So glad I did Today's visit was everything that the first visit was not today's visit had welcoming staff that were really pleasant to talk to really good croissants and they made a latte that was quite good The only thing that would've been better is if they actually had soy milk as an alternative milk source... However, they had oat milk and almond milk neither which I will drink so I used whole milk For some reason, the café seemed more balanced aesthetics wise. It seem to work better. What a cute coffee shop! Came in here as we were attempting to kill some time and walk around this little downtown area. Lots of people in here working and even just catching up over a cup of coffee with some friends. I loved the atmosphere in here. They had some unique seating, including a church pew for seating which I thought was so fun and interesting. The menu is pretty simple but the coffee is pour over and they do it right at the counter!!! I loved it and loved the smell. They even had bags you could take home and I kind of wish I did. The coffee smelled AMAZING! I went the basic route and just got vanilla iced coffee with oat milk. It was really good! This location is big with many places to sit and plenty of outlets to work or study. The coffee is good and their prices for food is very decent. On the positive Upper Cup is the throwback type of coffeeshop, the type I still prefer. Not the newish minimal decor posh type which is the standard now. It has the counterculture feel from 30-years ago, the type the sprouted up in the 90s copying the cafe esthetic of the 60s: street artsy, community oriented, a hangout with local rags and tabloids offered to read, community board, and good music. Everything but the sofas. On the negative the coffee and mocha are just so-so. Kind of goldilocks kind of not: not too good, not too bad, but not exactly just right. The barista when we came were in some sort of mood. They seem peeved at each other, ants in their pants, underwear up the crevice, got up at the wrong side of the gutter. They were noticeably short with us but it is all good. In the end, nice place to come read, work, or hang if you are in the area. I stopped in here this morning and got a pour over coffee. There are a few things that I love about this place first, there are so many different ways they make their coffee, I didn't even know some existed. Second, that have a big selection of coffee beans to choose from and a description of taste under them all. Third, they had a great selection of donuts and cinnamon rolls for cheap! They were decorated for Halloween and had wonderful cheery staff. The wait was a bit long as they were packed and pour over coffee takes a bit of time but I'll certainly be back! read more

Cute local coffee shop in the Creekside area of Gahanna. Parking is free in the garage and there was a good amount of seating available at noon on a Thursday. The Iced Caramel Latte I ordered was 5$ and the taste was pretty good. They had a display for baked goods that I had previously seen in other reviews but the cases was completely empty. I've been wanting to try this place for some time now and glad I stopped in. The atmosphere is very warm cozy and quiet. I knew I wanted some coffee and donut but looking at the breakfast sandwiches I decided on that instead. Staff very polite. The coffee of the day was from Guatemala which was pretty good. The sandwiche wasn't bad either, I did have to ask for mayo that made it a lot better. The only downside was the music being choppy going in and out as I was trying to sing lol. I've long believed that Upper Cup has the best coffee in Columbus, which is a bold claim, given the large number of independent roasters in town. I've been frequenting the Olde Towne East location for three years, but having visited the Gahanna location a couple of times now, I have to admit that it's even better. One of the issues I have had with the Parsons location is that the staff is often impersonal and unfriendly -- a tendency that didn't exist when I first started visiting, but began to creep in over the past year or two. I still go regularly to get their ultra delicious caramel lattes, but customer service always feels a little lacking. That's not the case at the Gahanna location, where the baristas are generally friendlier, and the coffee is (obviously) just as good. Two other elements of the Gahanna location truly set it apart from its older sister in OTE. First, the storefront is a lot more spacious. It doesn't have all of the character of the other, but especially in the age of COVID, it's nice to be able to have a lot of separation from other customers when grabbing a cup of joe. But the big standout difference is in the selection of pastries. They have some killer options here, such as the cronut, which is -- like it sounds -- a combination of a croissant and a glazed donut. They're amazingly delicious, and almost worth a twenty-minute drive to Gahanna on their own. Fortunately, with the same amazing coffee as their OTE counterpart, there's truly a lot to commend about this location of Upper Cup. read more

This is my ritual spot to frequent with my two-year-old son. We come here and get our orders and sit outside on the metal in front of the shop. The ambiance is relaxed, and the area in which it's located is fantastic. When I come here with my son, I get him the chocolate milk and myself a blended caramel latte. We visit here no less than four days out of the week. First off, to support a local business and second because they have great, high-quality caffeinated beverages. I used to get frappes from another place that I no longer patronize. I was going into a" blended iced caffeine drink" shock. I have been by this establishment plenty of times and decided to pop in one day. I'm glad I did. I am not a real coffee drinker and was worried I wasn't going to find something that I wanted. I was second in line when I saw this lady receive her two, what looked to me to be frappes. I wondered whether or not I was seeing things, so I asked her what it was that she ordered because I didn't see frappe on the menu. She informed me that it was a caramel blended latte. That sounded wonderful to my ear and tastebuds, and I told the maker of caffeinated beverages in front of me to give me what the last patron ordered. I must say that I love the blend caramel latte and have become addicted . Customer service is pretty excellent, and the vibe is always consistent here. They have wifi, and there are always some people working out of this establishment but not too many. read more

This was my first time going to Upper Cup. The parking is not ideal but it's so cozy and inviting inside. It's spacious enough that you can relax with a cup of coffee without having someone right next to you. I don't drink coffee but they have a wide variety of coffees from different countries. I thought that was cool. They have small speciality donuts in a case. You can tell it's not really a donut shop because there isn't enough for people to come in getting dozens of them. They have these giant cinnamon rolls and glazed croissants that are amazing. So light and fluffy. They also offer sandwiches but I was a little upset they only offer turkey and ham as the meat options. Overall I would go back from the pastries. read more

So I picked this coffee shop after looking on Yelp for a place in Gahanna. While not overwhelmingly great reviews, I especially liked the photo posted of the menu/price board - CHEAP! And also because I checked it out - I took my own mug and saved a little $$. I didn't know where to park, even though I'm a local. I wasn't sure of the Creakside garage - whether it's free or not. So I parked in the city surface lot for FREE about a block and a half away. I got there a few minutes after 1 PM. There were about 5 or 6 customers at 3 or 4 tables. Several employees (or people in general) were hanging out at the coffee bar - with one girl working. I ordered my large decaf and asked about flavored syrups - which THEY HAVE! Both regular and SF. I got the SF vanilla and I don't believe there was an extra cost. The decaf was a pour over - so I watched her grind the beans, put them in the filter and then repeatedly pour hot water over (after steaming out my mug first). It took a while but it was worth it. Hand to god, that was THE BEST CUP OF COFFEE that I can remember. Granted - being a plain decaf with a little flavor, it is hard to be memorable - but this one WAS. It had a rich flavor and was perfect temperature. I drank it over an hour and the last drop was as good as the first. All this - plus a relatively quiet environment with wifi for - wait for it - $1.25. I absolutely will be back. Thanks for a great cup of joe! read more

Never even noticed this in Creekside, but of course Sweetie did, and we went to a friend's booksigning here. The place is open and bright, lots of windows in front. Menu is pretty basic. We got an iced latte and a hot one, plus a donut (for me, and Baby K.) There was a long wait; they were pretty busy. The iced latte was fine, nothing special. The donut was very good; wonder if they make them or get them somewhere? Prices are very good. I still think we will go to Koko if we're nearby- almost as many drink options, which are better (as I remember them,) plus more options for sweets. But this is a nice place to hang out and have a coffee. read more

Great space, lots of seating, terrible beverages. I ordered hot chocolate and it tasted like warm milk colored brown with a weird burnt after taste. My friend said get coffee was about as good as my drink. I ordered a maple mini donut with chocolate drizzle and was equally as disappointed. There was no maple flavor, instead I got stale donut with burnt carmel-like icing. If I'm meeting with someone for business at a coffee shop I like to support the establishment by buying something, not sure I'll return becayse nothing I had was worth the money spent to consume. read more

Cute coffee shop in Creekside with good coffee and a lot of options without being overly elaborate. They have 15 minute parking available in front or the parking garage right next to it. Price is very reasonable (both the pour overs and the espresso drinks). While I do drink Starbucks it is not my favorite and I liked the coffee here way better. (We had a pour over with the Brazilian beans and a latte with skim). Baristas friendly and attentive/did a good job. They also have donuts which were fresh and surprisingly very tasty!! They have a lot of seating and free wifi--isn't the coziest of coffee stores but would be great to get work done. Overall I appreciate their menu sticking to the minimal and doing the coffee and donuts right. Would def be back! read more
