I've been coming here for over 10 years. I recently took in three pairs of very expensive pants and asked twice to make sure they were keeping the original hem because they had distressing and I wanted to make sure they kept that. She assured me they would. They did not do that and now all three pair look terrible. They did not even match the color thread the pants already had and didn't even do a good job on the hem. The craftsmanship is sloppy, not to mention not what we had talked about. There is a language barrier and that may be part of the problem. As someone who has been coming here for over a decade, I thought they would have better customer service but only blamed me and took no responsibility. I keep trying to go here and I'm disappointed every time. I took a dress in that had a hem loose but I had tap on the hem to hold it up. Lee's Tailor literally sew on top of the tap. Didn't remove it and the hem job is terrible. It's loose and I'll probably have to take it somewhere else after a few wears. read more

I'm so very disappointed and upset. I've been going here for 4 years. I had to bring Back in two long jumpers that had been previously altered by them. The length was still too long and one leg was shorter than the other. My mistake was not trying them on there the first time. I tried to explain that I'd like both sides to be pinned just for good measure and that this was the second time to bring them in. I was ACCUSED of wearing different shoes when getting them altered. And that they couldn't help me. I felt like I was in a parallel universe. They were the only shoes that I have for those particular outfits so I know for fact they are the same shoes. Don't recommend for important clothing items!! I came in with a thin jacket- I wanted it taken in and a simple button added. I waited 6 days. When I came in to pick it up, I wanted to try it on before leaving the store, and they tried to stop me. I opened it up to see it in terrible condition, so I see why they wanted to rush me home before seeing the poor quality of work. The two sides were completely lopsided, and there were 20-30 loose threads hanging 2-3 inches off! What? The man proceeded to grab scissors and start cutting them off me, one my one, while I was wearing it. At this point he cut the fabric and created more loose threads that could not be repaired! In addition, they did not add the simple button on that I paid for. I'm baffled by how a simple order would go so wrong. I would NOT recommend trusting them with anything important! They said there was nothing they could do to fix it. There was a tremendous language barrier with both the man and woman, which I thought may explain the lack of button, but I was charged for it. Despite my patience, they were not friendly whatsoever. The customer in front of me left in tears, so I can only imagine how her experience went. read more

I've gotten A LOT of stuff tailored here. Here's what you need to know: The prices are fair. Narrowing Pant legs is about $18 and another $18 to take in the waist and seat a little. But as to the quality of the work, it depends on what you're getting done. I would say they're great for easy jobs, and I'd avoid them for tough jobs like jackets. Here's the detail on that: If you need pants hemmed, they're great. If you want the waist taken in, they're great. If you want the legs of your pants narrowed, they're great with typical pants. However I had some jeans with a pattern on them, and because they narrowed from one side and not evenly on both sides, more of the pattern was taken off on one of the sides and I feel like it now looks odd. Do NOT bring in a suit jacket for tailoring. After the tailoring, I tried it on and it looked great, but I couldn't lift up my arms more than a few inches! They said no problem they would fix it. So I come back a week later and now the chest is disproportionately too big and the arms still don't move. This time they acted frustrated and basically said they didn't know what to do and gave the jacket back to me. This is after I spent $84 on the jacket alone, and had given them 8 pairs of pants over 3 weeks with no comments on anything else. So yeah, I'm a bit frustrated with them. But they're nice people so I don't want to hack their rating, even though they really only deserve 2 stars after I wasted a bunch of money with them on my suit. It's also a little frustrating when you go there when the younger girl isn't there (1/4th of the time). Because then nobody speaks great english. read more

Judging by the criteria of good tailoring (http://www.extrapetite.com/2009/11/basic-alterations-good-and-bad.html), I have found a solid spot. Spring cleaning revealed 4 dresses, 2 skirts, and a pair of pants of good quality but no-longer-good fit. I haven't gone to a tailor for years and lost some weight in the meantime (1-2 sizes). It took days of hesitation (and Yelping) before I decided to entrust my Banana Republic and J. Crew items to Lee's. Overall, they did a great job taking in the fabric around the waist, hips, and/or hems. With the exception of one skirt, the stitching was consistently smooth for all types of materials. The pulling of fabric on the one skirt isn't significant. The threading needs to coincide with a tricky side zipper so I can't complain. If you have an expensive item or delicate fabric though, do politely ask what technique she plans to use - she's really nice & patient. $133 and a week's wait later (I wasn't in a hurry), I feel like I have a new wardrobe! read more

This tailor shop is great. I was tired of going all the way from uptown to Unique Tailor (afternoon traffic? no thanks), so I decided to look for a place closer to home. I found this spot as I like to get kolaches from Sunrise Donuts next door. I brought in 2 shirts to taper and one pant to hem. It's not busy so you can get in and out pretty quickly. I was able to get all of it altered in about 3 days, so decently quick turnaround (I didn't ask for any quicker since I wasn't in a rush). Anyway, when I got the clothes, they fit perfectly. The cost wasn't that bad either (I don't know exactly how much, but I'll check next time). Quick service, good tailoring, closer to uptown. read more

The worst experience I've ever had with tailoring. Language barrier and communication problems led to my pants not being hemmed correctly. The second time I went to pick them up after the correction they could not remember that I paid already, and then when I got home and looked at my pants there were small holes in one leg near the thigh. read more

I took in 2 long dresses to get them shortened and one of the dresses had a hole right in the middle few inches below my chest area, so it was pretty noticeable. I have tried many places and usually it takes a week to get my stuff back, however, at Lee's it only took 2 days and I'm shocked because I can't tell where the hole was after she fixed it!!! After finding out I had rushed over after work to pick up my dresses, she told me to call and she'd stay later so I wouldn't have to rush next time. SHE'S SO NICE AND I SO APPRECIATE THAT SHE'S WILLING TO WORK W/ MY CRAZY WORK SCHEDULE!!! I give Lee's Tailor A+++ for customer service, quality work, and price. When I dropped off my jump suit to get it hemmed, I was quoted $10. When I came to pick up the suit, the owner tried to charge me $15. This was a brand new outfit with tags. When I picked it up, there was white stuff all over the lining. (Looks like cum). I really wish that I could post pictures. Do not go to this place! It is a scam! The only thing worse than this tailor's work is their customer service. Brought in a pair of jeans for a simple leg hem. They hemmed them with too much length and the stitching was an inch from the edge. All the rest of the stitching on these jeans is 1/4" from edge or in width. Had to come back and have them fix their mistake. As I handed the pants to them after they marked the corrections I was treated very rudely and told that after they do this "no more complaints, ok?!". I was in a day before dropping these jeans off. I didn't shrink in a day. Tried being polite through the angry stares as I walked back in carrying the jeans back. Tried being polite as I was being treated like it was my fault for coming back today. Explained I was back because they didn't do the job correctly the first time. The lady kept repeating "no more complaints, ok?!" At that point the man began to raise his voice behind me. It takes a lot to get under my skin and infuriate me. When I dropped the pants off Friday morning they had them ready for me the same day at 6. Now I was in their shop on Saturday morning and being told Wednesday was the earliest they could have them ready because somehow they got that busy in one business day. With so many other tailors in the immediate area I'm surprised how Lee's Tailor is still in business. Go elsewhere and be shown respect as a customer. ive been here probably 5 times. every time ive picked up the repair job it has exceeded my expectations. all i have had done is denim repair, where they reinforce the jeans where it's either ripped or just worn really thin. honestly, the first time they did it i was beyond impressed, i didnt even know it was possible to repair them so well and the repair be invisible to the naked eye. ive tried to get the same thing done at a tailor near my house and she did a terrible job. it's worth the drive to have the job done here imo. customer service is lacking. in fact, last time i dropped off the lady coughed in my face (nasty a$$) but i really dont think she meant any offense and maybe it's a culture thing. they do incredible work tho and that is the most important thing when having clothes repaired for me. read more

It really should be called the "Vindictive Tailor". I went in today to give the tailor a second chance because it's a neighborhood business, and I want to support local businesses. I also wanted to give the tailor a second chance to rebuild my trust with him and perhaps positively revise my rating. I brought in a simple black merino wool J. Crew sweater with a small hole (about a quarter on an inch size) in the back. It was a simple repair job. He obviously noticed my yelp review and told me it was $50 DOLLARS TO REPAIR THE SWEATER! I'd definitely recommend this tailor. Their prices were good ($24 for a silk dress and dress pants hemmed) and relatively quick. The time between drop off and pick up was six days - I wasn't in any hurry though. The only thing that made me nervous was when I went to pick up my items, they weren't packaged together. The woman handed me my dress so I asked where the pants were. She asked what they look liked. I think they should keep their items together but all in all I was pleased with them! read more

The worst tailor in Dallas. I dropped off a bridesmaid dress here to get hemmed, then for them to take out the wiring in the top + add padding. They quoted me $40. They literally added CARDBOARD cups.... then did not take the wiring out. When I asked them to fix it, and put in actual padding, they told me to come back 10 days later. 11 days later I came back, and they had done NOTHING to do the dress. After asking them to actually fix it, I had to explain for 10 minutes what I wanted. They kept agreeing like they understood, but it wasn't until I showed them a picture of actual padding that they understood. I came back a few days later and it was fixed fine. I went to check out and they told me it would be $70. I told them they wrote down $40 and she would not listen. They wouldn't let me take my dress until I paid the full $70. I will NEVER be back here again - absolute worst service from a tailor I've ever received. read more

Don't do it. I've taken at least 5 pants here. They all come un hemmed after a few months and one was a week. I took them to a real tailor who demonstrated the shoddy workmanship to me with a side by side comparison. Also they ruined a pair of boot cut jeans by cutting them down to slim fit. They just needed a simple hem at the ends of the pant leg. They are very cheap here but you will pay more getting it fixed. read more
