Visiting from out of town and saw this place as a must visit. I wasn't too keen on the food, but the drinks and the place itself looked good in the pictures. When I first walked in I definitely was mesmerized by the decor. Loved all the decor, theme and ambiance. You have to order at the bar and then pick your table. All of the drinks sounds really good, but I ordered the Mule-I-Corn bc I love Mule drinks and this has a pomegranate twist. The drink itself was ok. It was more on the syrupy side than I wished. Since we already had pland for later I was only able to have one drink. My friend was not a big fan of her drink either (the Americorn) as it was also very syrupy/acidic. But the ambiance and the "arcade" fun area downstairs def makes up for it. Didn't get to stay to play downstairs, but when I go back and visit Seattle I definitely will. read more

Unicorn was poppin' on a Friday night when we rolled up around 8. Nestled in the heart of Capitol Hill, Unicorn was the happening-est place around, based on the crowd inside. We headed downstairs to Narwhal to grab some drinks, but got distracted by the claw machine with... *interesting* prize options. Scanning the menu, everything sounded a little sweet for my personal taste. I went with the Smoke & Mirrors, which was okay but definitely sweeter than I typically like, and I couldn't taste any Jameson at all. I guess that's good if you're a person who likes drinks that don't taste like the alcohol? That's not really me. My friend opted for the The Cereal Killer which to its credit did taste like Froot Loops, but straight up it was like drinking pure milky sugar. Super not my cup of tea. The drinks were a little pricy in my opinion, based on there not seeming to be much alcohol in them. But reasonable with the rest of the neighborhood. We wandered a bit more to take a look at the pinball arcade, photo booth, and all of the other offerings. I don't think it's necessarily my scene, but I do always like when bars have a bunch of different forms of entertainment, for the people like myself who need to be constantly kept busy. This place was a pleasant surprise! We came in while exploring bars and were excited to find out the cool bar upstairs also had a downstairs that was hosting a free drag show. It was decorated fabulously and the drinks were really good. I was SO EXCITED to find an arcade downstairs as well with old pinball machines, an old skeeball game, Pac-Man, frogger, and a photo booth! Hands down the highlight of my evening! I heard people come to unicorn to pregame - and I understand why. Ambiance of unicorn was amazing - kinda felt like Zaun from Arcane on Netflix. Jell-O shots were dangerous, and so was the unicorn jizz cocktail. If you don't like the taste of alcohol then this is the place to go, and it was pretty cheap from what I expected to pay. Our order had 3 mixed drinks and I was so impressed with the bartender multitasking making two different recipes at the same time. They had business and really nailed it. They have a unicorn helmet with horn behind the bar, so it was also a target for many scavenger hunts. Definitely a lively crowd! They have a lot of fun drinks and cool flavors, so it was difficult to choose. I enjoyed the Cereal Killer, which had fruity pebbles flavored vodka! Soooo good! I honestly forgot most of the names but here's what I thought: Cereal Killer - This cocktail was interesting, the prettiest to look at among the cocktails and shots we had all ordered. I don't remember how it tasted, but most of the drinks were fruity and sweet. Unicorn Dog - Glad I tried this, but I personally did not like the combo of flavors and textures. Always a fun time at Unicorn! A great place to go with friends, but maybe don't bring your grandma here! The drinks are delicious (a bit sweet though for warning) and the bartender didn't lie when he hyped up the jello shots! It was something I have never had before. so good! The service is consistently good, and I have never had to pay a cover charge, which is increasingly common in Seattle. The food I haven't tried yet but have heard good things about. But I was hanging with some younger co-workers in a Friday night, and who am I to deny them the experience that is 20-something club life? Decorated with a vintage circus theme, the U is a colorful place with two levels for your drinking pleasure. There's both table service and bar service, depending on where you're sitting. My group and I started on the top floor and ended up moving downstairs as more friends arrived. The lower level was definitely louder and more lively than the upper. While this probably isn't the place I would hang out frequently, it was fun to go and remind myself that I survived my twenties (and then some). read more

This is a really cool and eclectic bar with a very amusing carnival theme. Although when we went, the pinball/arcade area was closed off, I could tell that this was going to be a fun place. Looking at the decor, you'll see a number of mounted animals, carnival attractions and all sorts of fun bits and bobs. You can tell that if this place were running at full capacity, it would be a great time. The drinks on the other hand, are very hit or miss. They have hilarious and very adult names (so I'm not going to mention them here) but I did find them to be way sweeter than they needed to be. Also, the over use of sour mix in one of our drinks was a bit unbearable. Overall, I feel like I would wait to come back here until they have more amenities open again. Their Bloody Mary is delicious! Not just a spicy tomato, but very balanced. The other drinks are very sugary and tasty, if thats your thing. I'm prone to headaches, but the bartender made the Lychee Luck Dragon into a cocktail for me. It was dangerously good and had that yummy lychee flavor, so it tasted very much like a lychee lemonade candy, We came for the drag brunch and skipped the buffet, so I can't report on the food. I will say that the only reason I didn't give them 4 stars is because the service wasn't very friendly and, being from SF/having lived in DC, I have only ever been to raunchy dance centric shows (twerking, table dancing, someone gets pushed against the wall and smothered type deal). This drag bunch is more traditional cabaret and very campy; I thought it was hilarious! I will say, that I wish it had been shorter because I got pretty bored towards the end. So if you're looking for a crazier (re:ratchet) drag experience, then this isn't it. BUT it's a fun time that I think many people will enjoy, especially if it's a first time drag show experience. read more

The decor here is adorable and I was initially so excited to visit here. The crowd full of young techies, or at least all the people that approached me were young techies. Not my vibe but if you are into whimsical drinks, loud music, and phallic shaped helmets then this is the place for you. They have a circus theme. You can find arcade games such as pinball machines in the downstairs area and a claw toy machine. The bar area gets packed and the seating arrangements are limited. I tried their unicorn jizz cocktail and found it to be okay. Not very strong--tasted like a caprisun juice to be honest. The upstairs is more calm and you can find people drinking but also eating food. The downstairs is more like your typical bar/club scene. It gets very packed. read more

I LOVE this place and you cannot claim to have seen bars in Seattle until you visit this one. The drinks are fun and tasty, there are arcade games down stairs, and the decor is awesome. I've been here twice now, once on a friday night and once on a Sunday night. On Friday, Unicorn was crowded, loud, and the ambiance was fun. On Sunday, Unicorn was somewhat empty, you could easily have conversations, and no wait time at the bar. TLDR; two story bar that's usually pretty crowded. Bottom floor has a bunch of pinball games and even a claw machine. I've heard of this place from multiple sources, whether it be online or from a friend. Seems like it's a popular place to start your night, as there was a line already forming outside around 10PM. The first floor has a bunch of seating, tables and booths, with a bar on the left when you enter. As you make your way to the lower floor, it gets more crowded. We didn't fully explore this floor because of how crowded it was but we managed to play a couple of rounds of pinball. There's a change machine and each game takes either a quarter or two. Put more money in at once and you can get bonus rounds. Once we finished with pinball, we moved back to the first floor and managed to snag a table. We ordered the Unicorn Jizz, Capri Sun, and the Pink Flamingo. I didn't catch a name but the bartender that made our drinks was so talented and efficient. She would do bar tricks like flipping the shakers in the blink of a eye. The Capri Sun and Unicorn Jizz were too sweet for my taste. But the Pink Flamingo was pretty good. Tasted exactly like a pink lemonade. They also have a food menu and the pictures of the corn dog looked pretty good but we were too full to order anything. Maybe next time! read more

I love this bar and have been going there for at least 5 or so years. I'm so sad to give this review. The bartenders downstairs were crap. No smiles or personality. I normally am a very big tipper but not tonight. The drag bingo was so fun but I doubt I will be back. The bartender upstairs when I got my food was very nice and helpful. Best bar in Seattle. Most energy, best decor. Their drinks are kind of questionable, they seemed to be mostly some form of flavored Svedka base with a bunch of other fruity ingredients. It was like a pint of sugar. Don't be put off by the price of the cocktails, it's a price for a pint of cocktail. Amazing. I think I did hear others ordering their own plain drinks, not off the bar menu but the bar/drink menu is great. They even have jello shots. I would definitely return if I was ever in Seattle again. They had skee ball, the claw game, and some arcade games downstairs. Ventilation is better upstairs if that is something you worry about. Seats turned over fairly quickly. read more

This is definitely an interesting place. They have unique drinks and weird decor which makes for a nice time. There's no cover which is nice. Also, the bartenders are super nice! Beware that there is a $10 minimum for credit cards but most of the drinks are at least $10 anyways so that shouldn't be an issue. There's an upstairs as well as a downstairs and there is a bar on both levels so getting drinks is a little simpler that way. Another nice thing is that they have water stations with cups so you dont need to ask a bartender for one since it'll probably be crowded. I ordered the unicorn jizz as it's one of their more well-known drinks. I think it was a little too sweet for me and it was okay on the strength level. One friend ordered the cereal killer which I just plain did not like. I made a face when I took a sip and so did everyone else who took a sip. Another friend ordered the smoke and mirrors which was by far the best tasting drink of the ones we got. Would give this place 0 stars if it was possible. The experience was good until the bartender named Hailey said "I'm going to teach you how to speak to a bartender" because we asked for a sprite. When we didn't add extra tip to the 30% gratuity charge that's already added to the bill, she came up to us and cussed us out literally screaming "GET THE **** OUT" and took pictures of us and banned us instead of just apologizing for being rude. Don't come here! Visiting from Cali and walked by this place and decided to check it out and have a drink. Once we walked down to the lower level bar we placed an order for drinks for a party of 4 and the female bartender was rude and unprofessional. When I asked her if she was ok and why she was annoyed with my order she starts giving me attitude and starts to laugh at me. I also asked her isn't this your job to serve customers.....when management approached the situation nothing was done and I was kicked out. SHAME ON THEM! The atmosphere was incredible, soo many things to look at on the walls, the chairs are from old carnival rides, the dildo, sex toy game machine, the cool upstairs and downstairs, the Drag Bingo, I mean I could go on and on, and it was AMAZING! I also had the unicorn droppings & I wouldn't recommend them (basically a plate of whipped cream, with odd dough balls).
