I found Christine via yelp and I feel like such a fool for not doing enough research before! After 2 disasterous attempts, I needed someone to correct my "ombre" and I say it in parenthesis because it was barely that. Think Christina Aquilera circa "Dirty" days but reversed. okay, maybe not that drastic but close. I had a dark brown layer on top with caramel brown underneath. I was searching for ombre under yelp and reviews were mixed in all salons so i almost wanted to give up until I found christine's reviews/pictures. FINALLY! someone who knew how to do ombre with pictures to prove. I called Neihule and set up a consultation with Christine. We met and she told me she could fix it but since the top layer was colored several times - there was no guarantee what the end result would be after the lifting. I felt comfortable and confident enough with her anyway so i went ahead and booked an appointment for a few days later. Fortunately, the top layer color was demi-permanent and lifted wonderfully. Christine was able to lift the dark color, tone it, and match it perfectly with the caramel brown underneath. the end result was amazing! I wish we took a before picture but I am so happy with the results that Christine will, for sure, be my stylist from here on out. read more

Christine saved my hair! I went in with horrible wannabe ombre done a year ago by people that just didn't know what they were doing. I used her website and emailed her prior to booking my appointment. She responded to my email the next day. When I first arrived she spoke with me for a long time to try to construct a plan on how to correct my cut and color. She was able to get my hair looking great after two visits. I actually had to reschedule my appointment with her. She was very quick to respond and took care of it right away. Christine is super nice and easy to talk to. I went back today to get a partial because i wanted my hair a little lighter and to get some more dimension. She's really great about being able to add on to existing highlights and what not. A big bonus is that her method of coloring will still look good even when my hair grows out. I really can't recommend her enough. Christine is FABULOUS! Disclaimer: I suck at hair. I don't know the first thing about what to do with this giant mop on top of my head. Christine guided me through the entire process, which included ombre, roots, and a cut, talking me through what she was doing and how she was doing it. She did a fantastic job and she made my hair look amazing. I've received countless compliments on the ombre! Between the cut and color, I was in the salon for a good 4 hours. She was super friendly and a pleasure to be around. Aside from a bit of a stiff neck, I actually had a good time being there and working with her. I should also add that she was even super helpful pre and post haircut. I initially emailed her telling her what I wanted and about my hair history. She responded super quickly and it was really nice to be able to talk about what I wanted before I was even in that seat! Post haircut she emailed me some tips for keeping my color fresh, as well as the type of dye and mix she used so that I can get touch ups here in New York. Christine is a Los Angeles hidden 'gem'. She's a super charming girl. While this salon is not a pampering palace, it is absolute value-for-money and exactly, precisely what you want when you are looking for someone that knows how to do a phenomenal job with color, style and/or haircuts, etc. With hideously ethnic and slightly overwhelmingly thick hair that is far from low maintenance, I used to ask for a lot in my stylist before having the pleasure of meeting Christine - fast forward almost a year or more later, I just sit in her chair throw out some ideas and let her go about her business. Christine was the sweetest person ever, and is totally honest when it comes to what my hair needed. I haven't cut my hair in about two years because I had a short above the shoulder hair cut and regretted it right after, so I told myself I wouldn't cut it again. Let me just say this, I have not had my hair professionally done in several years before I moved to LA and I have been shopping around for stylists...A few weeks ago, I booked an appointment with a stylist at Eclectic Salon in the Mid City area and had a terrible experience (you can read my review on this salon on my page) and never even had my hair done! I booked the girl well in advance just so she could turn me away as a potential client...there's a lot more to the story but all in all, it was just a terrible experience and you shouldn't treat people who are trying to put money in your pocket like 2nd class citizens...The booking experience was the exact opposite with Christine, I booked about a week in advance with Christine, I received a follow up within a timely manner and then a reminder text....I walked in on time for my appointment, showed her what I was trying to go for with my color and style which was a picture of Ciara with an ombre and by the time I left I was looking like Beyonce! hahahahaha! I literally just left the salon with Christine and she did an amazing job on my color! I was afraid at first because I've never have had such a drastic change in the color but the results came out perfect. She really took her time and paid attention to what I wanted. Christine is fantastic! She really listens to what you want and will tell you if there will be a challenge achieving the look you want. When I brought in a photo of the ombre color I desired, she was careful to mention the discrepancy in how it would look in real life vs. photograph and proposed a solution. She is very meticulous and has a great aesthetic. Most colorists are not very good finishers (styling) but Christine is an exception.
