It was extremely quick and easy to book an appointment, straight from their website. Jenny gave me an excellent cut, and she was warm and welcoming. Such an easy person to converse with. Tim has been doing my hair for many years - I wouldn't go anywhere else. I usually arrive early and get to see him working on, or finishing up, the client before me. He does a beautiful job with color and cuts, and I've seen many of his clients getting beautiful extensions which Tim has already colored to match perfectly with their hair. I waited for 25 minutes for my appointment before leaving, but later it turned out my stylist Karina was there, just working with another client during my appointment time. I was contacted afterward and told that no one was informed of my entrance since there was no one at the front desk at the time. I was offered a 50% discount for a future appointment, but this seems like a general organization and communication error. Since moving to Los Angeles from Orange County, my hair has been starving for some TLC. While perusing Yelp, I felt encouraged by Ecco Hair Studio's reviews, particularly Anna. The positive reviews did not disappoint. To begin with, it is easily accessible from the street in the heart of quaint South Pasadena. Grab a coffee next door on your wait in, don't worry you won't be waiting long. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and poignant. In some hair salons, you always have to be careful of the stuck up, "too good for you" air, however Ecco exudes quality and warmth. The space is surprisingly expansive and well dressed. A salon is truly only as good as its stylists, and Anna was spectacular. Coming from a well nurtured relationship with my previous stylist, I was reluctant to find someone new, but Anna far exceeded my expectations. I thought my previous stylist new my head of hair best, but Anna gave my a luxurious haircut that kept my locks moving without the wind machine (and that's what I like). She is willing to offer any tidbits of knowledge she knows, so that you care for your hair properly, from the round brush, to hair oils... she knows it and has the track record to prove it. I love this salon, Robin is by far my favorite stylist at Ecco. I always make my husbands and my appointments with Robin, she takes the time to listen to what we want, and often times has even better suggestions. She always knows when I'm itching for something different, and helps me out before I try to do it myself and ruin my hair. The salon itself is large and is housed in South Pasadena's first bank. I always thought that was pretty cool. The prices for cuts and coloring is affordable, especially when you consider the zip code. I can't wait for my next appointment, finally getting the last balayage treatment before I leave for Hawaii. The best thing about Ecco is I know I can trust them, and that I am in great hands.
