My insurance company has had United Towing provide service to me on two separate occasions for roadside assistance. Both times they were punctual, professional and reliable. I am grateful for each time they rescued me and made my emergency circumstances less stressful. read more

We made a towing claim early this morning. Twice the driver canceled, blamed us for canceling but we did not, and neither did our insurance company. I called to find out why they canceled twice and the person who answered the phone was ridiculously RUDE! No business owner should talk to a customer the way he spoke to me! I called my insurance company again and for the 3rd time confirmed that this towing company canceled, not us and not the insurance company. When I called to speak to the new towing provider to explain what happened he wasn't shocked to hear this company had done this. Apparently they have a horrible reputation. Thanks for wasting our day because you clearly didn't want to do your job. I will do everything o can to make sure that my insurance company drops you as a provider!! I only wish there was a way to leave negative stars because you're not even worthy of the one I had to give you an order to leave the review!! EDIT: No I don't have 2 accounts. My son originated the towing request. I'm the policyholder and was the person who spoke directly to the towing company after the third cancellation. Common courtesy, and good business practice dictate that if you are coming from a distance, you would make an attempt to get ahold of someone. And YES!! the insurance confirmed that you canceled we did not and neither did the insurance you said it yourself. We didn't answer our phones, but that's actually not the case because neither me nor my son ever got a phone call. We were waiting at the property and you never showed. Did it ever dawn on you to get your butt out of the truck and knock on the door. You saw the car there! You're unprofessional and us waiting from 8-2 only for you to turn around and cancel a third time is inexcusable. So maybe you can understand my frustration. You're hands down one of the most unprofessional and disrespectful people I've ever come in contact with in the business world, and I will make sure that people know. read more

Terrible experience. Took forever to get my car to Tesla and the whole process was frustrating and unnecessarily drawn out. Definitely would not recommend. read more

Horrible. They accepted my tow request through my roadside insurance. I was given the option to leave the keys with vehicle so I didn't have to stay there and wait. The driver showed up, called and left immediately. I called back in less than 5 minutes to find out what was going on. The lady that worked dispatch was rude, unhelpful and dismissive. I called my insurance back and they resubmitted the request. United Towing accepted it again, and then pushed back the ETA twice. This time, I came back to my car early to wait and make sure I was there. 15 minutes before the arrival window, they cancelled! We called them to figure out what was going on and the guy was extremely rude saying things like "I don't work for you". I submitted the request at 8AM. It is now 2PM. Hours of dealing with their shady bs. Do not trust this company. read more

Please train your drivers before sending them out on the road. Person driving this vehicle was speeding, merging without signaling, and only started using them after the camera was out. Dangerous not only for them but other people on the road. DO BETTER!!!! read more

United Towing - Irresponsible drivers. - Towing Near Me - Modesto, California

Worst service ever. I waited for over a hour I was told they would be there at 8:30. 8:30 comes around I call and the lady on the other end of the phone who was extremely rude and unhelpful told me they would not be here till 10am. Thank god I had AAA who showed up in less then 30 mins after I requested help. I will never except help from this company again. read more

Unreliable. They give you eta that gets pushed out twice. I get message tow is here but I call their dispatcher who advised I'm next. I explained to her that I got message that my tow is here when it's not. She repeats again that I'm next. I called my insurance to cancel and schedule someone else. read more

My first time since writing in a bit... It's great to be back. Unfortunately, The Powers that Be @ Yelp removed my Yelp Elite Badge this past year or 2 without announcing to me them doing so. I live with mental health condition(s) but am still high-functioning and feel like my credibility here on Yelp and in the bounds attached to it have been negatively impacted since mourning the loss of my Yelp Elite Badge and it was to be my 10th Year Yelp Badge Celebration. Please Yelp reinstate my Elite Badge so I can continue to craft and publish help to the Public creations. Yet I digress. This United Towing was dispatched for the only new car I've ever had a 2005 Chevy Tahoe with 4 WD. She, as in my beloved aging ride, began to have sputtering and choking out and didn't want to start so I phoned my one-in-a-million mechanic Roger @ Rogers Auto here in Turlock, CA. and he waited for United Towing to arrive and deliver my only mode of transportation. Roger repaired the needed area, by draining my fuel tank as the pump is located inside the gas tank. What a nightmare of a repair in my opinion. He did all this and charged me just over $800. What a Steal! The driver who was soft-spoken and didn't speak much loaded my ride/vehicle without damaging it as I stood there observing. Roger told me later that the tow went very well. I guess this review is for two businesses that I cherish but in truth, they go hand in hand if you ponder on it. Thank you United Towing of Modesto (as per Yelps location devices) . Here is your confirmation number Jay- the one no one recalls! Geico Confirmation Number: 872810920000000 We sat there from 5 AM until 10 AM. Got one update saying that they had a tow truck in route but had to turn it around and another one was coming. We finally got a ride from somebody else. So yes, thanks for the great service! read more

Was going through insurance for roadside assistance. United was the tow company assigned to assist my in laws who were stranded and needed a tire changed. They are an older couple and my father in law had shoulder surgery recently and can't change a tire or else he would have never called. They waited 2-3 hours AFTER receiving a text that UNITED TOW would be on their way to assist. They never showed up so I called United and the man identified himself as "Jay" the "owner." He was extremely unprofessional and rude and stated "call your insurance, we canceled that job" I said excuse me? You canceled it for what reason? He said "It was gonna take too long to get there"... like wtf? His tone of voice and response was just incredibly rude and unprofessional. I guess he thinks because he is the business owner he can talk to ppl however he wants. Learn how to be courteous... as a business owner you really should know better. I told him I would be calling during normal business hours to talk to the owner about his lack of customer service and he said "oh I am the owner." So since there's nobody to talk to about his unprofessionalism, I'll just leave this review to tell potential customers. He claims in his response that the call was canceled within 10 minutes but fails to realize I called and spoke to a female who had the call assigned and said she would let the driver know about their exact location. Again, JAY... your customer service sucks. You should really work on that. All of your snarky RUDE replies to negative reviews highlights your lack of professionalism. Keep at it. read more

My insurance company called them to pick up my car cause someone stole all tires off of my car. Moises was the one who came out and he was super nice and professional. He felt apologetic about my car getting scraped but suggested since my family's car had spares he could use. He was able to avoid further damage to my already damaged car from being left on bricks. I appreciate that he was as careful as he could be and nice during the whole interaction. Thank you again Moises. read more

After dealing with two separate companies through Geico, the last truck JUST UP AND LEFT!!! Anyway, we tried a third time, which was United. Understand we were at our wits end but the driver Bo went through to see if he could get the car out of the gear it was stuck in. He walked us through everything he was doing from setting the skates to get the car up on the flatbed, he was VERY professional and he got our car to our destination. Want to thank Bo for being super friendly and professional!!! I would DEFINITELY use their services again, HOPEFULLY I won't but they will be our go to!! read more

The worst customer service, the dispatcher cussed me out because I asked why they reported they made it to my location when they hadn't. Mind you they kept delaying my pick up 4 times. After waiting 3 hours the POS canceled my pick up. If I could give this company a ZERO, I would. read more

Fellow that arrived pulled the car in gear by the drive shaft destroyed my car. Then denied being here aaa did nothing either did the tow company ... a total loss on me. Customer beware . We were in a pickle in the high sierras when my car malfunctioned in the PML area. Good thing we have USAA as our vehicle insurance because they contract the BEST companies to come out and help stranded people in need. This company responded with impeccable service. Oscar showed up on time and great attitude and assured us he would take care of our baby. Use this company if you want your vehicle in great hands! Well done guys! read more

The driver was courteous and very helpful. He was able to unlock my steering wheel. I would highly recommend this company.

United Towing Sac saved the day! I was stranded between lanes on HWY 50 in West Sacramento in lunch hour traffic and construction. Bracing myself for a series of pile up crashes....Zabi of United Towing happens to be a few cars behind and he literally saves the day by taking safety into his hands and we push my car to a relative safe space. Im clearly shaken and not making decisions well. He asks about my insurance and means to get a tow. I don't have the number for my roadside assistance..... only then does he say "i have a towing company, would you like me to dispatch a tow?" oh yes Please1 I do not know the area at all and am 2 hours away from home, I just didn't know what I was going to do after getting safely off the HWY. Zabi and his family ( the tow driver) went above and beyond to get me to a mechanic and comfortability to make the next right decisions. Reasonable prices and above and beyond human beings. I cannot stress enough how this company has restored my faith in humanity. United Towing for the win read more

United Towing - Business Card - Towing Near Me - Modesto, California

My insurance contacted this company after I was in an accident, the estimated arrival was a little more than an hour, so the 45 min or less arrival time advertised is a lie, after an hour and a half of waiting I received an update that the truck would be delayed an hour due to them having to drop off another vehicle. After waiting two hours the driver finally contacted me and explained it would be another hour due to him having to drop of another vehicle once again. I'm not one to complain but waiting in the sun for 3+ hours after being in a pretty serious car accident doesn't seem right. I called my insurance company, they contacted the company and the company told them they had a truck break down, so either they lied to me or to the insurance company because it's two different stories. Definitely would not recommend this business to anyone in a time of need. Update to situation, I was still waiting for the truck as I left the review, my insurance calls me and says the company canceled the service on their end... outstanding!!! Please, if you need a tow service think twice before contacting this company. read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, LACK OF COMMUNICATION, DO NOT RECOMMEND. The driver was nice but upon arrival I was charged $100 more than originally quoted. Said I didn't tell the operator that the car I needed to tow was in a driveway. She asked me no questions other than if the vehicle is running. Extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and transparency in quoting. To tow a vehicle 3 miles cost me near $250. read more

Prompt and friendly, highly recommend! Saved the day when I had a flat tire on a weekend.

I would give zero if I could. They told my insurance company they would be here between 6:30am and 7:30am, the driver called at 7:02am and said he was 15 to 20 minutes out. I called at 7:35am and I did cancel, but my vehicle didn't start and called right back and they said nope. I did mention all of the above and they said they don't do reservations before 8am even though they told my insurance they would be here between 6:30am to 7:30am and now it is no longer their problem. Went somewhere else and they got here in 20 Minutes of my call. DO NOT RESERVE A TOW WITH THEM. Even though you are trying to plan ahead. read more

Had to call them at midnight due to a flat tire in a bad part of town, their driver showed up, seemed nice but could not inflate a simple spare tire. He left to go find a tool for that and then completely ghosted me, would not answer his phone and all. He just left me hanging, imagine an emergency service company that could leave you and your family hanging in the middle of nowhere. Ultimately, after struggling for 2 hours, a passerby helped me get my spare on. I do not recommend these unprofessional people. read more
