Somisomi is yummy yummy. We stopped by for dessert over the weekend and it hit the spot. It's not too sweet so it's perfect. Service was friendly and quick. There are oddly shaped benches inside that I wish they designed it differently. I swear every kid tries to slide down the bench. They tried to block off one side with decorations but they need to block the other side too. They're waiting for an accident to happen! Anyway, I got the chocolate and milk swirl. I added Oreo crumbs and fruity pebble cereal and had it topped with a macaron. It was really for my son but I got to have part of it. My husband loves the matcha here!
Visited Somi Somi after dinner with my grandma and sister for a quick dessert, and it was a nice little treat. We ordered the banana and matcha soft serve, and as always, Somi Somi's soft serve was incredibly creamy -- this visit was no exception. They weren't busy at all, so we walked right in and got served immediately. The only downside was that our taiyaki fish bread wasn't warm, likely because there weren't many customers and they weren't making them as frequently. Overall, still a good visit for creamy soft serve, but I definitely prefer when the shop is a bit busier so the fish bread comes out hot and fresh.
Coming from LA, Somi Somi was one of my go-to spots, so I was so excited to find one here in AZ! The quality and flavors are just as amazing as I remember. Their soft serve is super creamy, rich, and perfectly sweet honestly some of the best ice cream anywhere. But the real star for me is the stuffed taiyaki. I always get mine filled with Nutella, and it's absolute heaven: warm, soft, and gooey on the inside, with the perfect little crisp on the outside. Paired with the soft serve, it's the ultimate treat. So happy this place exists here now. I'll definitely be coming back all the time, just like I did in LA!
I love this type of dessert place - soft serve/taitaki. And I love that Somi Somi has a rotating seasonal flavor - I've tried corn and banana pudding. I got the banana pudding mixed with matcha. I was so excited for banana pudding, but it tasted like creamy artificial banana. And in the swirl, the banana pudding flavor was overpowered by the matcha. The matcha flavor itself was not particularly very matcha-y either. I had a similar experience when I got the corn/matcha swirl too unfortunately. The seating is also not the best. It's just bench seating, so not very comfortable, and no tables. Service has always been good though!
The service is usually good and I enjoy coming here for a sweet treat. However, I've tried to come in at least three times this past week but it's been closed every time. I don't know what's going on but I think it's very unprofessional to have the store closed on multiple random days. There was even a sign posted that said they'd be back on the 26th, but it was closed. I'm very disappointed with this business and I won't be them my money anymore.
This place is bombbbbb for dessert. The taiyaki was really good and I accompanied it with milk ice cream and peach swirl. The inside was clean and spacious and the workers were friendly.
I love Somisomi! Their soft serve is something I always look forward to when in Chandler or California. Smooth ice cream with fun flavors and complimentary topping. I love the taiyaki cone with Nutella! I think they regularly have matcha, ube, milk, and red bean as their flavors. Sometimes they have limited edition ones! The store has been quiet every time I've gone in, which means quick service! Looking forward to coming back!
We walked in this cute place for the first time. The lady employee was working by herself. She started getting much busier after we ordered. She was very professional, positive, and welcoming. She gave great customer service even under pressure! The matcha ice cream is AMAZING!!!
A delicious little dessert spot! Had to remove a star for the ambiance- there was no indoor seating and for some reason, we were not allowed to sit on the benches while we waited. However, the food was delicious! I ordered an upside-down Ah-boong (filled fish pastry and soft serve) to share.We chose the nutella filling with the dalgona flavored soft serve, and topped with biscoff crumbles and coconut flakes. We also ordered 5 taiyaki to go- Matcha, Black Sesame, Red Bean, Nutella, and Oreo. The soft serve was delicious- it had a subtle, delicate, caramelized sugar flavor that was accented beautifully by the toppings we chose. The crispy filled shell goes together amazingly with the soft serve- my only wish was that the dalgona flavor could have been slightly stronger in the soft serve! The Taiyakis were also delicious- my favorite was the Nutella and the Matcha Custard. The crispy outer shell combined with the mochi-like inside and the warm filling was heavenly! The Black Sesame could have been a bit sweeter, but I appreciate that they have sweet and less sweet options for palates of all kinds. They also keep and reheat well if you are looking for a to-go treat to eat later. A great spot for a delicious dessert!

I always walk by this place since we visit this plaza often but had not made it in. I finally decided to give them a try and wow, was I blown away. The workers were friendly and greeted us as we walked in. They were out of the "fish bowl" but we were told we could get our ice cream in a cup. We opted for an Oreo and matcha swirl in a small cup with sprinkled Oreo dust and two strawberries. The swirl combination we picked was delicious! The texture of the ice cream was creamy and very rich in flavor. The strawberries were super sweet and big! Now I know why this place is always busy - it's pretty good!

My order was called within a minute or two and I was given options of toppings as well as a mini macaroon and strawberry's. The cookies and cream soft serve was delicious but I was not a fan of the matcha. Thats not a fault of somisomi, I just wasn't a fan. The taiyaki was the star of the show I my opinion, it was fresh and crunch but soft. This was my first time trying this dessert and I'm glad I did. The custard filling was tasty, not too sweet. The combo of all three was perfect in my opinion. Staff was friendly and inside was clean and inviting. I will definitely be back and highly recommend checking this place out!
Somisomi has a very minimalist, modern vibe where you walk up and order at a tablet. There was only one group ahead of us so the service was quick. We ordered the Cookies and Cream soft serve in a cup ($4.50) with crushed toppings and macarons, along with an order of two Taiyaki's ($4.95), both filled with nutella. I've visited few Somisomi locations before. The consistency of the soft serve is very smooth, but the highlight of the menu for me is the nutella filled Taiyaki. It was fresh & hot and it definitely balances the cold soft serve. I could also eat the Taiyaki on it's own. My main critique is that the soft serve flavor is very subtle and a bit too mild for my taste. I could barely taste any Cookies and Cream flavor beyond the toppings that were added. Flavors are posted on Instagram and I was excited to see a pistachio soft serve with a take on a dubai chocolate filling inside the taiyaki so I ordered this combo (note this special filling is an additional $1.75). I also added biscoff crumbs and while I only live 10 mins away, the soft serve does melt quite quickly in the short drive despite the cooler weather we had that day. I was excited for the pistachio soft serve, but it was quite underwhelming and honestly, I almost wondered if they had accidentally given me milk since it was quite beige in appearance and if it was pistachio, it was very, very subtle. I wished they had combined the pistachio and matcha soft serve, but not bad. There was a small redemption with the Dubai chocolate taiyaki, but for $8.70 before tax, I would be more inclined to try other desserts instead. read more

The most delicious and fun ice cream I've ever had! The portions are HUGE. I would recommend making a smaller size option for children. Too big for them to finish, parents are more likely to come back if the food doesn't end up wasted for being too much for a child. read more

I always love to get Somisomi wherever I go and I was pleasantly suprised to find one in Chandler when I came for work! My only comments (if this makes it back to a higher up haha): the black sesame ice cream could use a LITTLE more black sesame and the matcha custard is too sweet and concentrated in my opinion haha. Other than that, I love this chain. Service is fast and there's usually space to eat inside or outside with groups. If you haven't tried it, you must. read more

Made the stop on my last night in Arizona to get SomiSomi after having some Vietnamese food for dinner. The Somisomi in Hawaii closed last year so there's nobway to get it anymore. This place is really clean and quiet. The girls working are quiet and nice. I saw that they had Earl Grey and was so excited. The Ah-boong was crispy and perfect. Had a good lining of mstcha custard (that matcha loving me was super excited for!) tasted delicious. I normally don't top my ice cream or soft serve with anything but was sharing this with my sister (she wanted Ube it ube smirked with Earl Grey- the swirl mix choice - but I dislike ube..) can I just say the Earl Grey was perfect?? I love me a good Earl Grey ice cream and damn this was really amazing. It wasn't too heavy in flavor and just the right amount. Honestly would go again for it. read more
Somi Somi in Chandler is a great place if you're craving soft serves. They have a pretty good and unique flavor options too. We tried Ube and really liked it. Every time I take the Taiyaki, I try not to do a filling because it gets very heavy but sure it would be tasty with a filling too. The place has ample seating and is very clean! My all-time favorite spot for soft serve! If you have a sweet tooth, this place hits the mark. Their soft serve is always rich, creamy, and just the right amount of indulgent. My go-to order is the cookies & cream soft serve in an AhBoong (the adorable fish-shaped cone) with a Nutella filling (so good!) I usually get it served upside down, which somehow makes it even better. Recently tried their seasonal peach flavor and it was a pleasant surprise, light, refreshing, and perfect for a AZ HOT day. I love that they rotate flavors regularly, so there's always something new to try without getting bored. The shop itself is small but clean and well-kept. It's more of a grab-and-go or quick sit-down type of place, but that's part of the charm. Highly recommend Somi Somi if you're craving something sweet and unique. I'll definitely be back. read more

Its a habit for me to stop by Somisomi for dessert after eating a bunch of Korean BBQ or coming from a nearby restaurant, and their soft serve and desserts have always been consistent and yummy! Since soft serve is pretty easy to make, service is fast regardless if they are crammed or not, which is great on the staff for being on top of everything. My favorite order is the ahboong with soft serve - and you can get it upside down (served in a cup for less mess) or you can have it regular in which the fish cone is right side up. I recommend to get the upside down especially in this Arizona heat, as it will get messy really fast if you are not a fast eater. Regarding flavors, they usually have 5 flavors that are the same (Milk, Cookies and Cream, Ube, Matcha, and Black Sesame), and one rotating flavor. Along with that, they have 3 flavors that are combinations of whatever is in the soft serve machine, like milk + matcha, ube + black sesame, etc. Then every week (?, might be wrong on the rotation here) they change the combos. I'm always down to try something new, and all of the flavors I've had so far (since going for the past-almost-two-years-ish) have been great! As I mentioned before, staff has always been nice and on top of things - especially Jenny. She has helped me out a couple of times and has always been friendly and giving recommendations that are always spot-on when I try them. Props to her for top-tier service, and I will be coming back here whenever I crave something sweet after a hefty meal. read more

I now only want to eat soft serve from a toasty fresh fish cone! Cutest cones ever! Super unique flavor combinations! This is such a fun place, located in a super cool new to us area. We had fun walking around and looking at the shops! Such a fun treat! My kids loved it. read more
Their soft serve flavor options might be small, but what they do have to offer accommodates most of everyone's taste buds. Having flavors range between not too sweet to very sweet with hints of tartness in some flavors. What we really like about this place is that they have seasonal flavors that are always changing, so there's always something a little different to try. Some of our favorites in general so far have been milk, strawberry, guava, and caramel. One of our go to items include the custard taiyaki! The interior is nice and bright with lots of natural light filtering in, but at the same time is slightly lacking in décor, and they don't offer much for seating options. Unfortunately, service here can be a bit of a hit or a miss depending on how busy they are and if one of their machines is out of order. read more

One of the best ice cream shops I've been to in a long while. It wasn't busy and all the flavors of soft serve looked super tasty. I got the cookies and cream flavor and Nutella filling. You are able to choose as many toppings as you want too!! It was the perfect amount and the girl working there was really kind too. I would definitely come back!! read more

I was so excited to try this place since we don't have them in Denver, yet. Creative flavors soft serve on a buttery fish-shaped waffle, what not to love? And so many topping choices I went a little crazy. Cute decor and nicely lit shop too. The only comment is that I ordered the sweet corn and milk swirl and I only got milk flavor. But the lady already disappeared again into the back so I didn't want to bother her. It was tasty but I wish I could try to sweet corn since I love corn everything! read more

I love ice cream Ube flavor is my favorite but I'm almost always in the mood for somi somi. Soft serve is delicious, taiyaki is usually crispy and light. Service is usually quick unless you get stuck behind a big group. We usually get our ice cream and sit down inside to enjoy. Clean store. read more
Stopped in Friday evening after Kickin Crab and it was pretty busy in here! They now take orders through the touch screen rather than having someone take it for us. Then they'll call your order number for you to come up and choose your toppings. I like that they added more seating in here but the little tables were dirty and needed cleaning. This time, I got matcha ube swirl in a cup topped with oreo crumbs and matcha powder. Can never go wrong with that! The little macaron didn't taste that great though. My friend got the same thing as me but with different toppings and my other friend got the filled fish cones. They both liked their choices. I've been here plenty of times and have always liked the ice cream and fish cones. read more
I went to other somi somi locations in other states but this location has to be the worst. The desser itself looks identical as other places but the ice cream lacks flavor and the taiyakis were soggy. There was no crunch to it whatsoever. Not too sure if I just went in on a bad day but it was truly a disappointment. The service was a bit slow, we asked (I think the manager) who happened to be by us why it taste different and he said, not every location follows the same procedure. What does that mean? I'm assuming for the fish cones, the cooking time is less? Maybe because of the dry heat in Arizona? The interior of the shop could look better as it looks pretty bland. I wish they had tables or chairs of some sort to sit. Overall it wasn't a bad experience but I probably won't be craving it anytime soon.. read more

Hurrah! Arizona finally has a SomiSomi and it did not disappoint. The weekly swirls change every week and you can find the newest flavors on their Instagram. If you never been to SomiSomi, you pick your style: Ahboong, Upside Down Ahboong or just soft serve in a cup. Then you pick your flavor and you can also pick a filling for the Ahboong (Nutella, Custard, Taro or Red Bean) Each ice cream also comes with a choice of a strawberry or macaron and unlimited toppings. We ordered an Upside Down Ahboong with Nutella filling and Cookies & Cream flavor andit was delicious. They also sell taiyaki's which are my personal favorite! I usually love custard filling, but the taro one is better as the custard one wasn't as sweet as I'd expect it to be. All in all, super happy they have a location in AZ now! Plenty of parking in the 99 ranch plaza and the interior is super roomy. read more
YUMMY BUT NO SEATING! I absolutely LOVED my ice cream! I got the matcha and black sesame swirl, taro inside my fish cone, and for the toppings I got sprinkles, fruity pebbles, and coconut! I like how the toppings were all free. The space inside is very large but there is absolutely 0 seating??? I'm unsure why! You have to take your sweet treats to go or stand around the lobby. There are some tables outside in the plaza, but that isn't helpful when it's hot out or rainy. I'll definitely be back but I'd give 5 stars once they add seating! read more
