I was lucky to get 6 hot and fresh glazed twists (my favorite donut!) off the rack from the back and 6 other good ones from the front. You can't go wrong with any of their donuts even the cake donuts. They are all super light, fluffy (raised ones), soft (cake ones), and delicious! Their donuts don't stay displayed behind the clear glass case for too long because they'll get sold in a jiffy. They literally fly off the rack! LOL Yes, they are that busy! It appears their donut size has slightly shrunk a bit and price has gone up again. It's now $19.95 for a dozen of assorted donuts either build your own or let them pick. Still worth every penny! Every time I have been here, the owner lady is here. Sometimes, she may have one other staff member to help her at the front. Owner and staff are always nice and friendly. Service is usually very quick. It's just the long line that you have to wait for most of the time unless it's at opening time or near closing time. What I noticed is that they may not have all the donuts out if it's too early in the day unless you pre-order them. They close on Mondays. They open on the other 6 days from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM. How nice to work early in the morning and have the rest of the day to do whatever they want. But then again, they probably have to go to bed early in order to wake up really really early in the morning to get the donut dough batches ready for each day. My go- to donut shop! They have a wide selection and always fresh! Their donuts are so soft and full of flavor but not too sweet! Their ham and cheese croissants will always have me coming back even if I ever move away from the city. My sister moved to Washington and when she moved back, this was a spot she revisited on one of her first days back. There is typically a line but it always moves fast. It's a small spot so the line can't look deceiving long at first but again, they are quick with their service. I always get a coffee no matter what I get, and it is just the cherry on top! Omg! I never thought I would find the best donut shop! And I'm a donut connoisseur too. A hidden gem located in north Upland in the Stater Brothers shopping plaza on 16th st and Mountain Ave. It's the only donut shop where you can get warm donuts regularly and that's because there's so many customers, they have to keep making them throughout the morning! In fact, when I made it inside the donut shop, I saw the guys in the back off to the side steadily making new batches. One person was layering the chocolate glaze ever so smoothly. Most people are ordering an assorted dozen (including me - and a dozen variety donut holes) when I was there so donuts go very quick! The staff was very helpful and nice with a smile. Kids, young adults, grandma-grandpa, everyone was there. They're super puffy, the glaze are spread perfectly and evenly. The powdered sugar donut holes are amazing! They remind me of those Hostess powdered mini donuts, but so soft, still warm, and freshly made!!! That's childhood memories right there for me. Don't even get me started about their jelly filled ones. When you break them open, it's like watching an Italian pizza cheese pull! The custard or raspberry oozes out ever so evenly. #9 for 2024 I love Krispy Kreme but their prices are higher than what I would like. So, I keep it to a reward treat when I hit a goal achievements. Those are few. I love a good glaze. My craving was not getting fulfilled. Now that I found Upland Donuts I am so impressed with this family owned business running over 30 years now near my backyard. I've read there can be lines. They can get sold out before noon. I have visited after 11am. Guess I've been lucky. No line and not completely sold out everything. They still had the main donut I wanted. The glaze. Service is very friendly if not too robotic but still a pleasant experience. Very efficient in handling the customer transactions. It's a small shop. Not really a place you want to sit and eat too many people coming in out. Even though it wasn't busy the flow was consistent. What do I look for in a glaze? A dough that's not like a cake. When I push the dough it's airy and collapsed easily but springs back delicately. The glaze is light not thick making it too sweet to eat that I'm going to choke. If you want to know what I'm talking about order the glaze. If you want to go big get the glaze twist. So good. Or the glaze holes. Those are just as good easier to eat. I'm not a big fan of the apple fritter my SO wanted to try it. I gotta say that was the best I've had. I would order that again. Not often but every now and then. Another delectable must try is the cream puff. Easily 6 of these and more. Again the dough is soft almost spongy in the bounce. The cream is light, not sweet with a good ratio to get a taste in every bite. We also tried the maple bar. Thick layer of maple on top. Much sweeter but not too sweet like other places. Of course I ordered a regular coffee. No sugar. No cream. Cash is the only thing that works here. if not there is an ATM if you don't mind paying the fee. But best you have that before coming.
