I have lived on this planet for 40 years and my life will be split into two defining eras - My Life Before Upland Donuts and My Life After Upland Donuts or as I like to say MLAUD. I had a co-worker set her alarm for 3:45am to beat the line and get access to these incredible breakfast delights...she braved the massive, awe-inspiring line and battled fellow Uplanders to bring a box of these tasty treats to the office. And boy was her lack of sleep worth it. I had the sprinkles, because I always eat the sprinkles - a little bit of nostalgia for my forgotten childhood. I remember that first bite as a single tear streaked down my face and warm memories floated through my head with each sweet bite. A full sensory experience, I saw the donut, I smelled the donut, I touched the donut, I tasted the donut...MLAUD, MLAUD indeed. The most amazing cream puffs I've ever had are made here at a sweet mom and pop shop! They open Tuesday to Sunday from 5 am to 12 pm, closed only on Mondays. The first time I stopped here was a Saturday around 11:45 am. They were completely sold out! The young lady working behind the counter was very helpful in providing their hours and offering the suggestion that advance ordering is possible. Of course, I had to tell my husband about this spot so a few days later, I was back around 8 am & there were 2 people ahead of us placing big orders! And shortly after we arrived, a line formed behind us! We tried the chocolate glazed, regular glazed, maple donut, cream puffs, apple fritter. Everything was absolutely delicious. We bought enough to try the following days.... I don't know what's in their recipe, but it's worth top dollar and yet this lovely gem offers these tasty morsels at reasonable prices. So I haven't been out much because of COVID but was craving a glaze donut! I'm not that crazy about donuts but I decided to get one to quench my craving lol My sister told me these donuts were THE BEST! And I was like yeah yeah, everyone says that about a donut place they prefer. So my sister and I decided to go get some donuts. It was about 6:30am. The line to this place was looooong! I was like "wow I guess being at home so long is making everyone want donuts" lol we drove away and saw other donut places now open and they had no line. I was like wow, I guess ppl really like that donut place. I told my sister let's just wait, anyway it's not like we have anything else to do but sit at home LOL So we went back and waited. Took about 30 minutes to get inside to order. Meanwhile the line continued to grow. DONUTS: WOW! Love Upland donuts. Their hours are crazy 5-12 pm and you gave to arrive early to get the best donuts and there will certainly be a line ( weekends especially) but it's worth the wait. The donuts are fresh and delicious and it's one of the few donut places that still makes French curlers. A favorite is their cream stuffed donut holes. I can eat about a dozen myself so make sure you order plenty. They also serve drinks ( coffee milk etc. ). The staff is friendly and efficient and the line goes by quickly. I usually stay away from donuts because they are so bad for you, but when it's a new place, I would try a piece to judge how good/bad the donut is. Upland donuts, I ended up eating 2 full donuts! I understand why they are so popular and there's always a line at this place now. Because their donuts are so fresh, fluffy, smells great, and taste even better! The glazed ones just melt in your mouth. And the old fashion ones, well, they also will just melt in your mouth. One of my pet peeves with donut places is that many will reuse the oil, and I can taste it right away if they reuse the oil, there is a distant smell and taste to the donuts when they reuse the oil to fry the donuts. Omg such a great place! A co worker of mines told me about this place and since I live close by I had to try them. I went before work around 630am and there was a little line already... they had to minimize the number of people in there for covid guidelines. Also make sure to bring cash ... it's cash only.
