This place saved me from becoming bridezilla. She basically made my wedding dress! I had bought my dress in lovely bride and they never delivered the dress I ordered. In a panic, I found this place and she was able to re make my dress into what it originally looked like. Bea is the nicest! She was very helpful and was able to start re making the dress right away. She did a lot magic! I would definitely recommend! read more

Absolutely the best alterations I have ever found. Bea and her staff are the top tier of skilled artisans. She remodeled the bride's grandmother's wedding dress to be worn at the rehearsal and fitted the wedding dress to perfection. Recommend very highly! read more

Bea was professional, extremely skilled, and the turnaround time was very quick. The alterations for my wedding dress were perfect. My dress had a plunging neckline/back, and Bea thought of everything, including "a sit test" to make sure the dress did not gape with sitting. The bustle was simple but beautiful and functional with moving around. Although the alterations were pricey, the quality was well worth it. No wardrobe malfunctions whatsoever (despite the photographer wanting a deep dip kiss pose). I would definitely come back to The Fitting Room for future tailoring needs for formal events. read more

This review is waaaaaaay overdue but I wanted to make sure I got it done because Bea has done such wonderful work for me, that I am willing to drive the two hours to Dallas and back in order to get her professional touch on my clothes. If you spend your hard earned money on high end things, you want to be assured that they will fit you well and the quality of tailoring matches the quality of the clothes. If this sounds like you, look no further! Bea has altered various items for me, from pants to dresses to my wedding gown and everything has been immaculately altered and finished. I first brought a few trousers and jeans and I could tell that Bea is meticulous and a perfectionist, but also such a pleasant and generous person to work with. At the time we were still in the middle of the Covid pandemic and she had so many fun custom made face masks on display and after learning I worked in healthcare she graciously gifted me a few (that I always got complements on while working in the hospital!). My dog also loves her and always appreciated her treats! After seeing Bea's excellent work on my first few items I felt confident that she would help me look my best for my wedding and she truly delivered. I had three dresses altered, one for rehearsal dinner, one for reception and of course my wedding gown. She actually helped take my measurements for my wedding gown so the designer could make it, and lo and behold the gown fit like a glove. Bea did help to shorten the shoulder straps and train for better mobility and I felt so confident and beautiful wearing my gown! For my reception dress, I had a Rick Owens gown picked out, which has a lot of draping. Bea expertly altered the length while maintaining the complex draping at the back of the dress and even made a custom face mask out of the excess fabric. Talk about going the extra mile to make my experience so wonderful! Overall I can't say enough good things about Bea and her team. She also designs her own beautiful clothing! Again, I am willing to drive two hours and back to get her expert touch on my most coveted clothing items, and I highly recommend her. read more

Quick turnaround and fair pricing, not to mention the lobby has a cute knick knacks section to shop while you wait.

What a great service!! Everything fit so well! The ladies at the front are such sweethearts. I will definitely be back

Bea is so knowledgable and talented. I've been searching for a place like this for years and was so happy to find her.

Bea transformed my dress so that it remained fitted, smooth and gorgeous, but allowed me to move and dance in it. She knows her stuff! Her and her team were so knowledgeable, making me feel so confident that my dress would fit perfectly and flatter me. I am SO happy with the work she did. read more

The Fitting Room always does a tremendous job with my garments. I've taken several high-end pieces to them over the years and have learned to trust their judgment on how to alter items to flatter my body shape perfectly. They are very easy to work with and provide an amazing quality service. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a tailor in Dallas. read more

I would never go anywhere else for alterations. I brought Bea a dress that I absolutely loved - but was two sizes too small - and she and her team turned it into the dress of my dreams. It fits me like it was made for me and they added the most perfect touches. She truly made me feel like Cinderella! Customer service was incredible. She explained everything that they would do and made sure it was what I wanted. I would trust the fitting room staff with any item I need altered. I was actually a little sad to pick up my dress, they made it such a fun experience!!! read more

One of the best experiences I've had with any sort of alterations or tailoring. The expert hands of Bea and her team will not disappoint. I have a bridesmaid gown that I cannot wait to bring to her and her team to alter. The best! read more

The other reviewer was correct insane prices! Just to have the sides taken in on a blouse here is what they wrote back to me. Today is 11/26/2017 .....(This time of the year. Time to complete is 10 days Depending on the type of shirts and the seams,Thus type of alteration runs anywhere between $26-56. Per shirt.) I have received quotes from 3 others in my area with great reviews this place is 2 to 3 times the price. While they may be exceptional for maybe for a wedding gown and your perfect day. There is no special science to take in the seams of a shirt. For everyday alterations I could never use or recommend these people. If you have invested in thousands for a gown maybe this would be your place. But one would think alterations would be included in a designer gown of any kind. read more

Sew Lovely! When I had, with serendipity, said 'Yes to THE dress"* over a year ago while at a work conference down in ATX (*found dress at Blue Bridal Boutique), I knew I had plenty of time to research for a reputable seamstress in Dallas to alter my size 10 sample sale dress. Months later, I began my initial research on Yelp. Here is where I found The Fitting Room (TFR), among a few other tailoring shops that were carefully vetted. Even though TFR is pricey compared to the others, you are going to get your monies worth with Bea Harper. I chose this place not only because of superior quality in craftsmanship and attention to detail, but because of the convenient location (directly across from Wholefoods on Lemmon). The shop is merely a short distance from my office and I could make 3 or 4 trips for fittings during the middle of the week. Overall, scheduling my time during the week made my weekend schedule more flexible. If I had gone with the other stores, I would have wasted too much on time and gas. After working with her, I have to frankly say, Bea lives up to her reputation. To echo the other Yelp Reviews, she is a delight to work with; extremely professional, detail-oriented, and efficient. Her tailoring team is also top-notch too. There is a really sweet Vietnamese tailor who has been with her for over 10+ years. They seamlessly collaborated in making my dress exquisitely fit my petite frame. I hope to come back again and get future tailoring done at the Fitting Room. If you're nervous about your gorgeous gown getting chopped up and pulled apart like I was, spend the extra money to get your dress done right and sleep worry free. Go to Bea Harper's lovely shop, The Fitting Room. You "sew" won't regret it! PS. I'll post an update of before and after pictures of my dress after my wedding in October! read more

I truly can't say enough wonderful things about Bea Harper and The Fitting Room. I had a terrible experience with the alterations of my wedding gown at the store where I purchased it. The dress did not fit properly at all after several fittings. The alteration person was extremely rude and and unwilling to do the simple things I asked. I finally decided to look elsewhere for help. From a Google search, I found Bea at the Fitting Room and my problems were solved. From the moment you step into the store, you are treated with respect. The level of professionalism I experienced was profound. Bea visited with me about my expectations and then she went to work. She looked over every inch of my dress and explained in detail what she thought needed to be done. My experience was amazing!!!!! I knew that finally I was going to get the help I needed. My wedding gown was perfect! I highly recommend Bea and The Fitting Room for wedding gown alterations. Her attention to detail and the kindness she showed me was priceless. Thanks again, Bea!!!! read more

I brought my wedding dress here for alterations, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience or be happier with the end result. Bea Harper truly is a master of her craft and she has a great demeanor for working with brides. In fact, everyone at The Fitting Room was helpful and friendly. Scheduling appointments was easy, the fittings were great, and the work was impeccable. Bea even repaired my veil at the final fitting when she noticed an issue with the edging - no detail overlooked! They also did a wonderful job fitting my mother's dress for the wedding. I can't say enough good things. If you need quality alterations on an extremely important piece, The Fitting Room is the place to go. read more

They did a good job tailoring my clothing; however I was treated as if I was intruding when I entered the store. Both times I was greeted rudely as if it was a bother for me to be there, giving them my money. I would prefer to take my business somewhere that does not treat me as a nuisance. Prices were pretty high, but you generally get what you pay for. read more

I recently moved to Dallas and had no idea where to go to get quality alterations. I needed a bridesmaid dress altered for an upcoming wedding (6/15/19) and decided to turn to yelp. I requested a quote and got a very quick response from Bea. I went in for my first fitting and the dress needed more extensive work than I had thought. (The top was too tight on the dress (zipped but not comfortably), needed shortened, and straps sewn in.) Bea was very reassuring, and even though the price was higher than I had planned you really do get what you pay for! I dropped the dress off on 5/9 and picked it back up on 5/21. I am SO happy and relieved with the results!! They got it right the first time and you can't even tell where additional fabric had to be sewn in the top to make it work. I'll definitely be going back to The Fitting Room for any future needs. Thanks to Bea and her team for a job well done! read more

I have a jacket that they only made 250 of and then the company went out of business. Needless to say, this was a very important piece of clothing to me and I didn't want to trust just anyone with the alterations. I was recommended to use the fitting room and they exceeded my expectations and then some. I will say, they are more expensive than the local dry cleaner tailor on the corner, but the quality is worth every single penny. If you have a one of a kind item or something that is precious to you, I cannot recommend them enough. read more

No need to look any further! Make your appointment now! I was searching for a bridal alterations place and stumbled across The Fitting Room on Yelp. I live close by and had driven by it multiple times without realizing what I was missing! I'm getting married in less than a week and took my bridal gown for alterations to Bea and am ecstatic with the results. I knew I wasn't going to the most inexpensive place but to me it's worth getting the perfect fit for the added cost. I mean, they are pictures I'll have for the rest of my LIFE - definitely want the dress to fit perfectly. Bea could quickly fit me in to her busy schedule and I was immediately at ease when she was talking about the alterations she was going to do that would make my dress fit me! I went in for a total of two fittings and truly couldn't be happier with the end result. I will now be taking any and all my alterations to Bea. She is extremely professional and realistic about what can be done and making sure you are OK with the alterations she and her team would be doing! Thank you for making my wedding day that much more exciting and perfect! read more

I recently took my wedding dress in for alterations and they did a great job. They are not the cheapest place in town but with an intricate lace dress that needed to be taken up quite a bit I wasn't looking for a cheap fix. Bea was wonderful and great at figuring out how to work her magic on this complicated project. At the end of the day my dress fit like a glove and I would recommend this place a hundred times over read more

We had to purchase my daughter's prom dress in a larger size because her size wasn't available. We took it to Bea and she and her tailors worked absolute magic. You'd never know they had to remove some of the beading, make adjustments, and then added them those tiny beads back on. The pricing was on the high side but it was absolutely worth it to see the big smile on my 18 year old's face. We'll definitely be back when the need arises. read more

I went into the Fitting Room needing some desperate help with a bridesmaid dress, and Bea immediately put me at ease with her expertise and honesty. I felt confident from start to finish that I was in great hands and she's truly a master of her craft. I'm a little embarrassed to say I've been meaning to leave 5 stars and a comment for 3.5 years! Bea was amazing and truly saved my wedding dress from poorly fitting 2 weeks before our wedding! She went above and beyond to fix what another tailor had messed up on my dress. I had been working with another alteration place for 3 months and they couldn't get it right! I finally gave up on them but at that point we were down to the wire! Any bride will know this is terrifying! But after Bea got a hold of it it fit so perfectly after only one try!!! 5 stars for how they seriously saved the day! They were so accommodating and helpful with my dilemma! Highly highly recommend them! read more

Bea Harper does an impeccable job of fitting your wedding dress to form your body beautifully. My friend went to her and the attention to detail that the team demonstrated was amazing! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. You get what you pay for here for sure. Also, while I was waiting for my friend to be fitted I did some fun shopping in her store. They have gorgeous jewelry that is hand made and just to die for! I highly recommend coming here for any of your alteration or custom apparel needs or if you just want some fun jewelry/accessories! read more

This is not a review on the work because I'm sure they do a good job but it more a review on their pricing and value. I wanted to a have a tuxedo altered for my wedding and was quoted over $300 for it. I brought a size 10 sample sale wedding dress here and Bea not only altered it perfectly to fit my size 2 body, but she did so quickly and professionally. She also designed a short pencil skirt for the reception that is better than anything I could have found elsewhere. I feel like Bea really took time to understand my tastes and style. It is clear that she loves what she does and takes pride in doing it well. I will post pictures after the wedding. Also, they have a cute boutique in the front of the store. I didn't buy anything when I was in, but I will go back from time to time, especially if I'm looking for a gift. read more

Love Bea! She is class act taking pride in her work, attention to detail & uses only the best quality.

Definitely not cheap, but worth every penny. They altered my wedding suit, and can honestly say it's the first suit I've ever really enjoyed wearing since it fits so well! Good work! read more

Bea Harper has an innate understanding of her clientele and their needs. Her expertise runs from fitting or re-imagining an older outfit to the creation of complex garments. She has made two shirts for me incorporating fine lace items from the 1930's, inserted leather adornments to a cocktail dress, made a quilted tapestry for a bedroom and pieced old Venetian lace together for a curtain. Repairs to a 1930's rare silk Chinese wedding robe were impeccable. Bea added trim to a rain hood from an old fur stole, and it's simply terrific. Her staff is lovely and extremely competent. I've enjoyed picking up cards, ready to wear and gifts from her shop as well. We are lucky to have her expertise in Dallas. read more

Terrific tailor. They took my off the rack tuxedo and turned it into a perfectly trim custom fitting suit. As another reviewer wrote, it's not cheap... Bea and her team of artists are EXCELLENT! There work is outstanding. She made my wedding dress vision come to life. I would highly recommended The Fitting Room to anyone who is looking for an outstanding alteration experience. read more

Wonderfully gifted and talented. My wedding dress has essentially been butchered at another Dallas tailor, and Bea and her team completely restored and reconstructed the entire dress. She meticulously reattached all the godets that had been torn off, hand-sewed missing sections of tulle that had been ripped out, reconstructed the cage bodice and adjusted the overlapping lace to lay perfectly as the original dress had been designed, correctly altered the length of the 8+ layers of tulle, and repaired tears in the train of the dress. The wedding dress was a 2015 Oscar de la Renta with lace backing (a large section which had been cut out against my express wishes at a different Dallas tailor); to my amazement, she had the exact lace to fill in the missing section in the back of the dress and restore the dress to its original condition. I would venture to say no other tailor in Dallas, or even the state of Texas, has the lace to complete this type of repair. The team at The Fitting Room has the talent, material resources, and capability to deliver any and all tailoring needs and get your clothing to look exactly the way you want. Highly recommend. read more

Definitely a great place to get a wedding dress fitting. The quality of work was fantastic and my dress fits like a glove!

This is a far overdue review. Bea is incredible. In 2013, she redesigned and tailored my mother's wedding dress into a modern, interesting dress I wore to a shower and she also tailored my wedding dress to fit me perfectly. Her space is lovely, with spacious fitting rooms and well run appointment times. Her work is exquisite and I couldn't have been more pleased. Thank you Bea! read more

I brought my wedding gown to Bea Harper for alterations and she did an exceptional job. My dress was huge when I first received it, and needed quite a bit of precise alteration to be able to fit my figure. I was really nervous about how much work it needed, but Bea put me at ease right away and assured me the dress would look beautiful once we finished. After several fittings, I could see the progress being made, and felt more and more relaxed. My dress was made of very delicate fabric and Bea's team took excellent care of it. Bea has a wonderful eye for detail, and was able to enhance my dress with pieces of lace she had in her fitting room. I trusted her when she shared her suggestions for a few other alterations, and the changes really made me feel so much more comfortable and secure in the dress. Bea's confidence and experience level really shine through in her work and personal approach with the client. When it came time for the final fitting, Bea was so accommodating in helping me figure out how to pack it for my destination wedding. She was always patient, kind, and took plenty of time with me at each fitting. I would highly recommend Bea to any bride, as she will take excellent care of you and your gown from start to finish. read more
