Yes!! Go. It's great. There's a parking lot for mobile commuters. Come along! You're greeted from the street, the aromas are present from the outside in & began with a couple outdoor seating situated over a bright sunlight, no shade. It's welcoming upon entry. The interior has cool art attached to the exposed brick walls with a floor to ceiling storefront window, loaded with plants. The ambiance is moved by the great choice of urban music, a total vibe. With ample staff and a mere full house, I was able to quickly place an order that was swiftly made. They were out of an ingredient but offered to supplement it. Product was great with a fair value. Service was wonderful. Not good for large groups, tables are tiny.

10/10 for service, cappuccino, price, and experience. I shall be coming back! This really felt like a community place filled with locals who are so friendly to new comers like me. Love!

Great little coffee shop. The sense of community is very apparent. The coffee has a unique flavor; it took me a little while to get used to it, but nonetheless, it was good! The PBJ Sandwich was excellent.

Love the ambiance in here, super cute. I got a sugar-free vanilla latte, and it was very sweet and delicious.

The coffee is amazing! I love the taste. I always order an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and add cinnamon! My go-to! The service is always fast and friendly. The music is good. It's on the smaller side but there are still various places to sit to accommodate the vibe you want!

My husband loves coffee and while in Columbus we decided to stop by this cute little neighborhood coffee shop. We enjoyed everything about Upper Cup Coffee the feel and ambience. He ordered coffee, I ordered green tea and we shared a Spicy Turkey sandwich, which was delicious! We give it 4 stars all across the board!

I finally made it to the Old Towne East location of UpperCup and I'm so glad I did. I just so happened to be in the neighborhood and desperately in need of a pick me up and I got just that at this Black-owned establishment. For starters, they have a parking lot, which makes it so easy to run in and grab a cup of coffee. Once entering it's hard to miss the vibrant colors of the wonderful local art on the walls and the luscious plants soaking up the sunlight from the giant windows facing the street. They have upbeat music playing, a good selection of seating, and it has a whole vibe... I liked it! The service wasn't super friendly as I barely got a few words from the person that took my order, but my drink was delicious. I ordered a vanilla oat milk iced latte and I usually nurse my coffee, but I downed it much quicker than I normally would. Next time I'm in the area and in need of a bit of caffeine, I'll be back.

Small coffee shop with a great vibe. The staff is friendly and I love that the counter is covered with different stickers. I got a vanilla latte and it was very smooth, not too sweet and a great price. Its was around 3.50 for 12oz. The baristas do latte art which is a nice touch. It looks like they also have some food options that sound appetizing. If you're in the nationwide children's area, I would definitely come here for my caffeine fix

    Checking out this coffee shop!

I've been on a journey trying new coffee shops around the city! And coffee shop has some goooood coffee!! I got the Carmel Iced Latte with Oatmilk! Which was phenomenal, the service was great. The atmosphere seemed as though it had a cool / laid back vibe. I got my coffee to go and by oh boy was I happy with my order! Thank you Upper Cup Coffee!! If you are in the area, or just wanting to try a new place, stop by Upper Cup and get some coffee!

If you're looking for a good cup of coffee and a on the go sandwich, this is a good spot. With its hole in the wall vibe it makes you want to come back for more if you're in the OTE area. Not much seating inside and can at times feel crowed if its busy. But when the weather is nice and the door is open it is nice. They also have a little bit of outdoor seating as well for those nice days.

There's not a whole lot I can say about this cafe because I get coffee to go and am not a coffee connoisseur. However, it's worth checking out. The coffee is satisfying, the cafe is bustling with people who are solo or being social, and it has a cultured atmosphere. The parking is meh on some days, but it's nice to see that corner of Old Towne East busy!

    Cronuts!

Working in the vicinity of Upper Cup for the majority of my career has allowed me many of spiced Chai and on a rare past occasion, a seat on one their cozy couches for a meeting or to catch up on some paperwork. The vibe is chill, quiet, and cozy, with original artwork adorning the walls. They are always busy, but efficient, as well as friendly. The staff seem to be doing a great job with social distancing guidelines too. And the Chai served is not overly milky, and has a nice spice to it. Today I tried a cronut for the first time and it was absolutely heavenly. Basically the lightest, fluffiest, and most perfect glazed donut without being too crusty or flaky if that makes any sense. I enjoy small coffee shops, and Upper Cup is one of my favorites. If you are in the Old Towne East area I would recommend stopping in and checking it out!

A Late Lunch at The Brown Bag Deli - German Village…read more Tucked away on Mohawk Street in historic German Village, The Brown Bag Deli is the kind of place that feels both casual and quirky the moment you step inside. The walls are painted like blackboards, with the menu handwritten in chalk, giving the space a friendly, eclectic charm. It's the kind of spot that invites you to slow down and savor a sandwich that's been carefully thought through. As a former chef, I tend to pay attention to the details--flavor balance, texture, presentation--and our late lunch at Brown Bag had plenty of those little moments worth noticing. My Sandwich - The #1 on Ten Grain I went with the #1: roast turkey, house-made coleslaw, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing, all stacked on hearty nine-grain bread, grilled and served warm. True to the deli's name, it arrived wrapped in paper and tucked into a simple brown bag, accompanied by a crisp kosher dill pickle. The turkey had a gentle smoky undertone that stood out nicely against the slightly melted Swiss. The coleslaw was rough-cut, lightly dressed, and added a crunchy, fresh contrast to the rich Russian dressing. At $14.25 a la carte, the sandwich was generous in portion and satisfying, but I found myself thinking this would be the perfect sandwich to split--especially if you're also adding sides. I paired mine with Molly's macaroni salad. It had all the right components--peppers, onion, celery, chopped egg--but for my taste it leaned a little dry. A touch more creaminess could have taken it from "good" to "great." My Wife's Choice - The #16 Classic Club Candi went for the #16 Classic Club: roast turkey, thick-cut bacon, lettuce, tomato, and herb mayo on sourdough. At $14.50, it was every bit the traditional stacked deli club, with layers of flavor you expect. She gave it the thumbs-up. Like mine, her sandwich was served with a pickle, and she added a side of broccoli salad. Flavor-wise, it had promise, but it could have used a bit more seasoning to brighten things up. We also shared a bag of rosemary and garlic kettle chips--crunchy, flavorful, and a good complement to the sandwiches. Price vs. Value Our lunch came to $42.50 before tip, which pushed the total to nearly $50 for two sandwiches, two small sides, and one bag of chips. As someone who's worked in kitchens, I understand the rising cost of ingredients and the challenge of keeping margins while delivering quality. That said, I couldn't help but feel that for the price point, a sandwich should come with a side included. It would make the value match the taste. Final Thoughts The sandwiches were definitely the highlight--thoughtful combinations, good quality ingredients, and prepared with care. Would I go back? Absolutely. But next time, I'll likely split a sandwich, skip the sides, and leave room for dessert--the display case looked tempting. The Brown Bag Deli is a German Village staple for a reason: it's straightforward, unpretentious, and delivers on flavor. Just be prepared for prices that lean higher than your average deli stop. Until next time, I'm Brian -- and remember to Take the Trip! (And maybe the dessert next time, too...)

The crispy chicken cutlets were so well done that they were hard to bite through and that just ripped apart the now stiff old rolls, and of course now everything is pouring out. The bread is not the same quality a year ago, in fact I saw a delivery of bread and I thought I saw everything was made in house. I'm kind of at the 1,2, strikes you're out because let's face it these aren't cheap subs and feeling ripped off while covered in your subs droppings is the worst feeling, I'm not to eager for a possible 3rd disappointment. We really wanted Frenchi's, so we drove up to this OG location. No line which is great! A nice woman was working the counter. We got our sammies and brought them home. They were as solid as always, but there's some things I have to note: Frenchi himself always made our sandwiches to perfection. Toasted, hot, perfectly made. The two times we had another employee make them, they are just different. Same ingredients, but different ratios maybe? Today my husbands Eiffel came super toasty and meats/cheese heated up in a microwave (or toaster oven maybe?) My Buckeye always used to come warm, but only if Frenchi made it. Twice now, I got barely toasted and my meat wasn't warmed at all. Also, man I loveeee the house made chipotle mayo but today was just way too much sauce. Yes, I should have spoken up about what I specifically wanted, but part of my reviews need to include things like consistency. Today was fine, but not the 5 star I've come to expect. One star off for the other location being closed and not posted anywhere. One star off for inconsistent sandwiches.

Granted the extremely late delivery wasn't the restaurant's fault (necessarily)... However, because they use Door Dash for delivery, they're ultimately responsible by proxy. Add in that the delivery driver spoke no English, tried to kick our English Staffy who ran out whilst smiling to say "hi" (if you know anything about Staffy's, you know they love people and don't have a mean bone in their body), our food was cold because it was delivered 1.5 hours late, and I was about to lose my flipping mind. Now onto the food... These were quite honestly some of the worst subs we've ever had. Subway is miles ahead of this hot garbage, and it's not remotely close. The food was $50 for two puny half filled subs, inedible coleslaw (absolutely disgusting), a pickle, and a GF cookie (that was not delivered). Now onto the really bad part... Within 30 minutes of eating this trash, both my wife and I had to run for the toilet (I'll leave it at that). Bottom line... Screw this place. Additionally, having had a Goodman's Deli mile high corned beef sandwich when I lived in Cleveland, I had even higher expectations. Their most popular sandwich is the Reuben so I went with that. Katzingers did not meet them. When I arrived to pick up my sandwich I was shocked the line wasn't out the door to place orders before they closed and the dining room had maybe 6 people in it. There were about 6 to go bags on the shelf along with mine. When I mentioned to the cashier that I was surprised it wasn't busier, she said it'll be busier tomorrow. I said the day after St Pat's? No answer. Another not good sign in my mind. When I got home, the wrapped sandwich was bigger than my hand but not very tall. The paper had areas of grease which is a good sign for this sandwich. The corned beef itself was tender but there wasn't as much of it, maybe an inch high and 1/3 of the bread had no corned beef. I also could not taste the thousand island dressing. The rye bread was toasted but pretty soggy. The crust was mostly crunchy. The bread slices were paired upside down putting a narrower side a larger side against each other. There is not enough sauerkraut and it is not very sour. I was given the choice of a dill or garlic pickle but I cannot tell you how it was because they didn't put it in the bag. I expected this sandwich to have so much meat in it, I could eat for multiple days for $18. Again, disappointed. Maybe I should've gotten the deli sized version but paying that much for a sandwich... The inside of the deli is fun and it's obvious it's been around a long time and has been well loved. I wanted to like Katzinger's but since the price and the quality don't match, I cannot.
