I went to this tailor for alterations on running clothes a few years ago. Because I needed a quick turnaround I paid $230 for a hemline and for a top to be taken in. More than triple the value of the costumes but I didn't know where else to go at the time. I said I would never go back when I received the items and the hems fell out and there were loose strings all down the side after paying dearly. This past week my daughter needed alterations quickly on her homecoming dress. Her dress arrived late and so we went in before they opened before school and a wonderful lady helped us. She did a perfect job and met our timeline and charged reasonably. I was so pleased and thought maybe they had changed. NOPE....they are still out to exploit and charge whatever they think they can get away with. I went in today with a basic hem needed on a Halloween costume. Simple athletic material dress from Amazon. I did cringe when I saw the older man come out instead of the kind lady. He was the one that grossly overcharged me originally. He told me it would be $100 to hem this dress one inch because it was rushed. I found another tailor down the street that charged $30 for the 'rush job hem' I want to like this place so much because they are conveniently located but they don't have prices posted and definitely throw out numbers based on what car you drive up in or what you're wearing. Avoid them unless you want to feel taken advantage of and insanely overcharged. read more

Not only were they able to make my alterations super fast (quoted me same day), the quality was great. I am not one to usually give reviews but unfortunately I do feel one is needed here. I brought my mom's wedding dress into Red Carpet Tailors a couple of weeks ago after having a bad experience with a different private tailor before. I had asked for them to detach the boddess from the skirt and make the boddess into a top that I could wear with a different skirt for my rehearsal dinner. They told me that they could do it but it would require a new zipper and told me it would be about $250. I thought that was a bit steep for what I was asking for but given that it was a wedding dress technically and I really didn't want to have to take it to another place, I agreed. They charged me that day and told me I could come pick it up in 2 weeks. Later that day I checked my credit card statement because when I checked out they never showed me the kiosk screen. They ended up actually charging me $280. I was a bit frustrated because I can understand if there was a credit card fee and tax but it feels like maybe they had tipped themselves on my card as well which I did not know about when checking out. Two weeks later I went back to pick up the dress and all they had done was seam rip the boddess from the skirt and the boddess was left with the big long original zipper. The Seamstress had told me that I would need to go buy a new jacket zipper on my own and bring it back to her so she could install it but that she would have to charge me again. At this point I was frustrated because I could have seam ripped it myself but for the $280 I paid, I expected the top to be wearable, which it was not. Now I have two unwearable pieces of my mom's dress and I am going to have to bring it somewhere else to get it fixed. I feel mislead and overcharged so I would do your due diligence before coming here with your clothes. read more

I do not normally like to leave reviews. But I took Two sport coats and a Suit to The altered at Lakewood Red Carpet. Took them Back a second time to have fixed because stitching was horrible. Where I could not wear the suit That weekend. After a second time I hoped they would be fixed. And they were still very messed up. Ended up taking them to a different alterations place. They stated "it was a horrible sewing job". Getting them redone And fixed from what Red Carpet did ended up costing me over $500. Not including the charges from Red Carpet in the beginning. Needed a Tux altered and they brought in the pants too much. I had a split seam on the waistband. I felt subconscious the entire time at my event but made it through. I returned the pants to have the waistband let out a bit. Unfortunately, I forgot I had dropped off the pants. A few months later, I need to wear the Tux again and realized I never picked up the pants. I went by and after some time, they were finally able to locate the pants. I come to this place today And I ask form the guy to make Hem to my jeans, and he ask for 30$ dollars only for the hem I ask him to make my jeans little smaller and he say it's another 30$ When I come to pay he said it's another 15$ if I want it ready less than one week I take my jeans and left I was going to a different place few minutes a way and the price was only 18$ for everything !! This guys in this place over charge you and if you call on the phone they will tell you they can make it ready whenever you like And then after you drive all the way to them they surprise you with extra charge. read more

Went here to have the straps shortened and length shorten and was told that it would be $150.... This was a basic satin dress with no embellishments. I was told that it was that expensive because it was considered rush since I needed it in 5 days. Her then asked me what I expected to pay to which I said I've never paid more than $40 foot basic alterations, like ever. He then offered to complete the service for $40 and I politely declined. I declined because I would never feel comfortable going back for subsequent items because I'd feel that I was being taking advantage of. I had a couple sport jackets tailored and they shortened the sleeves by folding the sleeve under - leaving 2 of the 4 buttons on the sleeve showing and two of the buttons folded underneath - absolutely unwearable. They did offer to "do it right" by shortening the sleeve at the shoulder for another $150 - obedouble what I paid up front. 100% do not recommend. read more

don't go here unless you want all of your alterations to be messed up and/or ruined. I went to get three pairs of pants hemmed. I'm 5'2 so I'm pretty used to having someone have to hem things for me. When I got the pants back two of the pairs I had when I put them on the leg lengths were different. I mean a significant amount difference. My right leg was an inch longer. I even was thinking maybe I put them on crooked, nope. I took them off and folded them in half to check the lengths and they were definitely not the same length. I called and they said they would fix it. I went in and dropped off the pairs of pants and picked them up fixed a day later. Well today I put on one of the pairs and the whole left leg seam somehow is completely undone. I don't have time to go home to change so I guess I'm going to look like a freak today. I paid $20 a pair of pants to get them hemmed and not only did they do it wrong once but now they're falling apart. Like I said I have been to may tailors and never had this issue. If I could give 0 stars I would. I would not recommend this place unless you want to have to bagger them to do their job correctly. read more

Horrible experience. I took a new sport coat in to have the sleeves shortened. They made one sleeve an inch and a half longer than the other. I took it back when I got it back the second time it was still a half inch shorter, so I took it to another tailor. He pointed out they just folded the sleeve over very cheap looking, very disappointing. Lucky i found a tailor to correct the shoddy work. read more
