I have come here for many years. I have several pairs of jeans that they hemmed a decade ago, that…read moreI still wear. Generally, speaking in the past, the work, they did was accurate and held together. But recently, the hems have not held up, they fall out in a matter of weeks. This time, it was simple girls uniform skirts, that are $25 apiece to hem. We had two of our daughter's skirts hemmed. They get washed once a week, and neither made it through a month. The Tailor was not happy with fixing them and mentioned that the blame might be my washing machine. I assumed they would apologize and just fix it right away. I did not expect to have to beg for them to fix it while they wanted to be paid. They made it clear that they would not fix it again without getting paid again. I am very surprised that their answer to poor workmanship was to blame the washing machine and ask me to pay again. In the end, they took the skirt into the back room for two minutes and brought it back out and gave it back to me. It is fixed, with jagged seams and loose threads hanging out. At least for a week or two. I will be looking for another Tailor.

Young's Tailor is hands down the worst tailoring experience I've ever had…read more I dropped off two pairs of jeans -- one being rhinestone jeans -- and was told they would be ready the following Wednesday. When I came back the next Thursday to drop off a suit that I urgently needed for an event the very next day, I found out only ONE pair of jeans had been touched (the simple button repair). The rhinestone jeans were not done at all. Despite this, I was assured multiple times that my suit would absolutely be ready by 1 PM the next day. I was very clear about the deadline and asked repeatedly if this was guaranteed. I dropped the suit off around 2 PM and was explicitly told it would be done on time. Then, at 8:30 PM that same night, I received a call saying: 1. The alterations would now cost almost $500 -- after originally being quoted a fraction of that 2. The suit would NOT be ready on time By that point, every other tailor was closed, and since they don't open until 10 AM, I was left with no realistic chance to get the suit altered before my event. The result? I couldn't wear the suit at all. On top of the incompetence, they were unapologetic and rude. The guy working the front clearly has no idea what he's doing and gave me false assurances from the start. This felt like a bait-and-switch with pricing and timelines, and it completely ruined an important event for me. Unacceptable service, dishonest communication, and zero accountability. Save yourself the stress and go literally anywhere else.

It was almost as if she asked me when I needed it by just to tell me that it would take a week longer than that, and she could only get it done in time if she charged me extra $ - totaling $25. Felt like she was taking advantage... I left and went to Red Carpet Tailor in Lakewood instead - they offered to have it done same day and basically at no charge because it was such a simple request. Will not be coming back here.

She also taught me that the true artists, the ones who have been in their profession for generations of families and years of development, are worth the cost of their skills and expertise. I Googled a tailor that could alter some fast fashion clothing that I needed for work the next week. When I stopped into this location, they instantly welcomed me and didn't judge my cheap material for one second. A few clothes pins and chalk markings later, my pieces were ready to snip and stitch and I left feeling valued and respected. Today, when I got my items, I felt like a distinguished woman. These clothes, shot out by the thousands in a one-size-fits-all format, suddenly wrapped around me in the right areas and highlighted the best parts of me, as if these were made just for me. The wonderful people here adjusted things I didn't even know needed it. Luckily, they're stuck with a lifelong customer and I hope people, both near and far, come here to get their pieces altered/tailored for any and all events.

I am incredibly grateful to Mr. Vu and Vu Custom Clothing and Alterations…read more After losing my family in the July 4th floods, I needed a dress altered for my mom's funeral on a very tight timeline. Mr. Vu didn't hesitate--he expedited everything so I would have it in time, and the work was absolutely beautiful. The fit was perfect, and it meant so much to be able to wear something that felt right on such an important and difficult day. What truly sets him apart, though, is his kindness. During one of the hardest times in my life, he showed genuine care and compassion. He took the time to listen, to support me, and over time, he became more than just someone providing a service--he became a friend. It's rare to find someone who combines such skill with such a big heart. I highly recommend Vu Custom Clothing and Alterations to anyone looking for quality work and truly meaningful customer care. I will always be thankful.
