She walked in to my appointment 30 minutes late. There was no acknowledgement from Cynthia on her late arrival. I think as a business owner, it's important to advise if you are running behind schedule as it can also affect a clients time management. From Hot Mess to Hotness! After a series of expensive disappointments at various salons, I stumbled upon a color correction video on YouTube, it was Cynthia and to my good fortune she was local. I made an appointment and told myself not to get my hopes up because anything better would still be better than my current state. I cannot even begin to relay how talented this stylist is with color. Had my hair done with Cynthia for the first time a few months ago. I've wanted to write a review based on my experience during that visit but was not entirely compelled to do so until now... She did a great job, I must admit BUT the customer service level needs significant improvement. 1. Location: The place is a maze, so do yourself a favor and ask for a specific floor and side of the salon. I asked during multiple locations, and was just given the building address. Trust me, you will not find it if you just go by the address. 2. Pricing: She was promoting discounted pricing on IG $175 highlights and $55 haircuts. When it came to pay, she didn't take into account these promotions and billed me $250 for my hair, and $75 for my cut. That's $100 over the promotion... I paid, whatever, because I'm not cheap, but if you promote something, honor it without having your clients having to remind you of this. 3. Communication: do not send her a message on IG, text her instead. I learned this after waiting two weeks for a response and that is only because I saw this on her IG page. 4. Customer Service: Last but not least .... after walking what felt like a mile, I finally found the place. Yay.. but when I went in the suite, I felt like I was attending a frat house filled with girls whose sole interest was partying. My apt was scheduled the days before she was scheduled to leave for a trip to the east coast, which was kind of exciting! Granted, we all get excited for trips with girlfriends, BUT, work is work and first impressions are key. When I sat down, I was not greeted by anyone, not her assistant, or Cynthia herself... I honestly felt like I was at the wrong salon for a second. It was pretty uncomfortable. Although toward the end of the appointment more conversation was made, it left a sour taste in my mouth. No one wants to sit at a salon filled with girls who are yapping about men, clubs, music when they cant event say "hello, thank you for coming in!" In sum, if you are looking for a good hair dresser that is not as social, please go to her! Just watch out for pricing and ensure you bring a book so that you are not bored. read more
