I had originally booked Mia for my wedding 2017. I specifically asked if she was free on X date, verified it by phone and text before coming in for a trial. ONE DAY AFTER THE TRIAL: after paying for it, taking the day off from work cause it was the only time she was available, she reminds me to put down a deposit and pay. That's fine BUT right after, losing one on a trial, she tells me she got her dates wrong. Are you kidding me?! She tells me she's actually booked a flight back home to Portland, the day of my wedding. But no worries, she canceled and as if that didn't make me upset seeing I specifically mentioned the date 10x before booking. I mean, I feel horrible she had to cancel but if she had just looked at her calendar, I wouldn't be down some trial money. The trial was lack luster so I figured I'll try to see what else she can do by booking more of her for my bridal shower and other wedding events. I got a lot of "not in this day, or booked or so and so." To each their own but I hustle if any of my clients asks me if I can work. At this point, I gave up. Was it because I made her cancel her flight? Was she brushing me off so I can be dissatisfied and she never cancelled her flight? A month out from my wedding and most other people are booked. I was extremely upset. Luckily, this was the only horrible experience of my planning my wedding which is to say, I'm truly grateful for if this was the worst thing that happened. read more

Just wanted to start off by saying that I never write reviews on Yelp, but I felt like I needed to share Mia's work with the world! A little background- I have straight, super fine, virgin hair and was very hesitant about coloring my hair because I was so worried that it would not turn out the way I wanted it to. I did my research and over the course of a few years, I happened to find Mia on Instagram. Let's just say- patience is a virtue!! If you need your hair colored, cut or styled for an event, you have to come see Mia! Not only is she the sweetest girl ever, she's absolutely a perfectionist so she will not let you leave her chair until you're satisfied and she feels she's done her best work. She's a safe cutter and will literally do a 1 inch trim if that's what you ask for. She will never get Edward scissor hands on you haha. I haven't had the pleasure of having Mia color my hair yet (I've never had my hair colored professionally anyway), but she does do all my cuts, and I always get compliments on it and I always love them! I was new to the LA area and had a miserable first experience from a hair stylist I found from yelp. I had asked him to color me a dark auburn. When I left half my hair was a dark brown and the other was a dark red. Feeling incredibly disappointed I went back the next day to clearly show him how my hair was two different colors and asked him to just color my hair all dark brown to try to cover the color differences. That is how I walked into a random salon and asked the receptionist who they thought was their best hair dresser was. They without hesitation handed me a card with the name Mia on it. My first meeting with Mia was one I have never experienced before with a hairdresser. She took the first 15 minutes just discussing what my hair has been through and what exactly I wanted done. She was very thorough. It showed how much she really cared about what I wanted. Although my hair was a work in progress, I not once left Mia's salon without feeling completely satisfied.
