We visited the new location for one line coffee in the Franklinton neighborhood. We heard they served breakfast, so this prompted us to try them out. Where I still loved my coffee and am a one line coffee fan, I really didn't fall in love with the new location. As soon as I walked inside I found the aesthetics problematic for me. This was a L shaped space. One side had upholstered and armchairs, which were all nice but not enough seating for customers. They could of used the space more effectively to create a bit more seating but what they had on the left side of the shop was nice, just not efficient. What wasnt great was the color choice on the walls. I felt that they made a mistake painting the entire shop's walls a washed lavender. I felt it worked on the sofa side but not on the barista side. Then there was the large square barista station itself that took up 70% of the floor space, which seemed also inefficient. Another 10% were shelving that displayed their merchandise. That didnt leave a lot of room for more seating. They clearly needed more seating, as we ended up not getting breakfast and getting our coffee order to go vs eating there as there was just no place to sit and eat-- as you had people who were finished with their coffee and remained there working on their laptops. How they concentrated enough to read inside this place is a mystery... it was very loud. Not relaxing in any sense. We grabbed our coffee and left. read more

One thing about One Line- it is more than a coffee shop! My stop to study, indulge in a LARGE cinnamon bun, and sometimes get a glass of wine. It is only right for this shop to hv a large option for food and throw a few events or two. A specialty latte and roll runs about $12 but I never finish the rol for the next two days if I am good. The atmosphere is welcoming. The parking is plenty with some 30 minute spots for in/outs. Definitely on the list. read more

But I'm so grateful to have been able enjoy the tomato basil scone as my last public meal for the time being. It was so warm, perfectly moist/dry-balanced, and pasta-reminicent. Milligan's maple latte did not taste particularly like maple but that's ok. It also did not taste like Milligan, whoever that is. Interior is very spacious and has adorable wood and grey tones. Not too noisy too, so a great study spot! My only complaint is that you can only be logged onto the wifi for 90min-2hrs at a time so you have to keep getting up to get wifi codes from the workers. Coffee shop was easy to find about 10 minutes from north side of city. Coffee was average. Had an iced lattee with bananna bread syrup. Coffee had little flavor and syrup was unimpressive - basically some cinnamon and that's all. Shop was decorated heavily with LGBT flags and materials. Stopped by One Line on a Sunday and it surpassed my expectations. Parking was a breeze (thanks Columbus for free parking on Sundays). They have street parking or a lot in the back. The inside is pretty spacious and has a kitchen as well as barista area in the middle. They offer a variety of coffees, but also have beer and wine -- one stop shop! There are plenty of different seating options, and we were able to snag one of the booths which was nice. The wifi is free, but you have an initial 2 hour limit and then must ask an employee for a specific code to continue using. This was frustrating at first, but as soon as two hours was up we were ready to go anyway, so it was a nice prompt that we had already been there quite a while. In the afternoon, me and my partner stopped by here. I was intending to get the coffee, but I was enticed by the happy hour 1/2 special from 2 pm to 6 pm. This area is mixed-use development. You have your Yellow Brick, Makers Social, River and Rich apartments, and just all hipster-core stuff. The coffee shop had nice lighting but with adjustable shades, if you want. The bathrooms were very clean. I had a Cannon Blast by Brewdog, and she had the latte with oatmilk. One Line Coffee does have good coffee. I've had the Americano, previously. Franklinton needs a coffee shop like this to bring people together. Nice seating to encourage work and conversation. I prefer it to the Stauf's in GV, where I live. Just because it doesn't feel as crowded with all the tourist traffic that you get from Book Loft, Pistacio Vera, and more. I think the prices are pretty reasonable. Tad cheaper than the Stauf's, I think. Parking isn't an issue here. Plenty of on-street options, and there's even a parking garage (though I don't suspect you will need it). read more

I recently found out about the Franklinton location and decided to come in one day. It's a pretty big store for a coffee shop. They have beer and wine also with a happy hour from 2-6PM. I have been obsessed with their iced honey lattes. The only thing is that if you need a dairy free alternative, it costs $1.35! My $5 latte turned into $6.35 because I have to get almond milk. I personally think that's pricey for a milk alternative. Their regular milk, I believe, is in a nice glass bottle which looks like it's locally sourced. I could be wrong. They don't have as many coffee options as a regular coffee shop, but that's probably because they sell alcohol also. This One Line Coffee location has been a great place to get work done during the pandemic. This River and Rich/Franklinton location is big enough to house at least 12 people comfortably in social distance and even more coming through to pick up coffee. What I enjoy about the space is that it is bright and clean. The little paper tabs for disinfecting the table have been particularly helpful in keeping stuff clean for the next party. Me and my friends have been coming here for the last 4 months on enough to work on projects together. 5 stars for the happy hour booze experience!! The wine and beer rang up at $10 and I literally asked wait is that enough? The staff said... it's happy hour and the deal is just that good! Learned that HH is every day 2-6 pm where it's 50% off drafts, $1 off wine pours, and $1 off food. Loved the huge windows and natural light. A lot of people working or studying in there. It's really amazing to have a coffee place like this in the neighborhood. And I am guilty of being obsessed with their scones! The coffee and the atmosphere to study is great too for sure! I'm very pleased to see that One Line Coffee has made a home in the growing artsy neighborhood of Franklinton, right off Rich St. For starters, there's street parking out front and garage parking in the back. No excuse to not visit people! Once inside the space is open, has a ton of natural light thanks to giant floor to ceiling windows, and the seating is plentiful. The restroom is also gender neutral and clean as can be. I loved the light lavender colored walls and barista station right in the middle of the floor (similar to the one in Short North). There's something about this layout that makes the atmosphere feel like a small community. This location of One Line not only offers coffee and tea options, but they also offer beer, wine, and a small food menu. During my visit, I stuck with a nice chamomile tea (it was a cold snowy Saturday) and it's exactly what I needed. I can't wait to come back! read more

One Line Coffee is my new go-to coffee shop in Cbus. With locations in the Short North & Franklinton, you can't go wrong. After many recommendations, I stopped in for the first time this week. I am definitely a coffee lover, so I was excited to go to One Line after all the raving reviews I've heard. For starters, One Line has the cutest interior. I love the vibe, with all the plants and large windows for an outdoor lighting feel. It put me in such a good mood! Their social distancing and mask policy also made me feel very safe and comforted. As for the coffee, I ordered a soy latte (per usual) and a chocolate almond scone. The coffee was warm and delicious, I loved the flavors of the coffee and the soy milk they used. But, the scone was 100% my favorite part. The scone was perfection in sweetness, flavor, and texture. I thought everything was delicious. The salads didn't have meat options but they were a generous portion at $7 and under a piece. The Golden Milk was flavored with a nice mix of spices and was perfect for a slightly breezy day. The space is bright, clean, and very distanced because of COVID. Listen, I love my local Stauf's at the Idea Foundry. I love Bottoms Up, as well. But there are at least three things working in One Line Franklinton's favor right now. #1: Convenient- I live in one of the R& R buildings, so I can just grab one of the best lattes in the city on my way out the door. However, this doesn't really mean anything to anyone living outside of R&R. #2: The Hours: Open later than 3 or 4! Now I completely understand why the other two previously mentioned shops have the hours they do, but since I'm one of those lucky people who can drink espresso before bed without any impact to my ability to fall asleep ASAP, I'm loving that I can get an 830pm latte. Speaking of which - do you like beer and wine, but would like to have it on a more chilled out setting than one of the nearby breweries?? Well, now you can! While I haven't checked out the selection yet, it looks pretty alright, if not very extensive. The food offerings are so on point - there's a cinnamon roll I IMPLORE you to try. Creamy, buttery "icing" with apples and nice, chewy, caramelized stuff all over the bottom, yet somehow, not at all that sweet(which is how I prefer it)...you might need you share with someone because this thing is generally monster-sized and really filling, but I won't judge if you don't ;D Speaking of things not too sweet - the thing I love most about One Line is the fact that you can get a mocha, vanilla, maple, or honey latte and it just tastes like the thing without so much freaking sugar and without really being sweet. The decor and ambience are pretty run-of-the-mill for a modern cafe - sparse, clean, open, and light. Works for me! I love this place and I'm going back every.single.day. Final FYI: don't let the pain in the *ss parking in that area put you off; they'll validate parking up to an hour (I think) in the parking garage in the back. I wish I could give zero stars. I ordered two large ice teas. The one was practically water. The second was sweetened. There was a bunch of sugar just sitting at the bottom and it tasted horrible. She didn't make enough anyways, so she just dumped more ice in it. Great solution. After she said she followed the directions and planned to just remake them the exact same way. They went straight in the trash. You should consider making iced tea ahead of time. And put enough loose leaf tea in your customers drinks.
