Be aware of College Hunks Moving at 4100 E. Old Settlers Blvd., Round Rock, TX 78655 and phone…read more(512) 781-4286. The franchise owner is Carlson Tayong. I expect this review will be answered by some who says it is not "their" franchise, but they are sorry, etc. It is pretty easy to scratch or dent a refrigerator, but it requires some effort to crush one to the extent Frigidaire says it cannot be repaired. That's what happened to mine, which was less than 2 years old. I had to post pictures of the damage because words don't adequately describe it! At least there was one bit of levity in this disaster when the owner explained that his manager had determined his HUNKS had tightened the strap too tightly! Bottom line, I paid $320 to have a refrigerator destroyed and a hall table and a book shelf moved from Manor, TX to Leander, TX, and learned the hard way that "insurance" covers damage up to 60 cents per pound. Translated, that means a $2200 refrigerator when depreciated for two years is valued at $1700 - but when destroyed, reimbursement is $150 (250 lbs x .60). Because this was absolutely the fault of the HUNKS, the owner generously offered to make it $400. Having paid $320 for the move only to have a $1700 refrigerator destroyed, and then having to pay another company $150 to haul away the refrigerator -- clearly $400 is not a remotely fair settlement. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Central Texas. Sadly though, in the end, Mr.Tayong refused to be reasonable. BEWARE the 60 cents per pound reimbursement is a standard practice in this industry. REQUEST THE OPTION TO PURCHASE REPLACEMENT VALUE COVERAGE to avoid this type experience.

I utilized College Hunks Moving because they had the availability I needed…read more I had received several phone calls from the service center asking to confirm the move date and the correct address. I had given them this information and followed all of the email prompts already. I still received three phone calls from their center with people who didn't know anything about my move until they asked for my info and looked up my moving request. I made sure to tell them how much stuff I had and my address but it seems they did not properly communicate with each other. When the movers showed up, the expression on their faces looked disappointed that I had so much stuff to move. Obviously this made me very worried. I was very nice and even moved some of the stuff myself. The lead was doing what he needed to do but the other two that were moving my stuff seemed confused and unsure of how to approach things. They damaged several of my items. I even had to lend them some of my tools because they were not properly prepared for the move. My wood table was scratched and the column split. A book shelf was scratched and dented on the top right side. Two of my lamps were broken beyond repair. My Dresser was completely destroyed and fell apart. The back of my TV Stand was also damaged. Several boxes that they had abruptly just dropped on the floor in my new apartment had some broken items as well. I mentioned this in a feedback review they had sent me. I later got an email stating that they would credit me for the damaged items and they even offered to repair the table. The email was also slightly passive aggressive in that they blamed me for having a couple of items in the dresser in the dresser. It was not full by any means and the previous movers at another company that I used moved it with no issues. Most of the clothing had been removed from the dresser. They even lied and said that the dresser was already wrapped up. It was not wrapped up. I had blue tape on the drawers to keep the drawers from falling out. However I have not received any reply on when I would receive compensation for my damaged property. I emailed them back to see if they would respond and give me a timeline but no response has been received in over a week. It seems they had just said this to pacify me and make me go away. If you value your items I would not recommend them for any moves in the future.

They were real pros, and on an easily 100+ heat index day, it can slow things down considerably, with a 3 staircase climb over and over. I needed a 2 person crew for a 10 minute move from a 3rd floor apartment in South Austin to a relatively nearby home. Richard Bailey messaged me here on Yelp and to my phone number after I contacted multiple movers. I can only say one slightly negative thing here. At first contact, I wasn't entirely certain that they had accepted my job offer and date. I did have to message a few times to make sure the date and time was actually locked down. I, and so many of us, have been "flaked" on in the past, as I did a few times in Nashville somewhat recently. So I felt I had to reach out a little more as I had a very tight timeline and was just trying to get all my ducks in a row. However with a few messages we did lock in the day and time with a couple days to spare. I would just say that when we are here putting multiple offers on Yelp, you do end up getting blasted by some companies immediately, too much so, but it does make them "seem eager" to lock in the job. Just a little better first contact would be the only slightly negative thing I could say. On to the great: I received a call and message from Gio of their ETA the day before and on the day, which they met. The heat/humidity combination got really bad, still they had surprisingly great attitudes and asked all the right questions when they came up. They wrapped and protected all the furniture as if it was going in a cross country van/semi-trailer. Going down apartment steps, everyone's furniture has gotten scratched and bonked and movers have just said.. oh well. These guys knew exactly what they were doing and everything arrived perfectly. They even had me "direct" them to which room or area as they pulled carts of boxes up to the home. Gio and Josh were just good people, hard workers with real attention to detail and a positive attitude. I don't have any other reviews on Yelp, as far as I know, so here I am highly recommending Baileys Moving Company. I'll try to use them again if and when it happens next, and I'll be recommending them to any friends that are looking for help moving. Good to meet you guys and thanks again for the great work. - CV

Placed a quote request on Yelp and was bombarded with responses. A lot of the companies requested more information; some didn't respond. Spoke to one guy who said he would send a quote and never did. Richard Bailey gets 10 stars for price, communication; recognizing the sense of urgency and the crew he hired to complete my move. He actually texted me right away; then we spoke briefly. Based on the conversation he gave me a verbal quote and booked my move for the next afternoon. His crew showed up on time. We're very professional; had great personalities and got me moved in two and a half hours. Nothing was broken either. Assembled my washer and dryer too. One of the crew members even gave me decorative advice as I moved from a 2300 sq. ft. house to a 1300 sq. ft. apartment and my couch didn't initially look right where I thought it should be! Fabulous company. Absolutely recommend them.

Harder's is the one I chose. I had help......I had never seen a cardinal (my mother's favorite bird) near or on our property. One landed on our shed roof and stayed there for some time. I will never regret choosing a mover based on a red bird........the most awesome, knowledgeable, compassionate, logical businessman and company was chosen! Thank you ever so much Jonathan! In an industry that can be cutthroat and anyone with a truck can say they are a moving company, and come and go, but staying around for a repeat customer 12 years later is a testament to the company. Harder's Movers are truly professional and customer focused. Jonathan runs an amazing operation and doesn't sit back and watch his team work - he's there leading the crew and ensuring the product and service is top notch. A+ in communication, planning dates and times, punctuality, taking extra precautions to ensure the items are not damaged in anyway, and every team member was pleasant and very friendly. Price was very competitive and worth every cent! I highly recommend Harder's Movers
