I got a tassel cut from April, which is a popular haircut in Korea. I looked through some of her Instagram photos before making my appointment, and my haircut came out exactly how I wanted it! She was efficient, friendly, and super talented. I felt very comfortable throughout the whole session, and I absolutely loved the result. The shampooing was amazing too, with a really nice little scalp massage that made the whole experience even more relaxing. It honestly felt just like getting my hair cut in Korea. Highly recommend April! read more

I decided I still wanted to leave a review about my experience. This was my first time at this salon, my stylist was Isabel. I clearly asked for a dark brown color, but my hair ended up looking reddish brown instead. It was completely different from what I asked for, the color look really bad on me. However, she kept insisting that it looked "really good" and trying to convince me that I should like it. Super super disappointed! read more

I'm 2 months postpartum and I've been wanting to get my hair trimmed and treated. I had previously highlighted and box dyed my hair to cover whites. Shinae was my stylist and provided great attention and care to my hair. She was able to analyze my hair to obtain the right treatment and color that I wanted. My hair looks healthier than ever and I'm so happy with the results! The vibes were great and relaxing (I almost fell asleep during my wash) and she provided complementary ice coffee. Shinae's the best! read more

I can't say enough great things about Artique Hair Studio in Pasadena! Isabel, the owner and hairstylist, has many years of experience and it truly shows in her work. She's not only incredibly skilled with hair, but she's also an amazing consultant when it comes to choosing styles that actually suit you. She takes the time to explain what would look best based on your face shape, hair type, and lifestyle. What I appreciate most is how much she prioritizes keeping my hair healthy while still making it look absolutely amazing. I never feel like she's just doing a service -- she genuinely cares about the long-term condition of my hair. My boyfriend actually sees Isabel even more than I do -- he goes to her regularly for his perm and haircuts, and he always leaves looking fantastic. She's clearly versatile and talented with different styles. One of my favorite parts of every visit is the shampoo -- she gives the best head massage! It's so relaxing and honestly feels like a mini spa treatment every time. On top of all that, Isabel has such a fun and warm personality while still maintaining complete professionalism. The whole experience feels welcoming and comfortable every time. If you're in Pasadena and looking for someone you can truly trust with your hair, I highly recommend Artique Hair Studio! read more

Went back to Isabel to try a digital perm after getting a setting perm. And I absolutely love it! I love Isabel and all the tips and inputs she gives for a haircut. Throughout the whole process, she walked me through what she was doing and taught me how to manage my hair afterwards. Even though the perm takes quite some time, it flew by with great music and complimentary snacks and drinks while you're waiting. All well worth it! If you're hesitant about trying a perm, go to Isabel! She gives great tips and takes into account your hair texture and type as well as your lifestyle read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I only trust Isabel with my hair, and once again-- I love the result like always. She previously chopped my hair into a bob, and now that it's grown out, I needed texture and shape. Isabel just knows exactly what to do every single time. Beyond her incredible skills, what really sets Isabel apart is how much she truly cares about her clients. She listens, she's thoughtful, and she makes sure you leave feeling confident and happy with your hair. I drive almost three hours to see her, and I would do it again and again without hesitation. Isabel at Artique Hair Studio is absolutely worth it--hands down the best. ‍ read more

Wonderful salon with talented stylists, such a great find off of Lake. Happy not to have to travel to Ktown for a fantastic haircut and thoughtful service. read more

I'm going to preface this by saying I never really liked having hair. I can't take care of it, I literally don't want it on my head, I hate spending money on it, etc. So I've never gone to a hair appointment excited, and I've never left one feeling good. I'm perhaps the least likely to be writing a hair salon review. Meaning, it should speak volumes when I say I followed Isabel three times as she grew through the Koreatown salons and finally opened her own place in Pasadena. When I first met her in 2022, she gave me the most thorough consultation any hairstylist had ever provided. She sat down with me, listened to all of my issues, understood what I needed/why I needed it a certain way, and then--most importantly--delivered. Since then, with every appointment done with the same level of care and attention to detail as the first, she has earned my trust and business. I still struggle with just "having hair" in general, but she helps me keep it manageable. Borderline therapy work, what she does for me. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone, but especially to those of you who share similar struggles with me. I see you. She'll see you. Side note: It helps that her new salon is super cute, with a huge semi-free parking lot and food/coffee options nearby for a little pick-me-up after the appointment! I'm so proud and happy for her for doing her own thing. She deserves all the success. read more

I've visited Artique to see Isabel three times and have been extremely satisfied every time. The salon is clean, cozy, and relaxing. I found Isabel while looking for a Korean-style perm and wanted something low-maintenance before giving birth. She took time to explain curl options, considered my hair type, and exceeded my expectations. The perm looked like I styled it daily and lasted nearly a year, eventually softening into loose waves. Isabel is sweet, knowledgeable, and clearly puts a lot of care into her work. read more

HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this hair salon for all your needs !! I originally saw one of my friends getting her hair done at Artique Hair Studio and decided to try it out for myself -- I first got a full natural hair dye from Isabel, and then went back months later for a bang cut, then a full hair cut. My hair has a lot of natural texture, and it's more thick and wavy than the usual asian hair types, so I'm very picky with my haircuts. Isabel truly listened to my concerns and made my hair the most beautiful it's ever been !! I got a Korean Hush Cut and I've been loving it throughout its entire cut and growth process !! (It still looks good even when it's growing out !!) Isabel has also been kind enough to send me the photos/video of what my hair looks like from the back, and I was able to show it off to all my friends on Instagram !! ^^ Thank you so much Isabel for your amazing work !! I'll be coming back more often !! read more

I booked an appointment for a perm, and I was only looking at Korean places that wouldn't mess up my hair. The service here was exceptional with my stylist checking in on me every step of the way to make sure I'm feeling okay and not having any pain. The service was fast, pain free and honestly one of the best hair services I've had. It was definitely worth the cost. In addition, the store was really clean and it was just like a traditional Korean hair salon - where they give snacks and drinks while your hair is being done. read more

I followed Isabel from Etude. She always provides suggestions considering your lifestyle (how you can maintain the style), your hair type, and your face shape. And I appreciate her honest feedback :) I've gone to her for both a perm and also for just a cut and can fully trust her instincts and expertise. The salon is small but really clean, cute, and modern. Parking is free for 90min in the lot. read more

After a long search for a new hair stylist, I'm so glad I found April. She's such a professional, humble, and down-to-earth stylist who heard out all my concerns and asked thoughtful questions throughout the appointment to really understand what I wanted and how I actually style my hair day-to-day. She gives an amazing shampoo massage, showed me new techniques for my naturally wavy hair, and patiently answered every question and request I had. I've never felt more confident walking out of a salon. Most hairstylists I've gone to have tried to style my natural texture, but I'd often leave the salon with a frizzy-sticky mess of hair full of product and so I'd immediately wash it all out when I got home. This time, I'm dreading the day I have to wash away her work. April has magical hands and an intuitive mind for aesthetics. Will definitely be coming back next time I need a cut! read more

I've gotten my haircut from the director, Isabel twice now and have been super happy each time. I have naturally wavy, thick , Asian hair (2A-2B) and wanted to go to a salon that understood how to best cut and style it--Artique is perfect for this. I've always been a little bothered that the right side had a tighter wave than the left and Isabel fixed it haha. Isabel talked me through her observations of my hair, her recommendations, and made sure the final cut aligned as much as possible with my own vision. I really appreciate how she textured my layers so that all sides are equally wavy! The texturizing also got rid of a lot of weight without sacrificing any volume. Am definitely gonna go back to Artique and Isabel for all my haircuts while I'm in the area :). read more

I got a setting perm from Isabel Won (The owner). Isabel Won is an excellent hairstylist. Not only is she highly skilled at what she does, but she's also communicative, kind, and truly listens to you before starting the process. This is my second time getting a perm with Isabel. I followed her from her previous salon, that's how much I love her work and attention to detail. Her new salon is so cozy and stylish with plenty of parking. Isabel really cares about your hair and includes treatments while going through the perm process (which uses a lot of chemicals). This leaves my curls looking soft, natural and has an overall shine. Her haircut skills are incredible too as she knows how to layer for curls and layer for face framing. I think people get the idea of just how good Artique is and how wonderful Isabel is based on all of the reviews below. The fact that people will follow their hairstylist around speaks volumes! I'm writing my review after my third visit now because I wanted to make my judgment over a longer period of time. And all I can say is that the experience gets better and better each time! Isabel is absolutely amazing! Her skills as a hair stylist are unmatched. She is sensitive to your needs and desires and gives wonderful recommendations based on that. She is also super knowledgeable in all sorts of different styles for both men and women, and is up to date with current trends. The sessions are always super methodical and I always ask if you're satisfied along the way. Isabel is also very nice and makes for pleasant conversations. The interior decor is very modern and clean, and it really feels like a place to get pampered. Like many others, I have followed Isabel through several studio changes so I was very excited for her to have her own space. Since moving to LA, I have tried several salons but only Isabel has impressed my girlfriend, my harshest hair critic. I have been receiving perms and haircuts from her for the last two years and she has consistently delivered. She is extremely attentive and detail-oriented, tailoring her designs to you and your lifestyle, and listens to your input during the design process. It's a liberating feeling to know I can always walk in and not worry about my hair being cut differently from appointment to appointment. As a result, I have comfortably recommended her to my friends, and I will continue to recommend her to anyone who wants to look and feel their best. Even my mom wanted to visit LA to have a perm done by her after seeing my hair during the holiday season. The studio is both clean and modern. Parking is a breeze. As soon as I found Isabel's portfolio on Instagram, I immediately knew I had to make an appointment with her. After having my hair cut and styled by her, I definitely have no regrets. Isabel is friendly, sweet, and professional. After showing her some reference pictures for the styles I usually do and the length I want, she got to work immediately. I have really straight hair naturally so without styling it usually just looks flat and boring. During my appointment, Isabel shared a lot of tips and tricks for styling and maintaining my hair, and I definitely feel more confident in doing my own hair. She also shared a lot of suggestions and ideas for future hairstyles, and I definitely look forward to making an appointment with her again. If you are looking for a stylist who is competent and great at their job, I would definitely say Isabel is the one you are looking for. :) read more
