage smell alone we should've left. However, we powered through the smell and ordered. I ordered the butter cake cream, my daughter, the sorbet and my husband had the cowboy ice cream. Every ice cream was extremely freezer burned with the most awful taste. We walked out the store, took a couple of bites and trashed all the ice cream in the parking lot. Not to mention, the price point to ratio is ridiculous. I will say, the young lady working behind the counter was very nice!

I stopped in after lunch to enjoy some dessert. After trying a few flavors, I finally chose a scoop of the ooey gooey buttercake! It was very creamy and actually had chunks of cake in it. The staff was very patient as I debated what to get. The interior has a big cow portrait and the picnic table benches are painted in cow print.

Stopped in for the first time after seeing the Nutcracker. Perfect end to a holiday night! I got a medium with a scoop of cookies and cream and a scoop of fudgesicle. The cookies and cream was so creamy and you can totally tell it's made from scratch! So good. And the fudgesicle tasted just like the fudge pops I used to eat as a kid, and it's vegan to boot!! Scrumptious! Hubby got the sweet cream honeycomb. The flavors were very subtle initially, and had a smooth sweetness, and a nice aftertaste of honey. The bits of actual honeycomb added a surprising occasional crunch that provided a variety in bursts of flavor and texture. Staff was friendly and helpful, and I love that we get to sample flavors before buying (just wish they were compostable since it's a lot of plastic wasted). Love the quaint atmosphere of the shop and the vibrant colors and decor, and there are bonus seats out front to enjoy the crisp 65° AZ winter weather!!

Located in Downtown Chandler, we tried "The Screamery" after a Christmas Eve lunch. The interior had a bit of a strange smell, but appeared clean. The staff was a bit crabby. The ice cream wasn't very good. It's nice to know that everything is "natural", but I had a bunch of ice particles in mine, and my Dad said his was pretty sour. I don't think I'll be back.

The ice cream options alone are delicious! I LOVED the honeycomb pieces inside the ice cream. The cashier was kind and patient with me while explaining the flavors. Decor was simple . The brownie could've been a better consistency.

Looking up ice cream places in San Tan and Gilbert Arizona, The Screamery had popped up on Yelp as one of the top places! This ice cream shop is located in downtown Chandler. We ended up parallel parking in an open spot on the street that was available. The Screamery is a local Arizona ice cream chain located in Marana, Tucson, Phoenix, and Chandler. There are currently 6 Screamery locations. Their menu offers a wide range of unique ice cream flavors. As soon as you walk into the ice cream shop, you'll notice several tables situated throughout and bar seating available too! We ended up selecting the Flights of Ice Cream. This included six sample scoops made to enjoy a variety of different flavors. Ooey Gooey Buttercake: Vanilla ice cream mixed with butter cake pieces. Raspberry Cheesecake: Our cheesecake base swirled with a fresh raspberry puree. Triple Play: Chocolate base, brownie pieces, and chocolate chips. Rough At Sea: Sea salt base, honey-butterscotch swirl with candied pecans, almonds, and pistachios. Cowboy Cookie: Salted caramel base with oatmeal, walnuts, and chocolate chip cookies. Sweet Cream Honeycomb: Sweet cream base with handmade honeycomb pieces from local raw honey. My favorite ice cream flavors started with the following Rough At Sea -- Cowboy Cookie -- Ooey Gooey Buttercake -- Sweet Cream Honeycomb -- Tripe Play -- Raspberry Cheesecake I'm not the biggest pistachio fan, but the rough at sea ice cream is absolutely scrumptious. You must try this flavor out! Butterscotch is one of my favorite ice cream flavors, and all the pecans, almonds, and pistachios mixed in really enhanced the flavor. It was so good! The Cowboy Cookie came in at #2. The salted caramel base was yummy. We didn't get too much flavor from the chocolate chip cookies, but you could taste the oatmeal and walnuts. The Ooey Gooey Buttercake #3 for me. There were a lot of butter cake pieces, which reminded me of a birthday cake flavor ice cream. Even though the vanilla ice cream was the base flavor, you really could taste the butter cake flavoring instead. The sweet cream honeycomb, triple play, and raspberry cheesecake were good flavors, but I wouldn't order those a standard order. I liked the other 3 flavors a lot better! The price was inexpensive, less than $10.00 for the flight sample. There was only one team member at the Screamery when we had arrived. The service was great, though, and she did provide feedback on specific ice cream flavors to us, which was wonderful since it was our first time inside the ice cream shop!

    An Ice Cream Flight!

The ice cream was great. There were a lot of different choices. The prices are reasonable. My first ice cream flight!

Wow such a fun family owned ice cream shop. They make everything fresh onsite too. With so many flavors to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming but the sweet cream honeycomb was highly recommended and it was just the right amount of sweet and creamy with nice chunks of real honeycomb. It was a warm day, this was the perfect treat. The shop sits next door to a Mexican restaurant (can't think of the name) right along the busy Arizona Avenue, inside is the cutest cow-themed decor since everything is made from local cow-milk. I loved they even painted the benches with cow print. I'll have to come back for other flavors but I would definitely come just to enjoy the sweet cream honeycomb all over again!!

All 4 of us rapidly agreed that all the flavors tasted icee' and gritty ! Flavor profiles were lost in the icee texture and this was certainly a far from the creamy texture we expected with a premium ice CREAM!! With regret

Scoop, scoop, hooray! I'm the 400th review for this business on Yelp…read more Since trying Handel's at previous Yelp events, I've had on my radar to try at one of their locations. Especially since my boyfriend loves ice cream. Today we made a lunch date when he was visiting town, complete with ice cream to cool us down on this warm July day in Arizona. We opted to eat in my car with air conditioning, though they have bench seating outside. In cooler months, I'm sure that seating is nice to sit at to enjoy your treat. What We Ordered: - Monkey Business scoop in a dipped waffle bowl: My boyfriend throughly enjoyed and said it was very banana forward; which is a plus for him. I personally hate banana, so he had something for once that I didn't take a girlfriend bite out of. - S'mores scoop in a dipped waffle bowl: Very interesting to have the base be graham cracker, but I really enjoyed. Love the little chocolate bits to add a crunch as you eat, though the mini marshmallows have a weird texture to me. Still a solid scoop, and I'll try other flavors when we return. Definitely looking forward to the location opening on Signal Butte, but glad we didn't wait until that opened to try. Delicious and I'm sure I'll visit the new location opening by my house.

First, the location itself is very small and cramped inside, and there isn't any outdoor seating, which made it difficult to enjoy our ice cream. The biggest disappointment here was the customer service. My friend ordered a milkshake for her two toddlers to share and politely asked if the extra half could be poured into a second cup. The employee had to ask the manager, who immediately said no. My friend explained that other Handel's locations have happily done this before, and even offered to pay for the extra cup. The manager still refused and told her she'd have to purchase two separate milkshakes instead. The request wasn't for extra product--just a second cup for two small children to share. What made the experience worse was the manager's attitude. She came across as rude and dismissive rather than trying to help find a reasonable solution. We understand that every location has its own policies, but customer service goes a long way. Unfortunately, between the cramped space and the poor experience with the manager, we won't be returning to this location.

It was just interesting to have with a place that appeared to be for ice cream. The ice cream itself was pretty good, but nothing to write home about.
