The owner, Tim Toomey, came out and assessed her move which was complicated, to say the least (a rent home and 3 storage units while her new home was being built in a country club area. We have been in an extreme drought for months - and then torrential rains started about 10 days before the move, with flooding the day before the move. We went forward with this 2 days of moving. These guys took such incredible care by securing each and every item in a way that nothing ever got the least bit of moisture on it. They used a system with 3 guys outside in the rain, 2 guys inside unloading in sock feet as to not track mud inside the owner's home. Despite the home not being 100% complete and there being other contractors all over the home and the movers having to dance all around them, they were cheerful throughout the whole experience. They interacted with my team of Organizers with so much respect. And what's more, he stuck to his original bid; he was spot on with his estimate of expected number of boxes and supplies for the job (where clients have paid 3 times more with other movers). Quote came in from their office at 8 hours. Total disconnect. I spoke to the owner who said their employee under quotes, why send him??? and then quote on the high side and cover for all eventualities? Again why send an experienced professional, quote figures then follow through with an estimate with "well we only charge you what it ends up". David, who manages the office and books the jobs did a fantastic job staying in contact with us and working with us to ensure the safety of my family as well as his team. The driveway to our complex was up a steep hill and covered in ice. We were able to reschedule for a move on Monday February 22nd with an early start time. Mojo and Emeka called about 15-20 minutes before arriving and took the instructions well to get to our hard to find apartment unit. They took a brief walk around the unit and decided a plan of attack. Then the clock started. While the move took longer than I had originally expected both of these guys worked hard the entire time. No breaks. No milking the clock. The only two breaks they took were once on the way to deliver when they stopped to pick up rehydration beverages, which they asked for permission to do first and did not charge us for, and the second time was when we offered them food and beverages while unloading. There was minimal/no damage to our property when all was said and done. There were a few marks made in the very narrow stairwell, which the owner promptly came out the next day and cleaned up himself. No knicks, divots, or scratches to any of the walls in our old apartment or the brand new built home we moved into. Before I continue I just want to give every customer a heads up, you can safe yourself and your movers a lot of time by prearranging everything before hand. Take apart beds, take apart sectionals, disconnect washers, dryers, and refrigerators. Anything you can do to make their job as simple as picking up the items and moving it into the truck. The prices they offered across the board by companies in Austin was higher than when I managed a moving company in Austin 13 years ago and even with that being said Jackson was the lowest bid I received and not to mention, their phone lines were never busy and communication was very easy. At the end of the day I was very pleased with the service from EVERYONE in the Jackson's Moving organization and will absolutely use them again in the future.
