I went today to Uni car auto body and spoke with Garen. We had some minor scratches on our car and other scratches near the front bumpers where we went over some curbs. Garen looked at the damage and came out with a rag and buffing machine and some polish and was able to fix 99.9% of the problem. We have been coming to Unicar auto body for several years. They have always taken really good care of us and to be honest it was refreshing to work with someone like Garen who took care of us and gave us an unbiased and honest assessment of our damage. I offered to pay him cash on the spot. He didn't want any. He gave us an honest opinion of what his thoughts were on our situation and said that most people scratch their front bumpers near their wheel wells anyway and that even if we did get it fixed we will be back in six months to get the problem worked on again. What he could not fix on the spot he gave us a very fair quote and once we get back into our house, which was burned down by the way in Altadena, we'll be coming back to him to fix the scratch on our car. I highly recommend Unicar for any repair work you may be thinking of! I recently backed into a pole and Unicar was the suggested repair location by my insurance. They were able to take my car in the very next day and had their estimate done. Less than two weeks later I already have my car back repaired, and looks like nothing ever happened. Came here through insurance for a rear end damage. Not the friendliest people to talk to on the phone. Got the car back after 2-3 weeks, it looked fine from the outside but when closing the trunk, it sounds like it's hitting something. They also said there was a piece they were waiting for and they would call once it came in. It's been 3 months since the accident and I'm pretty sure we won't be called to come back in. Came here as it was recommended through insurance and the experience was horrible! Needed simple fixes to front bumper, passenger back door and passenger back panel. I was notified 13 days after originally dropping my car off to be repaired. I was informed that it was ready to be picked up and fixes were completed and that I can drop off rental to enterprise and they will drop me off at Uni Car Auto Body Shop. When I arrived I took a look at what was fixed there were paint drips on passenger side door and back panel. As well both license plates were taken off and never put back on. Unsure why back license plate was removed and there was no fix needed in the trunk. Also there was a lot of black rubber scuff marks on front bumper that were not there when I originally dropped off the car. If you make a mess clean the the mess. I was told they would need to simply polish it out and it should be ready the next day. Well it took 8 more days to have my car fixed. On top of this I needed to go back to Enterprise and contact my insurance company to extend the car rental coverage for and extended amount of time due to Uni Car's sloppy job. Took me over an hour to get a hold of my insurance claim adjuster to approve the rental extension. Worst Auto Body Shop Experience EVER! I will never go back or recommend this shop to anyone! read more

My advice is speak to the manager that will be handling your vehicle from the beginning. Initially communication was really poor regarding timeframe for completion of my car. Obviously the parts shortage is effecting so many different businesses and the automobile industry is a big one. I was told that from the beginning but the problem is I was told by personnel in the front office that I would have my car back within the timeframe that my insurance company would pay for our rental car. It took twice as long as what I was initially told due to parts which isn't the fault of this shop but They did a poor job initially communicating with me and managing my expectations. Once Garen got involved who was managing my car, I felt I was getting accurate information. I ended up having to pay out of pocket for a week of rental car costs which was disappointing but Garen split this cost with me so I didn't take as much of a hit. I feel like that was fair given the way that the parts shortage effects everyone. As far as the car goes, it's running fine over a month after getting it back from the shop and I haven't had any problems to speak of. read more
