Horrible service. I took a dress and 4 pairs of pants there to be hemmed. My dress was done completely wrong and 2 of the 4 pairs of pants had to be redone after 1 wash. When I took them back I was charged for the fix - and I was not told I would be charged until I picked them up. I will not be returning and I do not recommend. read more

A no nonsense tailor that has pretty affordable prices. I usually come here to get my jeans tailored because as a curvy girl, it's hard to find good jeans that fit correctly straight off the rack. The service is great and they offer a 1 hour jean service for an upcharge of $30. Otherwise I believe their turnaround time is within 1 week. The 1 hour jean service has been a life saver for me and I highly recommend Unique Tailor, especially for adjustments to a hem or waistline. read more

When I came in today to pick up some tailoring, the person at the front counter (not one of the owners) was sneezing and sniffling and had a tissue in her hand. That did not make for a pleasant customer service experience, especially with Covid on the rise again this summer. If she is sick, she could stay home, work in a role that is not public-facing, or, at the very least, wear a mask. read more

Did this place change ownership or something? Full disclosure - I used to LOVE Unique Tailor but I've heard from a lot of people it's gone way downhill. As a petite person, they used to be my go-to for a quick jeans hem within a week. My mom and I have gone to them for almost a decade. One star for that. We (my mom and I) went by Unique today because she got a text that her clothes were ready- yay! I waited in the car while she went inside. My mom walked out in tears. What?! Here's what happened: When she got inside, her clothes actually weren't ready. They told her to come back in a couple hours and it would be ready. Sure! She said. Okay, they said, we're going to charge you a rush fee. What?! Then she (whoever was helping her) proceeded to yell at my mom because she didn't want to pay the rush fee. My mom came out in tears and the customers waiting in line were saying how messed up they thought it was. This is where it gets weird - she called her to yell at her some more and accused her of lying about having to drive in traffic to pick up her alterations? Again...so weird. I've been going to unique tailor for several years, and the past couple of times it seems like they can never get it right the first time so they have to alter it again which isn't a big deal. This last time I had several pants and shorts altered and when I tried them on the pants need to be altered some more. I had already payed 75 dollars and when I told him that the pants were wrong he wanted to charge me an extra 20 dollar because he said I wasn't charged correctly the first time. I told him I would not pay for their mistake and he started to yell at me. I told him to not raise his voice at me but he would not stop yelling, it was very embarrassing and just terrible customer service I will no longer be taking clothes here nor would I recommend this tailor to anyone! read more

ZERO STARS IF I COULD. I would definitely not recommend this place. The staff is very unprofessional, will scream at you in front of other clients. They simply do not care. I brought in a brand new blazer and vest to them and paid an extra rush fee. I had to call them to check up on my items. When I called they were like "oh yeah your things are ready you can come pick them up." When I get home I notice that they had damaged the blazer so I messaged them about it since by that time they were closed. I waited for a response and nothing so I drove there again the following day. When i arrive the man up front starts telling me it a manufacturer defect which is not true because that damage was not on there when I purchased it or dropped it off to them. He starts yelling at me that I'm just there to cause trouble. Eventually all 3 of the staff start screaming at me to get out. I paid over $100 and I feel like I shouldn't be getting my clothes back damaged, especially not screamed at. Horrible customer experience! I received a text stating that my white leather pants had a stain, which clearly happened after I had left my pants with them. I dropped off 13 pairs of pants in total and when I came in 2 days after the original pick up date to discuss the stain and pick up my pants, the did not alter any of my other 6 leather pants nor did they offer any solution for my stained pants other than "talk to the manufacturer." The woman working there was beyond rude and spoke over me every time I asked for a resolution on my stained pants. NEVER GOING BACK!!! read more

The rudest, most unprofessional place I've ever encountered. They completely ruined an item I took in for alterations, and when I brought it back to ask that they repair it and make it right, she argued with me, saying it was not their fault because they didn't measure it on me, but the day I dropped it off, they did not offer to get the measurements of the item on my body. Therefore, they said it was not their fault and that it was mine. I could not believe the awful Service and the rudeness of the employee (or maybe the owner for all I know.....she is a Hispanic woman). I would not recommend this place to anyone!! There are many great tailors I have been to in the past in many different cities I have lived in, and this was absolutely my worst one I've ever been to! Unique Tailor's workmanship and services are the worst ever. My daughter took 4 dresses to Unique to get them hemmed. When she got them back, they messed up on 2 of the dresses. In the first dress, the right side was shorter than the left side. The second dress the back was shorter than the front. When she brought them back to Unique Tailor they would not own up to their mistakes instead blamed my daughter for the errors and body-shamed her. Maybe they have plenty of customers and they don't need any new ones. Maybe there is no such thing as customer service. Either way, they should not treat people like dirt. I've had two bad experiences at this tailor. (The first one I thought was a fluke but then it happened again a second time, so I thought I'd share.) The first time, I brought a dress in to be taken in because the bodice was a bit too big. Following the alteration, I noticed that the bust darts were not evenly placed (by approximately an inch) and the extra lining where the dress was taken had not been removed in (so it bulged underneath). Here's the good news, they fixed it and the dress was fine. But....I had to return to Unique Tailor 2 additional times to get it right. It looked great when they were done, so I thought, ok, maybe it won't happen again. Friends, it happened again with another dress. First, the lining was hanging down beneath the seam, then I noticed that the hemline itself wasn't even. It took two additional visits to fix the problem, but they got it done. The dress is fine now, but I plan to find a new tailor. This place is TOTALLY fine for simple fixes like a single hem without a lining. But I wouldn't trust them to take anything in or do any work on higher-end garments (luckily what I was having fixed this time was a Poshmark cheapie). They also are not super nice in there. In the past, at least they were nice. I try to be really friendly and courteous to customer service folk. (Even when they screw up.) I know it's a hard job, but there is one lady in there who is straight-up mean, y'all. read more

The attending lady only got 4 measurements but was mad at me for suggesting that the price was too much. So much for thinking I found a great tailor. 1st round of repairs went great...so we decided to take more pieces in. My husband took 2 pr of dress slacks in to be hemmed and to take the crotch in. They lost the pins and measurements and asked him to come back a week later and remeasure. Then called days later to make sure the measurements were correct. We paid upfront as requested, then when the pants were finally ready they said it was double. That they only charged us initially for 1pr pants but our receipt at quote shows 2 and the price was definitely average for 2, not 1. If the work was more than anticipated they should've called and let us know and asked if we wanted to proceed with corrected price. So now you have to pay ro get your clothes. Now my husband has paid double the cost of the actual pants. The manager ended up taking 50% off the additional charge for their mistake but we still left with distrust and they lost 2 customers. There are PLENTY of tailors in the area. ...so we'll ease on down...ease on down..the roooaad!! read more

I've been going to Unique for over 15 years. Sadly, I think I will have to take my business elsewhere. I was quoted a three week turnaround time unless I wanted to pay more for rush. I declined. I took in two casual cotton dresses (no crazy buttons, stitching, etc) for two inch hemming and one pair of pants for hemming as well. Should have been $40 TOPS. For three items, the total was $81 plus tax. I couldn't believe the cost. Between the long turnaround time and the outrageous price, I need to find another shop. read more

Been coming here since 2007 or so and Unique Tailor in my opinion is one of the best tailors in Dallas. They do great work and and reasonable prices. They have altered suit, jeans, pants, shirts and a coat for me this last week. The work is fast, turnaround times are quick and everyone I met has been friendly. If you have a pair of jeans they will even turn them around in an hour. An HOUR. I waited for my table for brunch this last week for longer than that. Lol. But seriously, if you need a great tailor give them a try. I have not been disappointed yet in the quality of their work on any item. Not sure if they've gotten a new seamstress, but the work hasn't been right for awhile. I brought in a jumpsuit to get hemmed and they charged me a $10 rush fee because I specified a date I needed it by even though it was far out. Not to mention I overheard them charge the person behind me in line $20 for the same thing. No consistency! When I called to complain the manager, Peter, told me "just not to come back then" and hung up on me. Very unprofessional and rude. Before coming by I called asked if they could squeeze me in for the day and they were great and accommodating over the phone. Once I arrived they told me there was a rush fee which was fine and the lady continuously asked "are you sure" "it's 30 you sure" severel times. I went ahead and paid and was estimated it would be ready by 3pm. 4pm comes around so I call and I was asked for my last name, the time I came in, the number on the ticket, and they could not find it. Also, asked "did you not receive text" and I said no that's why I'm calling to see the status on my order. After a few minutes they said it's ready to go ahead and come. Came in for a zipper repair, inspected the entire outfit incase it needed any other repairs/alterations before even bringing it in. Zipper was fixed then came out with this tear can't just dismiss it when it's right next to the zipper. They were willing to fix it for an additional $5 which wasn't the issue, the issue was I did not bring it in that way or would of asked for them to fix that too.
