I came in for a color correction and when I first asked if they have any color remover where they could lighten the overall hair before the highlight process I was told no. After seeing they couldn't I requested a full head of highlights, the stylist then told me no she would only do a partial. I still agreed assuming partial still meant blended just not as many highlights as a full. After my hair was completed for a color correction the stylist informed me partial meant top half of my hair, so the top half of my hair got colored and the bottom half was left completely untouched. It looks terrible, not blended, and I will end up needing to go somewhere to have it fixed. The line across is so unnatural and harsh, definitely does not look like what I would expect from a salon. I wish I would have known this prior to the service starting, I've never left a salon feeling worse than before I went. read more

They replied very fast and a was scheduled with Johnny. The salon it's very close by, plenty of street parking and cozy environment. I just came here for a hairstyle appointment for a wedding that I was attending as a guest. I specifically asked for Hollywood Waves and emailed 3 reference photos to the salon and they said "they were confident that Sunny could do it". I verified this with reception 3 weeks in advance over email and multiple phone calls. The day before I get a call from one of the receptionists to confirm my appointment but she mentioned a different stylist's name. Me: Wait, you said my hairstylist was Sunny and that she can do Hollywood waves. Reception: Oh I don't know who booked your appointment but it says *this hairstylists name*. Me: Umm... okay? Can this new hairstylist do Hollywood Waves? I specifically called and verified this before booking and sent photos to make sure. Reception: Yes this new stylist can do it. I couldn't see what she was doing to the back of my hair for most of my appointment and had to stay really still for her to achieve the S waves she was creating. Wow I was so disappointed when I saw the end result. Not to mention it took her 2 1/2 hours to get to this hairstyle and it just looks like she could have just curled my hair with a curling iron. She even needed another stylist to help finish because it was taking so long and her next appointment was waiting for a bit. I paid $75 for this style & still tipped her $20 (out of courtesy) and it was not worth it. :( I was heartbroken and upset when she took photos and showed me the final result. In this super chaotic busy holiday season, I realized my long hair had really dry, uneven and split ends and wanted to book a haircut appointment before a work trip, and a family vacation over winter break. I was able to book a next day appointment, and Rachel did a phenomenal job giving me exactly the cut I asked for! Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience here. I had an appointment this week and I told the stylist that I wanted medium to long layers. I do not want short hair. My hair was pretty long. In the mirror I showed where I wanted my longest hair... up to my armpits. I also said I don't want any short layer or anything above my shoulder. The stylist cut my hair at shoulder length. I voiced that that was too short. At that point nothing could be done. I ended up paying $75 dollars to lose my hair and not get the cut I want. I'm completely upset. A little pricey as it's salon prices but Sarah has been helpful with her recommendations. They practice social distancing best I've seen. They limit the number of stylists per shift so they have limited hours if you want a specific stylist. They have plexiglass between costumers when washing hair. I couldn't be happier with my hairstyle. I've been coming to Evolutions for a few years to see Mandy for a haircut. I held off on getting it colored, making excuses that I didn't have enough time to keep coming back to maintain it. I naturally have a very thin, flat hair that had no volume and would never hold a simple curl. Not only did Christina inject new life into my hair (she color corrected my hair from pink to blonde in one session - she's a miracle worker), but now my hair has texture and volume. This time I went in for a root touch up because my highlights were way past due as well as a hair cut since I've been wanting layers and wanted to try something new. I told her the look I was going for and she knew exactly what I wanted and did just that. She also made sure to tone my hair exactly the same as before since I loved the color and made sure to minimize where she was adding bleach so my hair wouldn't get damaged. She's always very careful and meticulous and knows exactly what she's doing so I've never had to worry. Huge Shout out to Sunny at Evolutions. She saved me from a reallly bad highlight job: A week ago I had highlights done from a friends long time stylist thinking I'd have nothing to worry about. I left:brown hair with pinstriped white-blonde highlights. This is not what I wanted. Today, Sunny sat me down in her chair. Took at look at my highlights and said: "Yeah, I had these highlights in the 90s" we both laughed - we talked about blending new highlights with the base color, adding toner and balancing the whole thing out. Our collaboration was exactly what I was hoping for. She took the time to teach me about hair color, style techniques and most of all - she was, professional, candid and sincere. Was looking for a new salon to go to as it's long overdue for a hair cut and color for me. Almost two years since my last one. I made an appointment for Saturday at 1PM, and just went with whichever stylist was available. I got Sunny as my stylist. She was great and so sweet, and made me feel comfortable. I cut off about 6 inches of hair, maybe more. My previous hair color was a weird light brown all over. I requested to do a full color to make it more cohesive and fresh. This review is for Lauren I'd been wanting to do some serious changes on my hair. Somehow, yelp brought me to lauren's instagram page and I reached out to her. First of all, her personality is great! She is so down to earth and sitting there for 4.5 hours felt so short. Her color work is fantastic! She asks questions to make sure you're getting your money's worth. She asks for inspiration pictures and asks what you like and don't like. She gives you options and really tries to get to know you. She educates you while you're there so you're not clueless on whats happening and is open to answering all of your questions. I felt so comfortable and trusted her with my hair, which I'm glad I did! She's really honest about what will happen during your session. We all have different hair so she will try her best to get you to your desired look.
