    Vietnamese coffee
    Alan B.

Been craving some good soup, finally stopped here. It was empty when I arrived but filled up as I left. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee, summer rolls and the mi- thin egg noodle combination. The coffee was a slow drip style, after I mixed it with the condensed milk and poured it over ice. The coffee was awesome, just the perfect kick I needed! I got the summer rolls first and they were HUGE! A small person would probably fill up from them! Lastly came the soup and I didn't have to add anything extra to it. Just the extra things they bring with it (lime, bean sprouts, peppers, mint). The soup was perfect! I'll definitely be back. I'd like to try the pho next time!

Tofu and vegetables for the pho

I had been craving pho for weeks and finally decided to give in. I yelped the nearest pho restaurant and drove over to SaDec Bistro. SaDec is tucked in a large shopping center with other eateries and retail stores. There's plenty of parking. I was greeted warmly as soon as I entered. The space is well-lit, open, and inviting. I asked the nice gentleman behind the hostess stand a few questions before deciding. I opted for the P15. Tofu & Veggies pho as well as an order of A3. Summer Rolls, shrimp only. I sat on a bench while waiting for my order, which didn't take long at all. Once I made it home, I quickly opened the containers. The broth was still hot which was nice. However, I was disappointed by the amount of tofu and vegetables. There were only a few pieces of small tofu cubes and not that many veggies either (see photo). Fortunately, the broth was delicious. It was flavorful. The spring roll also only had very little shrimp pieces; I believe just two shrimps cut in half to make it look like there's four. I knocked off a star for the small amount of protein and veggies as well as lack of veggie or seafood broth options. They only offer beef and chicken broth, though I did enjoy the beef broth. I would order pho here again, but will try a different protein!

Friendly family oriented atmosphere. Fresh and not greasy food. Been coming here for years never disappoints. Our fav is the jalapeños shrimp, dumplings and P5 pho is our go to.

SaDec Bistro is a semi-upscale Vietnamese restaurant located on the Mesa/Gilbert border. The interior, while quaint, has an authentic and charming vibe. There were only a few people dining inside. The service was very, very slow. For not being very crowded, it took over 15 minutes to get drinks and order our food. We were a bit disappointed in the inconsistency in the waitresses. We split the Fried Potstickers along with an order of Fried Rice. The food was actually pretty good! The Potstickers were crunchy and had a perfect sauce on the side. The Fried Rice was also delicious, and seasoned perfectly. Based on the atmosphere and food I would give a 4 star review, but I'm docking a star due to the inconsistent service.

Being from the Bay Area, my husband and I have a decently high standard for pho. So, we decided to try this place out. Here are our thoughts: Service - our server was very attentive and friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our food. Ambiance - great for lunch with friends or even date night. It has a very cozy atmosphere. Place is very clean too! Food- HIGHLY RECOMMEND their pho taí. The broth was clean and flavorful. The presentation was very nice too. All the condiments are already at the table. Overall, I would come back again to try their other dishes.

Do you have any Pho dishes that don't use garlic?

Hi Zachary- pho is just beef broth simmered with aromatics & ours do not contain any garlic. Hope this helps!

Does this place do take out?

    Yes!

Is this the same place that was Red Koi sushi? Does it have the same cooks and owners?

Yes. And it is fantastic. Get the combo Pho with the meatballs and steak. Also the summer rolls. I hope this place get lots of reviews because we have no good Pho close by.

Even on a hot Phoenix summer day, the pho was still worth it -- savory, flavorful, and satisfying. The menu is quite diverse and our dishes did come out in a reasonable time. We ordered the appetizer sampler, #34 Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm, and #72 Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang. There were 5 appetizers on the sampler plate to try - the lotus salad was my favorite, the egg roll was a bit over-fried, and while the shrimp tempura looked delicious, it was a bit too doughy for me. Nice selections, but probably wouldn't need to get it a second time. I feel like it's hard to find Bún Đậu Mắm Tôm at restaurants, but they did it pretty well and I liked the fried fishballs they had as I've never had that before. While the Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang came in a decent sized bowl, we would've liked more protein/toppings as there was a bit too much noodles. As we were checking out, they did have fried shrimp chips on the counter they were selling in addition to fried bananas with black sesame seeds sprinkled on top (2 for $5). We brought some fried bananas to take home and wow, that was probably the highlight for the restaurant. Would come back alone for these!!

We ordered the Stir-Fried Seafood & Vegetables with Crispy Egg Noodles (minus the seafood) and Pho Tai. Food Quality: 4/5 Both dishes were good, nicely presented, and came out quickly. Nothing that caused me to immediately start planning my next visit, but definitely satisfying. Service: 5/5 Quick, efficient, and attentive without being overbearing. Wait Time: 5/5 No wait. We were seated and ordering quickly. Atmosphere: 4/5 Pleasant and comfortable. There was a steady flow of customers, but it was not packed or eerily empty. Basically, the restaurant had found the sweet spot between "popular" and "please do not make me wonder if I should leave." Portions: 5/5 A lot of food for your money. Neither of us could finish our portions. Price/Value: 4/5 Around $15-$20 per entrée, which felt reasonable considering the portions. Cleanliness: 3/5 This is where the restaurant loses points. There was some noticeable Sriracha splatter on the wall, which gave the décor an interesting "action scene" quality. Unfortunately, the restroom situation was more concerning. My girlfriend reported that the women's restroom toilet was not working and was not clean when she entered, leaving her unable to use it. That is more than a cosmetic issue and something management should address. The Takeaway: Overall, we enjoyed our meals. The food was good, portions were generous, and the service was quick and efficient. The steady customer traffic also gave the place a comfortable, lived-in feel without being overwhelming. My only real criticism is cleanliness, particularly the restroom. A little attention there would go a long way. I do not have a specific dish I would tell you that you have to order, but if you enjoy Vietnamese cuisine, this place is worth giving a try. Would I return? Yes.

I would definitely go here if you're looking for something new or seeking a rarer dish. They also have VERY generous portion sizing, so it's pretty good value. If you wanted something familiar like pho or rice dishes, I personally feel that other places do them better. I have a family member who went separately who said the banh khot (a rarer dish in the US) they ordered was better than the regular Vietnamese offerings. When my partner I went, service was a little slow and distracted. They currently have the World Cup games playing on the TV for both customers and themselves. I don't mind the fanfare around the excitement for the games, but the waiter did get our food order wrong due to the distraction :( The bussed tables were pretty clean, but a lot of tables were left unbussed for a very long time due to the game too. My partner and I went with the meatball and brisket pho and bun thit nuong (except this one came out wrong and was just bun cha gio). Cyclo's pho style is on the sweeter side. I was a little shocked at how sweet it was. The bowl size is huge and comes with plenty of noodles. They don't skimp. My partner's bun cha gio was okay. Cyclo is a little more special in that they put taro in their cha gio (egg rolls). We personally weren't fans of this, but it is unique. The taro gives the filling a slimier texture. Overall, my partner and I wouldn't return again for the food unless we wanted something more new, but we do love how good value Cyclo is.
