Discovered this place when I was dropping off my dog for dental care at the vet. It seems like a newly opened place. It was clean but just lacked something aesthetically. I also felt the location was a bit awkward. Its right off a round a bout. Getting out of its lot was a bit of a challenge. Lots of traffic. I asked for help selecting a drink. The barista provided assistance but i felt like she didnt like doing this task. I ended up just getting an Italian soda. Wouldnt call it the best Italian soda Ive had but it was okay. Tbo. I would probably travel into old Hilliard and visit the competition next time I want coffee and find myself here again. Well, tbo, thats exactly what I did after leaving. I'm a big coffee guy, and this place is the place for me by Columbus. I'm by this area and the Cinci area and this is still one of the best between both. The coffees good, hot, and reasonably priced. There's always a place to sit and study, sometimes customers are a little loud but with headphones it's fine. Super cute place too, with the bathroom being super nice & smells great because of the wall plug they use. The baristas do a fine job & never are rude or give me the wrong thing. The New Grounds Festive coffee flight line up change every month and can't wait to see what would it be for December. Not to mention, this place is super cozy. Plus the shop is surrounded with local product for you to shop. They may looks similar but the flavor is different. Some taste more subtle and some are richer. Tried a new coffee shop earlier this week. Place was really clean, and coffee and Scone was delicious. They also have a gathering room, if you had a small meeting or group. They had several people working so the drive thru and inside items came out fast. Restroom was very clean. read more

We have been here twice. Just realized I didn't write a review last time. This is a great little local coffee shop. They have a variety of drinks. Even bubble tea. They have a buckeye latte that is amazing. It's a signature drink. They have pastries from Der Dutchman in Plain City which is cool. They have a drive thru that's always busy. It's a very cute little shop. They have a nice indoor seating area with couches and tables. They sell some really nice local crafts in the lobby. I got an iced caramel mocha and omg it's delicious. Makes me want to try it hot too. Next time! My husband their other signature drink. A New Grounds mocha. They do not skimp on the Carmel and mocha syrups that is for sure! Lovely little coffee shop that's definitely underrated in Hilliard. The vibe is very nice, and the staff is super friendly. We loved looking at all their decor, especially the candles. I am always happy to support a locally owned business, so this review kind of bums me out to write. To start off with the positive, they have plenty of parking and a drive through window, which is convenient. The rest of my visit just was not as positive. Very small space with limited and uncomfortable seating, as others have mentioned. They seem to specialize in blended and sugary drinks, with limited variety of "purist" coffee styles. The young (and hardworking) staff was clearly overwhelmed on a busy Saturday and they could have used about two more people helping out. Oddly, they did not have any dairy (cream, half and half, milk) out and available to add to your coffee. They had a large bottle of flavored Coffee Mate, which I have never seen at a coffee shop before. I wish them much success, but definitely room for improvement. read more

I had an okay visit at New Grounds Coffee House. It's a small coffee shop in a pretty boring area of Hilliard. The location may not be exciting, but this is a nice shop if you would like to enjoy some alone time. It's not busy like the corporate chains. That makes it preferred over them. I like supporting local businesses so it's good to see places like this. It may not have the variety of something like Starbucks. The good thing is they are knowledgeable of what they have. It's also nice because employees aren't like robots having to memorize a whole bunch of items. They have weekly coffee specials that change. I think New Grounds Coffee House is better for those looking for some good but affordable coffee along with friendly service. It's not as big of a menu as the corporate chains but this allows them to make what they do have better. Great drinks, Awesome decor, but the New management is Horrible!! Before if you ordered 5 drinks you got 5 Star punches, 1 for each drink. Suddenly the new management has changed the reward system and now it doesn't matter how many drinks you get the reward is the same, only 1 star punch per visit! A complete and total sham!!! I love the coffee and the options available for "fancy" drinks. You can't come here and not order the Buckeye latte at least once. Whether you order it hot, iced or frozen, you can't go wrong with all of that peanut butter! They also have almond milk, which is super important to me! The staff is very friendly except for one girl I usually see in the morning (around 7) who obviously does not want to be there and seems generally annoyed constantly. I get it, I can barely get out of bed now, let alone when I was in high school, but maybe an early morning job wasn't the right choice! I hadn't heard much about this coffee shop, but I was in the area and needed somewhere to go for a while. I love supporting a good local company so I hopped on over. When I walked in there were three employees working and one customer ordering at the register with no cars in the drive-in. That being said, I wasn't greeted or even acknowledged. At the register, I was given a short "What can I make you" and when I responded with an iced buckeye she was even shorter in asking if I wanted it iced. Three strikes right there, but I still stayed around to get some studying done. The coffee was decent, I really didn't get any peanut butter flavor in my drink. While I was studying the girls loudly joked and discussed one of them starting their freshman year on campus and ignored the four other customers that came in during that time frame. So to summarize, the coffee was good- the service was not. read more

It has a drive-thru that isn't 20 cars deep like SBUX - what more could you ask for! I used to go here all the time when I lived here years ago and stopped when I moved out of the area. It was exactly how I remembered it! It's never really crowded, has a good variety of drinks and baked goods (some from Der Dutchman- yessss!!) and their staff is super friendly. My one and only grievance with this shop is that their drinks are a little sugary (candy tasting). I'm sure I could figure out how to get it modified to my liking, but I always forget how sugary they are for my liking before my next visit. Their Buckeye with white chocolate and peanut butter (REAL PEANUT BUTTER) is amazing. They can pretty much make anything hot, cold or iced, too. I'll be back! read more

New Grounds Coffee House is like many suburban coffee shops with little foot traffic. It feels like a two-bit Starbucks imitation. The shop is located in a strip mall near the intersection of Scioto-Darby Rd. and Cosgray -- there are points against it right away. Who goes here? Mainly soccer moms and high school kids. Not that there is anything wrong with those two groups of people. They just don't tend to foster a super-rad coffee house ambiance and community. The room is plenty bright and there is free Wi-Fi, but the seating is uncomfortable. I can't imagine wanting to stick around here too long. Oh, and there's a salon in the back. It's out of the line of sight, but still...weird. They serve Crimson Cup Coffee from right here in C-bus. That's pretty cool. And the shop serves tasty bagels that I can vouch for. read more

I had the iced mocha. My brother the frozen buckeye. Both were delicious. My mocha tasted like it was made with skim milk. But it was my bad, I didn't ask for anything specific. They were pretty quick. They also have BUBBLE TEA. So i wont have to drive to Dublin anymore to get it. Which will be nice. I do have to say that most of the employees were nice besides maybe one who seemed like she wasn't thrilled to be working there. But I don't let that get to me. Could have been a bad day. So... I love this spot because they offer sugar free options. Do to medical reasons and recent surgery I have strict dietary restrictions which limit choices. I have to have sugar fee and almond milk... no dairy. This afternoon, 1 of the 2 girls working had her boyfriend there and was distracted. The other girl was working her butt off. I did catch the girl who was distracted making my drink with Whole Milk. I think it is SUPER important that some people might be picky about their drink that they really take into consideration that some customers have medical dietary restrictions, especially allergies. She was upset I wouldn't take the drink made with whole milk. Though I strictly requested almond milk and it was in the receipt. But... I just hope maybe management would literate into why some customers are so picky with their drinks and with some times being busy that they don't have a boyfriend or whatever taking up their time. It limits mistakes and more customer focused. I'm just surprised she was doing this while they're so busy with only 2 people working. read more

Drinks are great and we drive 20 minutes to get here each time. I never try to say anything but the employees are rude as hell. They told us to order whenever and we said we were ready and it was silence for a minute so we said sorry and asked of they heard us and the girl yelled "YEAH GO AHEAD" like sorry, we were just trying to make sure you heard us. Hands down my favorite cup of black coffee in Columbus. And I've tried a lot. Great seating area inside, but offers a drive through if you're in a hurry. Also nice community gathering area in the back for larger meetings. Staff is mostly a younger crowd (high school?) which makes me happy to support, and they are always pleasant.
