So I tried their Special rice noodles dish, and just the rice noodles was amazing. - Place looks nice. Warm decor and interior design. - Wings are hot and crispy. - Services was okay. Cons: - The taste was heavily modified and far from authentic taste. - Garlic chicken wings don't have much taste of garlic at all. - Spicy Beef Noodle soup was quite plain, tasted like spicy Pho. - Shrimps and calamari in the stir-fry dish were coated with flour and deep-fried, meant to absorb seasoning and sauces but created an unpleasant texture. Needed a pho fix, so thought I'd try SaDec since it was closing time at my usual go to pho place and SaDec was open 30 mins later. Just received one bowl of a steak and meatball pho to go and, while it was tasty, I kept feeling like it was missing something flavor wise. I can't quite pinpoint it though. I can only compare it to my usual place, so I will say that when I get my pho to go at the other restaurant, I am given raw, thin sliced meat to add to my super hot broth and it cooks right when I'm about to eat it. This place had already added the meat (beef), which was thicker and it seemed to be overcooked. It wasn't bad, I'm just used to a more tender meat the other way. I will try this place again since it's closer to my house, but I'm kind of a creature of habit. When I find a dish I like, I will normally only go to that same place to get it. I often find if I stray, then I'm disappointed, which was the case here. I'm not ruling them out though! Let's see if my next visit is different. read more

Fantastic dining experience in the East Valley! My wife and I have been struggling to find a Vietnamese restaurant with the right "date night" ambience and this place checked all the boxes. We tried the fried soft shell crab, summer spring rolls, fried chicken wings, and the combination pho. The soft shell crab was the perfect texture and paired well with the seasoned soy sauce. The presentation of all items are what one would expect of a high end restaurant, see pics for details. The rice flour used on the fried chicken gave it a perfectly crunchy texture. The pho broth was a complex blend of savory, sweet, earthy flavors. Overall it was a splendid dining experience; I expect we'll be regulars here! read more

We were on the road and hungry for Pho. Luckily, we were close to SaDec Bistro and have been wanting to try it for some time. The restaurant is large and the place was not filled. I'm not sure if this is due to Covid-19 but this place definitely needs to be a place that comes out of this pandemic. The staff was friendly and attentive. My husband and I both ordered the Pho Tai and shared an order of the imperial rolls. I love how the hot bowl of pho comes on a tray with the toppings on it as well. Long wait. Unfriendly service. High price tag. Decent food. If you're not in a hurry and got time and money to blow, this will be the place for you. It takes awhile for you to get your food but thankfully they taste pretty good. Not sure if a $16 bowl of pho is really for me though.. no matter how good it may be. We only come here once in awhile when we are too lazy to make the drive to go elsewhere since this is the only decent pho restaurant in our area. I do really enjoy their dry egg noodle dish but the one we got today didn't taste quite the same as before (I always get this dish every single time). The noodle was not as soft and there wasn't as much sauce. Sadly I have never seen any of the workers here smile.. I never feel welcomed here no matter how many times I've been there to either dine in or togo. They always seem so miserable and hate that they have ro serve the customers. It was definitely not like this when they first opened but after their first year, it has unfortunately gotten worse and worse. Prices keep increasing but also the quantity of the food keeps going down. This is a cute little Vietnamese diner located in a strip mall in Gilbert. We stopped in for dinner and were greeted and seated right away. Upon review of the menu and advice from other reviews I decided on the summer rolls for a starter. After a short wait the rolls came out and they were stuffed full of fresh veggies and served with a side of peanut sauce. I also ordered the Pho with meatballs. The Pho comes in a huge bowl and is hot and good! There were several huge meatballs, noodles, veggies and the broth was very tasty. The service was friendly and next time we want some Pho, we will stop in to Sadec! read more

The beef broth is the best I've ever had! I eat here several times a week, usually ordering the Sliced Steak Pho. It's a couple bucks more than your average bowl of pho, but it's also higher quality and much more flavorful. Hands down the best pho I've had in Phoenix so far. The broth is soo flavorful with so much depth, I can tell it's all homemade and not just from a concentrate. At first while I was waiting on my food I thought it was a bit pricey but then I noticed that the hoisin sauce is probably made in house, I tasted the broth and decided it's worth every penny. This place is our go to for Pho.They are consistently good. The flavor is delicious and authentic. I usually get the Tendon Pho. My husband gets the chicken fat noodles. Both are very good. On our last visit we tried the fried dumplings and they were very tasty! It has an intimate atmosphere with a modern look. If you love Pho you should definitely give them a go. read more

Seems like everyone that owns Viet or Thai restaurants took vacation at the same time. Like the Murphy's Law of Chick-Fil-A that says you only crave it on Sunday, we wanted to have Vietnamese food so much! Go figure! Using the ol' Yelp machine, I found SaDec Bistro a few miles on the freeway away. The menu is posted online, and is formatted well for mobile. No web ordering though, so I had to call [like a caveman...I jest]. Ordering was easy, but I was surprised to be given a 30 minute window. The restaurant looks like a small place within the retail complex, but actually looked really open and large inside. It was fairly empty of customers at lunch time, which is suspicious. The ceiling lanterns were cool, and I am a fan of minimalist, clean decor. Reception was weird, as it was a pony shelf with chotchkies on the shelves, and a few scattered paper menus on top. I was helped right away, and added a caphe sua da (iced Viet coffee). I paid the bill and didn't wait long. Mr. P is a creature of habit and got grilled pork bun. I found it really weird that there were no combination bun plates, and that adding just one egg roll to it was $3 additional. Their egg rolls are so very small. The pork seemed very fatty and was still on the skewers. He seemed content though. We split an order of tofu summer rolls. The carrots weren't pickled. The tofu wasn't seasoned. The rice paper roll was super rubbery. This entire roll tasted like I was eating a bicycle tire. I also chose the soft shell crab. This was quite tasty. Perfect for a meal, the crab was well seasoned and fried. The sauce was just a spicy soy, and I wasn't a huge fan. The iced coffee was literally all ice. It was delicious, but was gone in one sip. I wish I were exaggerating. Maybe get it hot and take it home to put it over your own ice? SaDec was also quite expensive as far as Viet fare goes. As underwhelming as it was in flavor, I wouldn't likely go here again. read more

It's hard to find really great Pho in the desert but this is pretty good if you're craving it. They just took my favorite friend spring rolls off the menu but the fresh ones are good. The space is open and waitstaff quick and friendly. The veggie pho is my favorite and has LOTS of different veggies. read more

If negative stars were an option then thats what I would give them. Placed a phone order on 2/28 for a single bowl of pho and summer rolls. Was quoted 35-40 minutes. Wait, for two items? Um, ok I guess but pizza can be made in half that time. Anyways, got there 45 minutes later and server on duty said there was no order under my name. Upsetting for sure and asked how long it would take since I was already there. You guessed it, 35-40 minutes since it was a busy night. There were literally no more than 5 tables with clients (or no more than 12 people) with 2 servers on duty. I just walked out and took business elsewhere. On other occasions Pho is mediocre at best. Mediocre food at ridiculous prices. The meatballs in the pho were disgusting and the texture was off. The steak was too thick and only a few pieces. Pho broth was ok, nothing special. The lemongrass shrimp bun had good flavor, the flank steak bun lacked any and the meat was chewy. Topped off with burnt nuts as well. Chicken fried rice was overpriced and flavorless. Service was slow, horrible and it was clear we annoyed the staff by showing up. Water tasted like pool water with a lime tossed in to cover the chlorine taste. Prices here are too high based on flavor and amount of food you're getting. Trying to figure out why the prices are so high here when you can get something similar about 10 minutes away. I travel often to California for work and SaDec's prices are higher. Got my drink in a can, they do not have a soda dispenser. Sadly. I'm writing this review from AZ Pho with whom I have no affiliation. After seating ourselves at Sadec and waiting 5 minutes without being greeted or seeing a menu, we had had enough and left. There were only 5 seated tables in the place. As a former server myself a long time ago, one person should easily be able to handle 5 tables let alone the two that were onsite. As one of the small percentage of Asian families in the area, we eat a ton of Asian food. We live equidistant from AZ Pho, a great restaurant, and Sadec., the two Viet options in the area. We rarely go to Sadec because of these service issues. The food is fine. So I hope the owner sees this and takes it positively. One of the servers looked so sad as we walked out. I felt bad. But either they need better training on how to work the floor and multi-task or the owners need to find the right people. Diners have options. read more

Probably the best looking spring roll I have even seen. -The service. Nice and fast. -The decor. Clean and modern. -=The So So=- -The size. I got the Vermicelli Imperial Roll Dish. It only came with two egg rolls cut in half. It wasn't tiny and with my spring roll appetizer I went away full, but I expected more for a $30 lunch. -=The Bad=- -The sodas are not on tap (i.e. you get a bottle or can). Although I think all restaurants should serve soda on tap (even a Vietnamese restaurant), if they don't they should at least disclose that you are getting a bottle and they should charge $2.95! -=The Ugly=- - The soda situation almost made the ugly list, but it didn't. I was googling Pho restaurants near me (although there are none in San Tan Valley) and shocked to see SaDec Bistro listed again!!!!! A bit pricey but the pho was pretty tasty. I got the meatball pho and for the most part I enjoyed it. I asked for an extra slice of lime and was told it was an extra charge but didn't know how much extra. I would think for a $15 bowl of pho, that I could get an extra slice of lime without an extra charge but if there were an extra charge that they would know how much instead of just deciding on their own later how much. I paid $32 for chicken pho and spring rolls. I also left a $2 tip for to go. I asked for extra basil and was told I needed to pay extra. Really? For basil? I have never gone to a pho restaurant that asked for more money for basil. I am very disappointed. I will not be going there again. read more
