Highly recommended for anyone that needs HVAC services. My experience from start to finish was excellent. I wish I had written down the name of the operator who scheduled my appointment but she was polite, professional, and courteous. She went above and beyond to find an appointment that worked with my schedule. She called back as promised and I was never left hanging or waiting for information. 5 stars for the operator, thank you! My technician was Victor who arrived during the scheduled time window. He was very knowledgable about the HVAC systems used for the homes in my neighborhood. He was able to quickly confirm the issue, diagnose the problem, and find a solution. He then performed a series of tests to confirm the issue had been solved. During each step of the process he explained what was happening in a way that was easy to understand. I now have a much better idea of what my system is doing and how it operates. 5 stars for Victor and I'm grateful for his service. read more

Disappointed after reading the reviews. These guys are in the same town. I figured I'd give them a try for installing an adding a mini split addition to supplement hot/cold spots in my kitchen. Not only did they not listen to my needs, the whole time they offered solutions that cater to what they want instead of what I want. 1. They recommend dual zoning which cost about the same amount as installing a new mini split. I have a single state HVAC which isn't recommended for dual zone install. 2. They keep pushing for fixing/upgrading central instead of installing mini splits. 3. They keep asking for my budget (red flag), talking up high end units (red flag), talking down low end units (red flag). Look, we all know Mitsubishi and Daikin are the top of the line. However, the cost of DOUBLE of the price of lower end models isn't due to just superior quality and technology. Heat pumps and mini splits are not new technology. One isn't vastly superior to another. Yes, it may be better, but not double the price better. The cost are always due to the commissions and kickbacks for these installers. That's marketing and salesmanship, but please be more transparent next time. Finally, I asked for quotes and options so I can decide. The person walked away disappointed and I suspect they think they lost a sale because of the way I did not want the highest end models and stayed firm with my mini split request. I sensed the guy walked away disappointed. Yet I still expected a courtesy quote like the other installers. They never sent it. I was not surprised. In the end, I decided that a whole system upgrade to mini-splits (30% more efficient just from being ductless alone) with rebates made more sense instead of add ons to existing system. But these guys did help me cross them off the list and went with the installer who actually listened to my needs and gave the recommendation and options that I wanted. I do not recommend these guys. They will push for the highest cost system and will ghost you if you appear to be knowledgeable enough to call them out on it. read more

Our old HVAC system was over 20 years old, so it was definitely time for a replacement. I had already gathered multiple bids and knew exactly which unit I wanted by the time I contacted Upgrade Home Services. Victor responded quickly through Yelp and followed up with a confident bid via email after I sent him photos of my air handler and condenser. I was impressed by how prompt and competitive his pricing was, especially without needing an onsite visit. I was skeptical so I did end up scheduling an in person visit just to make sure the price was still valid. Sure enough, Victor confirmed the job was straightforward, and his original quote stood firm. No hidden costs, no surprises, just exactly what he promised. I was super impressed and the price he gave me was fair & competitive compared to some of the other quotes I got. Ironically, our AC gave out right as we were shopping for bids, so the timing couldn't have been better. We signed the estimate with UHS and had to wait for them to complete their onboarding as an approved vendor for the SJ EcoHome Payment Plan program. Fortunately, they were already in the final stages, so all we needed was Victor's green light to move forward with the application. UHS came and tackled our HVAC replacement job in one day. We also tacked on duct cleaning and installed an ozone free air scrubber. We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Working with UHS gave us peace of mind, knowing they're fully licensed and highly recommended on Yelp & Google, and that we could maximize all the San Jose heat pump incentives. Gina at the office was also super great to work with, super responsive and quick to pick up the phone. Every person we interacted with at UHS had a professional, friendly demeanor, and unlike some other vendors, there was never a pushy sales pitch or that uncomfortable feeling of someone overstaying and talking my ear off trying to sell me their service during the estimate visit. Overall, you can't go wrong with Upgrade Home Services, definitely consider getting a bid from them if you're in the market for a new HVAC system. PSA, the heat pump incentives really sweeten the deal! read more

Did a great job. Very detailed and value for money. Owner spoke nicely and deployed crew following day

What a well-run, no-nonsense business. We met Victor for an estimate. Victor was quick to offer the best economical AC options for our rental home while factoring in future electric laws. Not only was Victor thoughtful in all of his recommendations, he even included a few extras for us (removing and recycling an old satellite dish on the roof and flushing our water heater for maintenance). We selected a dual fuel Payne heat pump system and they were able to schedule installation within a few days. After the onsite estimate, the next business day a HERS test was scheduled and the city permit was pulled. Install day was a very hot day. The crew worked confidently and cleaned up after themselves. It was only 2 weeks from the time we phoned Upgrade Home Services for an estimate to completion of project which included HERS test and City Permit sign off. They even online registered the unit for the 10 year manufacturer warranty. What a relief to have this daunting home improvement project completed. Their prices are reasonable and their work comes with a seven year labor warranty. The ease of doing business with this company was exemplary. You will thank yourself for working with Upgrade Home Services! read more

I can't recommend Victor enough for AC repair. He is by far the best in the business. From the beginning, he impressed me with his punctuality--he showed up right on time both visits. That's right, he actually came out twice to do thorough assessments just to make sure he had everything 100% correct before starting the work. That level of care and attention is rare. What I really appreciated was how he gave me multiple options for the repair, explained the pros and cons of each, and never once tried to push me into spending more than I was comfortable with. He was professional, patient, and super helpful, taking the time to answer all my questions. On top of that, he went above and beyond by fixing some small gaps around my system completely free of charge. He even gave me a bunch of practical advice on how to keep my AC running efficiently, like how often to change filters and what to watch for to catch issues early. The whole experience made me feel confident I was in the best hands. He's thorough, honest, and truly cares about doing the job right. If you're looking for the best AC shop around, Victor is it. I'll definitely be back for any future needs, and I'd recommend him to anyone without hesitation. read more

A couple years ago, I reached out to Upgrade Home Services. Unfortunately, it was during one of the hottest days of the year and the 4th of July holiday. Lucky for me, they came through and were able to get my AC going. Now, a couple years later, I reached out to them to do an annual maintenance of my AC before the summer heat begins. Ernesto was awesome! He pointed things out that needed some repair on my AC unit outside, as well as went into detail on everything he did. I also had him do maintenance on my tankless water heater, which was past due. In speaking with Ernesto, he mentioned that they can clean my dryer vents/exhaust and install my smart thermometers. So of course, after joining their membership, I made an appointment for them to come back. I'm very happy with all the work they have done and I feel their prices are competitive, especially when becoming a member. I have already referred them to others since I highly recommend them. read more

I am beyond impressed with the quality of service offered by Upgrade Home Services. We had an extremely minor issue which was fixed easily, but the way it was executed was wonderful. Responses to requests were prompt, scheduling was efficient, and Victor was punctual, and there was a follow up immediately after. The way this business is run is exemplary, and I won't hesitate to contact them again when I need help for my home! read more

Poor communication and no accountability. We asked for two straightforward services: HVAC cleaning and dryer vent cleaning and scheduled a date. The first time around we were asked to reschedule since their machines were inaccessible and stuck elsewhere. The rescheduled date comes around and they show up with only one of the machines, claiming I asked for an entirely different service (heater maintenance). This business wasted my time and I would not recommend them. read more

I recently had Victor and his team help me with a problem. I called on Sunday and he quickly called me back and tried to fix the problem over the phone. When that didn't work, he came out on Monday, diagnosed the problem and had the AC working again. He and his team are very competent, professional, responsive, easy to work with and really nice guys! 100% recommend this team for heat pump HVAC and heat pump water heater installation. We researched various contractors, equipment, and rebates, and they were not only the best price (including making sure we followed the correct process to maximize various rebates and incentives), they also patiently helped us identify the most energy efficient equipment appropriate for our house. The family-run team was careful, efficient, tidy, and polite, whether it was working in the garage, laying tarps to protect floors inside the house, running lines in the crawl space, or showing us how to operate the systems. They smoothly arranged for a third party, Vinny of HERS Testing Raters, to do the necessary testing for permit approval, and he went above and beyond to ensure that our new system was performing optimally. All around a smooth and wonderful experience, a great transition to a fully electric home. read more

We had an issue with our heater not working after coming back from long vacation. Victor came to our rescue and helped replace blower motor. Victor and Ernesto were great and helping us troubleshoot our HVAC system. They were cheap affordable, and most importantly they were very honest and what we needed to do versus what we should do. Unlike other companies, they will charge you just so they can keep their business running. But Victor and his team were great. They were honest and upfront, which I really appreciated. Side note, they also put a smile on my 8 month old. Will be doing business with you all again in the future. read more

This business is run by genuine, kind, and efficient people. They gave me a straight up price for air duct cleaning without having to visit the home for estimates, got me scheduled quickly, got here on time, and started the job right away. They were very respectful, laid down protective fabric for my floor and had shoe covers on. Their pricing for air duct cleaning was super reasonable, and cheaper than the services I got years ago from other providers. Victor was generous to offer his professional advice on other HVAC questions as well, with suggestions that are most economical and suits our needs. He didn't ask for any Yelp reviews, that's probably why there are not that many reviews here. But that convinced me to write a review! I'd recommend them for HVAC services! read more

Victor was like god send to us. We were were having problems with our Furnace/AC unit since August 2023 for 3 months now and the three companies we worked with wanted to dupe us. They also left the entire furnace open and removed the blower motor and they stopped answering our calls too. I am grateful for the exceptional level of professionalism and expertise from Victor. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and stress-free, making him my go-to HVAC company from now on. Victor was punctual and courteous and even waited for me when I was late. He took the time to thoroughly assess the HVAC system, addressing not only the immediate issue but also identifying potential concerns that could arise in the future. What truly sets Victor apart is his transparency and honesty. He provided a detailed explanation of the necessary repairs, outlining the costs involved. There were no hidden fees or surprise charges at the end, and I appreciated the upfront communication that allowed me to make informed decisions about my HVAC system. He took the time to answer all my questions, ensuring that I fully understood the maintenance recommendations provided. It's evident that Victor prioritizes not just fixing issues but also educating their clients for long-term HVAC system health. I wholeheartedly recommend Victor for anyone in need of HVAC services. His professionalism, transparency, and commitment to customer satisfaction sets him apart and is rare to find. read more

We met Victor when he responded (on a Sunday) to our furnace issue during the Thanksgiving weekend. He got our furnace back on that day. We greatly appreciated his responsiveness and expertise to restore our furnace operation on that cold weekend. Our confidence in Upgrade Home Services (UHS)led to our contracting them to replace our old HVAC system with a new Amana heat pump system. UHS replaced our gas furnace and AC unit on time and on schedule. Unfortunately, we had to call Victor the next day to repair a wiring issue that temporarily halted our system's operation. The good news is that Victor quickly responded to our call that day and repaired the wiring issue. Overall, we rate UHS five stars for Victor's responsiveness and expertise. The only unfavorable comment I have on UHS is their team of installation technicians are not very responsive to any questions during any phase (demo, prep, installation and test) of the installation project. Whenever I hire a contractor to work on my house, I make it a habit to understand what the contractor plans to do before they do it, so that there are no surprises and that I'm okay with any their modifications to my home. However, if you are the type of homeowner that's hand off and is comfortable to let the contractor work on your home without questions or desire to observe; this is probably not an issue for you. But if you are like me, and wants to know the details of what the contractor's plans for your home project; or may want them to answer questions prior to a major installation phase, you may want to address this with Victor prior to contracting them for any home projects. read more

Our AC wasn't cooling very well so we requested a diagnosis. Vivian and Victor were prompt in setting up a technician visit and Ernesto was very informative during the inspection and in explaining the different options. I'm happy with my experience with Vivian and Victor for replacing my outdoor A/C unit. Vivian is really proficient when answering my call and scheduling the visit. Victor is very professional and he gave me quotes very quickly and offered multiple choices: replace compressor only, replace with an expensive brand machine as well as a cheaper option. Price is competitive. The installation is not handled by Victor himself though, I'm overall happy with the process. Arrived and finished on time. A generous warranty is offered but I haven't got a chance to use it. Will update with the experience if I ever need it. read more

We just moved into a new property and found out that the HVAC air ducts were badly damaged and broken apart. We had three quotes for the duct work replacement. We picked Upgrade Home Service mainly because of the competitive pricing and efficient solutions. Victor sent a team of four professionals over the next day and promised to complete the project by 3PM which they did. the team was split to remove and replace the air ducts in the crawl space and attic. They also replaced the boots from the crawl space. Earnesto was one of the two working in the attic. He was choked up badly due to the floating insulation and the dusts, but he managed to overcome the challenge and continued the work. I don't ever write reviews, I usually read other people experiences. Regardless of the company that you decided to work with to have HVAC installed in your home, items/systems like these cost money ! Me and Fiancé we as team decided to invest in AC system for our home because we want to be comfortable year around and when we have family and friends over that everyone is comfortable as well. It was the first week of May 2023 and I was walking my little corgi. I saw Upgrade Home Services working/installing a AC system at my neighbors home. I was able to speak to Victor, I took him into the garage because that is were the gas furnace is located. He took a look at the electrical panel and on the side of the house to see if the work is possible, which it was possible to complete with no problems. Victor was able to give me different options of AC brands they work with and other services they provided. Fast forward to July 2023, me and my fiancé had finally decided to pull the trigger and get AC in our home. I called Upgrade Home Services, was able to get a spot on July 17th-18th for the install. Install went smoothly with the two man team that came to my home. They checked to make sure there are no leaked of any sort, checked all of the lines, checked all electrical work that was done, checked the temps that came out of the vents inside the home, they cleaned up after themselves and even installed a smart thermostat that I bought. My home is pretty well insulated, after the installed was completed, every single day so far I have been putting the AC system through its pace for hours on end and there have been absolute no issues at all ! I am very satisfied/happy with the installation and will be definitely booking other services they Upgrade Home Services offers. read more
