Eta knows her stuff! i brought in a Tom Ford suit with very challenging lines (a wide peak lapel with a dramatic curve). she was able to make the suit fit extremely well, while maintaining both freedom of movement and integrity of the design. to do so, she went through two jacket iterations and three pants iterations. not only does Eta know what *to* do to clothes, she knows what* not* to do, and will advise against unreasonable changes (in my case, shortening the length of the jacket. it'd make the wide lapels look imbalanced!). i also had seven dress shirts tailored across several brands/cuts. with an athletic build, even the slimmest fit dress shirts aren't slim enough. other tailors i've tried produce a shirt that spreads along the button line when moving shoulders/chest. Eta was able to edit each shirt to be form-fitting, while miraculously allowing movement. finally, talking with Eta during the tailoring process is a delight. she's exceptionally kind and caring. read more

I went to Martha's for alterations on my grandmother's wedding dress. My grandmother was 6 ft tall and as thin as a broomstick, so my 5'6" self needed help. Martha did an amazing job with my dress (for an incredibly low price!) and it fit me perfectly for my wedding day. She even tailored the dress without cutting it, so none of the vintage fabric would be lost. She understood the importance of this dress, and treated it with the utmost care. I would trust her with anything vintage. She does an amazing job. Her work is impeccable, but her kindness and love for her customers is why she deserves more than 5 stars. I felt like I was going to my grandmother for alterations. She was so excited about my wedding and so supportive. This was especially meaningful to me as a LGBTQ+ bride. I looked at the reviews that people gave 1 star. Mostly was price. I could care less about the price for how amazing of a job she did. Sure one place may do the "same" job for cheaper, but they're just going to take it and start altering it and be done with it. Eta on the other hand will make it where your item is yours. It's not anyone else's. It fits your body perfectly. Not too tight, not too loose. She is doing an outstanding job and I would recommend her before I even received my final product. She did an outstanding job measuring, finding what I wanted, having me come back to see if I like how it looked, asking questions, seeing that I am active in my calves so she would make adjustments that would allow me to get more use out of my pants. Seriously, please take the chance and visit her as you won't regret it once you start getting compliments on your item. Make sure all of your suits and dresses are form fitted by visiting Mrs. Eta at Martha's Alterations. I cannot recommend her work enough. Plus, in addition to doing a fantastic tailoring job, Mrs. Eta is just such a delight to see and talk to. Love her. I came in with 2 suits that needed to be tailored, with one of them being an outfit I needed the following weekend for a wedding. After some meticulous measurements and getting to feel like a prince from a drama (:D), *wind blowing my hair* *slow mo close up of my face* Mrs. Eta worked with me closely on what she thought would look best for my suits on my body, and figured out a good schedule for me to revisit the suits before my big day (^^). This review comes a bit late because of travel and just my overly busy schedule. I got married a year ago overseas and had my wedding gown altered at Martha's Alterations. Let me tell you, Eta is a miracle worker. I had my dress delivered about 4 sizes too big and ugly as war. With not enough time or money to get a new wedding gown, I took my dress here and Eta not only altered my dress to fit but it also looked gorgeous by the time she was done with it. Through tears and fittings that I thought were futile she kept her sense of humor and scheduled me in as much as possible. She went above and beyond the call of duty. Bless her and her talents! I haven't been in Dallas long enough since the wedding to visit but I plan to as soon as I am able! Thank you again, Eta for making my dress, beautiful. I recently lost 100+ pounds and my wardrobe has been in overhaul status since last October. I took a few pieces to Martha's that I couldn't bear to part with. I am currently a size 4 and all of the clothes I took were size 12 or larger. Eta worked a miracle! Everything fit and nothing looks "altered". I am very impressed. I'm 5"4 and I alter everything. Eta is the best in Dallas. Before going to Martha's I was a regular at Harry's Tailor Shop. Eta is better and her prices are amazing. Wonderful work! Eta is incredibly friendly and I loved working with her. I called ahead to make an appointment which I highly recommend! I went to her for alterations on a formal/floor length bridesmaid dress to let out some seams (far too tight through bottom half) and she worked serious miracles in 3 weeks for me! The dress now fits perfectly thanks to Eta. She also tightened the seams on the top half of the dress. All of this cost $55 which I think is incredibly reasonable with just 3 weeks notice. I brought a second dress to her for similar alterations and that cost $65. Major thanks to Eta for her work! I highly recommend going to her for alterations. read more

Its a little hard to find if you don't know what you are looking for, cute little house on Lovers Lane with a circle driveway. I took seven pairs of jeans to be altered after loosing some weight and the service was fantastic! The seamstress was very nice and sociable, and quick with getting the measurements done and me off to work on time. I picked up the pants today and they fit perfectly. I feel like I have a brand new wardrobe! I couldn't even tell the pants had been altered by looking at them. I will use them again for any alterations I need done. read more

Does absolutely amazing work. I stopped getting my suits fitted and altered at Neiman's and Nordstrom(free when you buys a suit there) just so I can start having her fit them for me.
