Their online booking system was very straightforward and easy to book, and I was able to book a "Hollywood Waves" session with Nicole. It was nice that they offered the $45 price without hair wash. It's a small shop located inside the Colonnade Mall on South Lake Ave. You can park in the parking lot in the back and it's located on the bottom floor of the Mall. Nicole was very sweet and I showed her a few pictures of inspiration. I liked that she listened to what I wanted, I had mentioned that my hair tends to frizz when I have curls so I'm glad she was able to tame my hair so it didn't at the end. Nicole is very talented and she made the experience so relaxing, and it seemed so easy to make my hair so beautiful.

I told Melissa he's a high schooler and also needs a sustainable cut/style. I should have never walked away leaving my underage kid there. I was really counting on Melissa to figure out if the look he wanted was possible with his hair texture after she got in his hair. When my kiddo came out, he had a fro with undefined curls, I was shocked and I could tell that my son was not happy. He said he thought there would be further styling or cutting but that did not happen. My teen doesn't quite yet have his voice to speak up. Needless to say when we got home, he was in tears and he had to stay home instead of going to a dinner event. I called the salon the next day and spoke to Angie. I sent her the pictures of what he wanted and what he ended up with. She said they would find a solution immediately. However it's been over a week of text messages that have not been returned. None of my voice mails have been returned. I even walked in to the salon and Angie was out to lunch. I was told Nicole would call me back. That has not happened. I managed to talk to Angie and she promised she would talk to Nicole that day and get me a response. It's now been over 7 days and this has not been resolved. We walked away paying Melissa $345 including tip. And another $100 in products. Seems like we need a call back and definitely need a redo which they advertise as their policy if there is unsatisfactory service or a refund. I hope that if Melissa reads this or the owners, they might consider growing a conscience in the treatment we have received.

Once I sat down, it was clear my stylist was in a mood. He refused to use any of the products I requested, saying he "doesn't like them," and proceeded to blow dry my hair with zero heat protection. The blowout was rough and he was aggressive with my hair, couldn't get it straight, and it was obvious I was in pain. Wanted to get up and walk out the entire time, and honestly should have. Went home, washed my hair, and redid it myself. Paying $70 for that experience was not okay. I don't write bad reviews often, but felt I had to warn others.

I sent screenshots to my sister so she can show them proof of all our conversations. Liz dismissed it still blaming me. I told my sister here is the text she sent me with prices because I have a feeling she's going to try to charge you more. Sure enough my sister said she tried to charge her more. Upon seeing my nieces to get them in their quinceñera dress I could not believe the makeup that was done on them. I could have done a better job. They slapped sloppy glitter on top of their eyelids and put on cheap eyelashes. Their makeup looked lfar from special and the girls were so disappointed they almost cried. This "beauty bar" is not for a special occasion! Avoid at all cost. You will be disappointed. The makeup artist is nicer than Liz that's for sure but does not do quality work. Julianne has been my stylist for years and I wouldn't trust my hair color and style to anyone else! I get consistent compliments on my color. Even when I am slow about getting in for a touch-up, it grows out beautifully, and that's a huge bonus when life gets hectic. Having been a client of Julianne's for so long now, it means when I'm sitting in her chair, it's like visiting with a friend. I also know if I ever wanted to change up my look, Julianne would be the first person I'd go to--she has a knack for bringing out a person's best qualities. Recently I was having some problems with build-up in my hair that shampoo and conditioner were making worse. She recommended some great products for me that have completely reversed that situation and are keeping my freshly colored hair looking its best. Can't say enough good things about Julianne. I got my balayage ombre done with Julianne Favela, and it turned out fantastic (2 sessions total)! All my friends complimented me, and each time they saw me again at another event, they would ask "is it lighter than before??" to which I always took it as a compliment haha. I went to the salon at Union Salon South in Pasadena where she works. The scheduling was also very easy, and you can do it online! :) The stylist herself was also very fun to talk to, I remember talking to her a little bit about my personal love life, lols. I've been seeing Julianne for both my own hair and my 7 year olds hair for 4 years! She's incredible i will tell you why. For me, it's took me decades to find someone who actually listens to what i want done and when i ask for what i want done, if it's impossible and something i need to grow into Julianne tells me so. I leave her with exactly what i hope for coming in for a cut. And if you are like me you know how rare that is for 4 consecutive years. My son, well i have taken him into children's salons a few times, and it had never come close to the excitement he has going to see Julianne. I've been seeing Julianne for at least 3 years now and she does everything for me! She does my cut, color and brazilian blowouts. Although I live by west LA, I'll still make the hour long drive to and from union salon to see her! So about my hair--I have extremely thick and frizzy hair but she always manages to make it look amazing, even as the haircut grows out. Also, the brazilian blowouts are a lifesaver. I try to do them a few times a year, especially before I travel because of the unruly nature of my hair, it really cuts down on the time and effort needed to make my hair look at least decent. I found Union Salon South in a search for local salons that offer Brazilian Blowouts. The salon scheduled me with Julianne. I had lots of questions and she answered them all with patience and knowledge. Not only did I get the BB, but had her correct a bad haircut (which was the reason I wanted a BB in the first place.) Products: A huge plus to note is the quality products she uses, the hair color brand she carries is ammonia free, eco- certified and organic and checks so many more boxes in the realm of sustainability and transparency. My wife admitted that her hair has never looked this good and Yvette really took a new approach to this craft and imagined something no other stylist has ever done in over 20 years. I don't know how she did it- the color, the form, the body etc., but let's just say I feel very lucky this stylist was able to work this magic and the most important thing is, she put a permanent smile on my best friends face.
