We have been here a few times in the past. Not sure why they feel that it's ok to charge an automatic 18% gratuity for a table of 4. Never mentioned it or saw any sign posted. You know what is really sad today? It's sad when somebody makes a mistake, they deny it, and then they don't take accountability or try to correct it, and they are the manager, Rosa. This just happened to me at the Chandler location and the manager Rosa, will be the reason why I never spend another penny at this business ever again. I've been going to both locations for years. It was so simple. I ordered beef spring rolls, spicy beef broth pho, with vegetables on the side. I've ordered this particular item 1000 times. I went to go pick it up today and when I got home, I noticed a bunch of shrimp in my spring rolls, and I can't eat seafood. I had to dig the seafood out and eat what was left of a mangled spring roll. I was looking at the beef and I noticed that it didn't look like beef either, but I continue to eat it. And then I went onto my soup, I opened up the box where the noodles came in, and there were no pho noodles. It was some type of weird stirfry mix with an unrecognizable meat. So I called over and was on the phone with Rosa, and she completely denied that my order was wrong, and so because she denied that my order was wrong she refused to correct the whole situation. I then asked to speak with the manager, and she said she was the manager, and there was no one else for me to speak to. I then said that I was going to contact the Better Business Bureau because she was refusing to correct my situation, and she told me to go right on ahead, and contact the Better Business Bureau. She became extremely argumentative, cutting me off, and completely denied what I was trying to tell her. I had to disconnect my call from her and call the other location in Mesa, and speak with a manager there, to have them correct her incompetence. It was such an easy fix, I don't know what her issue was, if she was having a bad day, but the way she treated me was despicable. And she will be the reason why I never come back to this restaurant ever again. The manager at the Mesa location was very gracious, they did fix the situation by refunding the money back and apologized for her behavior, but they shouldn't have had to do what she should have done from the very beginning. I also want to note when I called Rosa to go over my order she had actually given me pork and shrimp, spring rolls, I don't eat pork, and I don't eat seafood. I thought I was eating beef the whole time and it was actually pork. I knew it looked a little bit off, but I didn't think that my order was that severely botched at that moment. This review is for you, Rosa, you need to do better with your customers. I never once raised my voice, or was frustrated or angry with her, I spoke to her with respect the whole time, but when she started to deny everything and not take accountability. I was coming back from a very stressful Doctors appointment and the only thing that I wanted was was some comfort food. Be careful how you treat people, you never know what someone is going through. I came across a Vietnamese restaurant by the name of unPhogettable and of course, they specialize in Pho. I thought the name of the business was very cute so I had to entertain it LOL. Upon entry, there was no other customer in this restaurant at the time. I think they just opened 30 minutes prior. Anyway, it's a good size restaurant with lots of tables/chairs... you wouldn't be able to tell by the look from the outside, but it's quite spacious inside. We were greeted immediately. After checking out the menu, I decided to try their Bun Rieu which basically is a tomato based crab meat noodle soup. My daughter got their Pho Dac Biet with extra veggies on the side. I also got 1 Soda Chanh... Vietnamese lime soda. Bun Rieu was huge in portion. Its soup was tasty, but it wasn't piping hot. The soup was kind of lukewarm. I like my soup hot. Lots of great ingredients in it though. Love the crab meat and veggies... they were very fresh. Soda Chanh was good. My daughter liked her Pho Dac Biet bowl... soup was savory with lots of steak slices. I ate most of the side of veggies. Staff was okay. Prices were a tad higher than expected, but then again, they can be justified by the huge portions IMHO. Please note they said tips are not necessary. However, they impose a 15% service charge to all dine-in orders to better serve the customers and support their kitchen & floor staff. Honestly, that's just another form of tip. It's all good. I was very disappointed in the spring rolls. This was a very cheap way of trying to make spring rolls without doing them the right way they had no mint and no cilantro in them or basil. I was very disappointed. It was just shredded lettuce shrimp the noodles and pork slices nothing to run home and brag about. I was very disappointed. This Vietnamese restaurant was definitely phogettable, I'm from Tucson and my family and I like to visit the area because of the Asian influence. Idk if it's because the owners are from a region in Vietnam where they like sweet broth but the pho and bun rieu broth was very sweet. My bun rieu, had lots of crabmeat but hardly any noodles and on top of the noodles were broken up to where you really didn't need chopsticks. There was also a surprise 15% service charge as well which because of the service with traditional Vietnamese restaurants, the tip does not warrant that due to the type of service we usually receive. Stopped by on a Thursday night to place an order to-go. They had a decent amount of diners, but weren't super busy. I was assisted right away. I ordered shrimp spring rolls and shrimp vermicelli. Not sure if they forgot about my food, but I waited a bit, close to 30 minutes. I finally went up to one of the staff members to ask about my order. She apologized about the wait and said it's because they're busy. She went in to the kitchen to check on the order and came right out with it. Half-day school for the kids and I decided not to do the norm and expose them to something different. We decided to walk around our favorite plaza nearby and the final choice was un-Pho-gettable as the kids were looking to try something new. The staff was welcoming and the manager invited the kids to try '2 lemonade Chandon's... basically lemonade and sparkling water. We went with the DBBV Pho which had a variety of meat along with the HaiSan which had some shrimp balls and other seafood items. The overall flavor of the pho was good with tender noodles, however, I wish there was a little bit more choice meat to compliment it. We were hungry so we were looking for some protein!! They have TVs on opposite sides of the restaurants in case you need some visual stimulation. The main dining room area is actually inviting and the closeness of the tables makes it feel more like a family-style. Had 2 Soda Chandon's ($8), Pho DBBV, Pho HaiSan ($12), Chao Cuon spring roll with shrimp & chicken wings. Pho was good but not as filling as expected... hence the appetizers. Went out on a limb and tried this place with the family. The place is definitely friendly for large families. The tables and spacing is nice especially if you have little kids. Service was overall good. Waitress kept coming back to check on us and make sure we were doing good. The pho was good. Broth was flavorful and had a lot of meat. I will say the pho I ordered though I didn't like some of the meat parts and the meat was really tough. Wish they would've gave some more onions and some cilantro but otherwise it was decent. Having tried various pho places around the valley, the food here was a little lackluster compared to the Cali style pho and neighborhood places we've visited. This location and the one at Mekong Plaza are both excellent. Good food and great service. No alcohol so that could explain why they never seem super busy, but the food is always tasty and fresh. I love me some Pho, I can't get enough of it but I don't know why. I came here after hiking for four hours and I was very hungry. I had #9 pho and grilled pork chop with egg. Yes I had both.... don't judge me, I was very hungry! I never had a bad pho and I don't know how to describe good noodle soup. All I know is that I liked it here so much I finished the entire bowl including soup. Pork chop had nice flavor, I ordered combo with other pork dish, which wasn't the best I had.
