Been here a couple times now and had good experiences. First time was when we got caught in the lunch rush but service was still very quick and efficient. I ordered one of their Turkey based sandwiches which was delicious and filling. They have several options on the menu and allow customizations or dietary accommodations. Recently we stopped here for breakfast and got an egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel. Not much seasoning on the egg which made it pretty bland but it was probably one of the cheapest egg and cheese bagels you'll find in DC. It gives off nice local cafe vibes and it's also partially a convenience store for quick snacks and drinks. If you need a quick meal or looking to support a small business this is the place to go!

Loves to cook!

Wonderful experience! Great ingredients. Great flavor! They love what they do! Great way to start the day.

Cashier guy may not always be the friendliest but I mean you can get a solid sandwich from here and pretty solid pricing. Cute indoor and outdoor seating and also is a small store with snacks and bakery options.

Amazing how difficult it is to find breakfast before 7am in Washington DC. I guess politicians are not early risers! Regardless, found this place on GrubHub. Never ordered delivery via any service before, but seeing as how my hotel only had a muffin and a moldy orange, I didn't have much of a choice. Ordered the veggie omelette. Came with wheat toast and hashbrowns. The omelette was good, but a bit small. Used to 3 egg omelettes in the heart land, but it will suffice. The hashbrown was like McDonald's, fried but not as crispy. The toast was lightly toasted. I also ordered a hazlenut coffee, just for the fun of it. Adequate. Not great, not bad. Surprisingly warm after a 30 minute drive across town. Not sure what that was all about, but I can't hold that against the store.

Wrapped up my trip in DC with a visit to Uptowner Cafe. Yummy turkey sandwich, reasonably priced, and friendly service!

Convenient. yummy sandwiches, and friendly service. Will visit again when I'm in DC.

This family run business is a must! The staff are super helpful when it comes to accommodating substitutes as well as not rushing you when you order. The sandwiches are SO YUM & FRESH!! The meat is often cooked right in front of you, and the sandwiches are served nice and toasted. So thankful to have this local business close to me.

Convenient little deli in the West End. The prices are reasonable for this part of town for a quick and tasty breakfast and lunch. Love the fact they carry refrigerated Just Ice Peach Oolong tea. The cashiers are helpful too!

BLT bagel was incredible. Travelled from NY and better than any bagel I had there. Service was also really efficient and friendly.

An Italian sandwich the size of Texas... sign me up!…read more I went into this market when I was exploring Georgetown one day and I naively ordered an Italian sandwich and once they received it I realized it was big enough to feed a family. I found the cutest little park bench and decided to dig in. Needless to say I had left overs but I could have found a way to eat this whole sandwich because it was that good! Every topping was homemade and you could tell. Def a must stop in DC.

The sandwiches looked epic and the photos of the place looked adorable for a local joint. We walked over from our hotel in Georgetown and were overwhelmed by the sandwich choices. Caught between the Grinder and the Pastrami, we went with the employee's suggestion for the latter. About 5 minutes later we were handed a wrapped sandwich the size of a football. We found a quiet spot to unwrap and enjoy it and dug in. Frankly, I wouldn't order it again, and I think we would have enjoyed the grinder more. It was just a huge pile of meat on pumpernickel bread with mustard. Flavor was meh. Neither of us was overwhelmed for nearly $25. Props for the cute European goods in the shop, though, and the employees were courteous and friendly. But next time I'll look elsewhere for lunch.

There is metered street parking and commercial lots/garages within a reasonable walking distance from here. They serve wraps, salads, and cold and hot sandwiches. I ordered the Korean Steak Sandwich. It took them about 10 to 15 minutes to prepare my sandwich. They should use a number system for order pickups because people, including myself, had difficulty determining which order they were serving. Many of the sandwich names sounded alike. My sandwich was kind of small for the price, and it wasn't very filling. It was, however, very good. It was flavorful and packed with flavor. The service was ok. It was nothing special. They did their job and did not go beyond or be overly friendly. All in all, I would recommend checking this deli out for some really good sandwiches. They really do live up to their name, the Best Sandwich Place.

I was in the neighborhood for a couple days for work and this shop was only two blocks away. Two things I love- a good sub and a short walk - so it's automatic for me. As long as you're ok dropping $25 on lunch, don't miss this place. Honestly you can probably make this a two part lunch/dinner portion anyway. The subs are big. The toppings are plenty. The bread is perfect. They have my favorite like of drinks, Just Iced Tea, and even Utz Salt and Pepper chips. I heard good things about their sandwiches. My go to is normally Mangialardo's on Pennsylvania Ave in SE DC or Carl's Subbs on Rhode Island Ave in NE DC. I think I will stick to both of them next time. The staff was very friendly and helpful to me as a first timer but the sandwich was totally disapointing! NOT worth it, at all. I ordered a 9 inch capicola, ham, and cheese sub on the hard roll. The roll was very good and fresh but I couldn't taste the cheese or meat in the sandwich because there wasn't enough of it. I tasted the bread, the toppings of lettuce, tomato and onions. I decided to deconstruct the sandwich and found exactly 4 very thinly sliced pieces of meat and 2 very thinly sliced pieces of cheese as pictured clearly in the photographs. I also noticed that the they have different prices for the same type of meats. For example, they have a $29.99 per pound Capicola and one for $9.99 a pound. I asked which went on the sandwich and of course it was the cheaper one. That wasn't surprising and getting my sandwich back to the office. I decided not to eat the rest of the meatless sandwich and just take the loss. I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend a friend to try it
