I am so glad I researched and came across Miriam because she totally understood the type of look I was trying to avoid and what I wanted in terms of length and body/volume/cut/vibe! I've had prior experiences at other places that didn't quite achieve the look I was going for or left me feeling disappointed (I like more of a Western type cut/feel and did Not want an Asian type cut, and I've also had prior places that just totally either cut way too much off or gave me a totally different look than what I had in mind, and so what I wanted in terms of a more Western voluminous style cut is exactly what she gave me and she matched up with the inspo I was going for! I had used an Adriana Lima/still straight but voluminous type blowout inspo). Not only that, she is So incredibly cool as a person and I loved the girl time and chit chat we also got to have during the whole process. The reviews are right people, if you have long hair then go to her!!! (I'm sure she is also great with short hair too but I have super long hair lol and I am so glad I went to her). She even recommended someone to me for pinup style if i ever wanted it cause I love pinup/vintage looks and so now I have someone I can have in mind for those days as well :) (note to self Joseph will be great for that). She also recommended some Oribe products for me (Maximista thickening spray and Dry Texturing spray) as well as the Ibiza round brush and scalp-massages and biotin/vitamins for the goals I wanted to achieve on a daily basis in between cuts. By some divine intervention a crew member at Trader Joe's who had fantastic blonde hair pointed me in the direction to this salon. Those who have blonde hair know the importance of finding someone with the patience + talent to understand your hair goals and bring them to life. Sara at Union Salon is by far the most meticulous and talented colorist i've gone to. The salon itself was great during these COVID times. If you are still cautious I recommend going in the early part of the week as I did and it was pretty much empty. The salon was clean + welcoming. I've been going to Lora for over 9 years. She is outstanding in every way. Lora is consistently on time, which is no small thing and not talked about enough. Also, she is just nice to be around. If you feel like being quiet, Lora makes it very easy and comfortable to do so. I don't feel weird if I just want to sit in the chair and chill. If you feel like chatting, Lora is fun and personable. Most of all, she is excellent at what she does. Her cuts always grow out beautifully. Even when I've dropped the ball about booking my next appointment, and gone a few weeks too long between cuts, my hair still looks great (if I say so myself). Lora also does my color. I absolutely LOVE Union Salon! I love it so much that I try to advise everyone to visit this spot! Parking: only paid, coin parking. There is valet parking but I think it's cheaper on the street. Even if you don't have coins you're able to download the parking app and pay through there. Ambiance: clean and beautiful. They have a little beverage bar where you can grab a coffee or water. The receptionists are attentive and very kind. Hair stylist: I have only been with Lien and that's how it will stay. She is the best. I went in thinking about a color and she gave me her insight. I trusted her with what she thought was best and it was beautiful. The picture attached was the second time I came in where she added toner and did a cut. It looked beautiful. I love her sooo much! I haven't been to an actual hair salon since the pandemic, so of course I had to make sure my return was going to be amazing. My hair is long enough to let down a tower, still no healing powers yet though. It desperately needed a trim, and I also wanted a rose gold balayage with more pink hues. Since this was going to be my first balayage that needed hair bleaching, I wanted to find someone who I could see a lot of sample work from and of course, who I felt like I could trust. After some research, I found Union Hair and came across Savannah's previous works. I knew I had to book her! Her next availability was going to be in two weeks, but I was willing to wait. The day before, the salon called and texted reminders. On the day of, I drove over. I do have one complaint, and it's the parking. Unfortunately, there is only meter parking, and a lot nearby that I read some not so good reviews about. I went with the meter parking that I needed to pay for. Download the app so you can refill your meter after the two hour limits expire while you're inside. When you get inside, check in with the two receptionists at the front desk, and they will offer you refreshments in the waiting area. After meeting Savannah, she took me to her station, and we immediately started with the cut. She made sure to understand what I was looking for and checked in multiple times to make sure it was what I wanted. Then she started the bleaching and dying process. There were long wait times in between the steps, but that's to be expected when you're getting your hair done. She also offered me refreshments while I waited. I had to refill my parking meter twice, so it took me around 5 hours from start to end. Savannah took her time to make sure everything was going right, and that the color was sticking to my hair. We even did another round to make sure I liked how the color was looking in the end. Then, we finished off with her styling my new rose gold hair into some nice curls. I ran my fingers through my new hair, and it was so soft! She recommended a product for me to use and showed me how to care for my hair so that the color would last. The total came out pretty pricey, but hey make sure to treat yourself once awhile. I never thought I'd be the type to splurge, but hair we are. I walked away feeling like a queen! read more

I moved to SoCal 3 years ago and didn't have the best experience with the first stylist i went to. Luckily Yelp pointed me to the right direction and I've been going to Amy for the last 2.5 years. Whenever I need a little r&r for my hair, she's my go to chick. Amy has 10+ years of experience in the hair world, she's knowledgeable and articulate with every step she's doing to my hair. Every time I see her we always do a quick consultation...what I like, what I don't like, things I want to change, and so on. She is a great listener and doesn't push anything on yet, yet will give you an educated opinion if you want to do something super crazy. She's constantly staying up to date with hair and color by attending continuing educational classes. I recently decided to color my hair for the first time, ya I'm a little late in the game. So we started off with mild highlights....level 3-4, and now 2 sessions later I'm completely blonde haha! She did warn me that it can be addicting. Union Salon staff from all the hair stylist to the receptionist have all been wonderful. You're immediately greeted with a beverage of your choosing, and yes that includes wine! They recently opened a 3rd location in West Covina so you know they're a fan favorite. Parking here is metered parking and the security does not play around. I've gotten a few of them...oi! She spent almost 4 hours handling my beast of a mane, and she couldn't have been nicer about talking me through what I was thinking and giving me tips on how to manage my color from here on out. Getting married next week and was nervous for new color/highlights, but Erika was so helpful and reassuring! just feel bad cause I didn't tip her enough (going back for a toner touch up and will make up for it!).
