I go here because it's right near the office I work in for ASU. I can get in and out easily on my lunch break. Everyone is friendly and the place is clean. My reasons for 3 stars is because my massage during my pedicure was awful! It was supposed to be 10 minutes, it wasn't even 5 minutes and it was just super fast and really terrible. I'm very disappointed. could just be this tech in particular though. Glad I'm only paying for the basic and he's not getting a great tip. Also, they don't offer hot rocks or hot towels so if that's your thing then don't go here. I was really disappointed. read more

Well ive been here for a while ago and all I can say is this place is great! I agree that this place is a stop by to get ur nails done kinda thing, but its ok thats what most college girls want with their busy schedule. About the rapid talking stuff I honestly dont think theyre talking about my big feet...im from a family who speaks a different language as well and they just feel more comfortable talking in their language with the others in the store since they have limited fluency in english which i totally understand. If you have any requests with ur tech such as rounded nails or whatever, just speak up and dont let them past it. One day they will realize this is fix their mistakes! :) read more

I must say that I was very pleased with this salon! I called at about 6:30 on a Monday evening asking what time they closed to see if I had enough time to get a pedicure or not. The lady simply said to just come in. I was the only one there and they were very patient with me as I walked in at 6:45 (I did not know that it was 15 minutes before they closed!) I've been going to Uni Hair and Nail Salon regularly for over two years now. All of the nail technicians are efficient, friendly, and really good at what they do. They treat you AMAZING here. This place is super clean. I've always been very pleased with my mani and pedi. The price is also very reasonable. Most of the staff dig in the sides of your toe nails with the clippers which often gives me ingrown toe nails. The services often feel rushed, with the exception of gel glitter manicures which felt ridiculously slow and didn't last very long at all. read more

Uni is the best nail salon. I can relax and enjoy being there. Friendly and skilled nail techs. The location is clean and spacious. I've been to other small salons where a TV was blaring and the air reeked of toxic acrylic nail gel material. Have been consistently protected from such onslaughts when I go to Uni. read more

I see two girls who work there and they are awesome but the organization of the salon is horrible. Prices are never reliable and you will be charged for unnecessary things done to your nails. They have a ton of colors and is convenient for ASU students but the disorganization and unreliability is so frustrating. Plan far in advance for you appointments because they are never on time and yes they may do your nails quickly but it takes them forever to get a person to do them. read more

This place was terrible! The nail techs were rude and inattentive. I came in for a fill, and the woman fixing my nails would drop my hand every five minutes to send texts. She also cut my fingers twice and was very rough. She smudged the polish on my nail as well, and then refused to fix it saying it was my fault! When I walked in, the woman behind the counter told me a fill would cost $18, and the menu said so as well. However I was charged $23. When I asked why the price was different, my nail tech told me "I was confused." I am never coming back to Uni Nails and am highly unsatisfied. read more

Worst place ever !!!! I came once my nails came off within 2 days. I tried giving them a second chance because it's right by my house. This is the nearest nail salon near ASU's Tempe campus besides the one on campus. I got a basic mani for $10. The experience was alright because 1) I left with nail polish on the sides of my finger 2) She didn't let me dry my nails full and by the time I reached into my purse my nails smudge. I'm not sure if they dry regular nail polish with a UV light, but no fan was provided as usual. Eyebrows were $10, I've had better shaping, but was in need for a wax. I would come back for the $10 mani- spend cheap, get cheap, but would go back to my regular salon for my eyebrows- Nail and Wax Time. They have an assortment of gel nail designs, but those aren't really my thing. read more

My nail tech was very nice, but during my pedicure my he cut me a few times. When he went to wash my feet it began to burn. I have had pedicures and never experienced this and I had to ask him to stop it became so painful and he said I had bad feet. I laughed a bit and trying not to sound rude said I think it is from the cuts and he replied with ahhh yes you have bad cuticles. I let him finish the pedicure but I decided to not get the mani. I didn't want to risk it. He was very friendly and possibly new, but I would not go back to them again. read more

I came here for a gel manicure and to get my gel polish removed and redone. I made an appointment and showed up on time. It took another 15 minutes for them to be ready. I specifically requested a color, which I knew they had and the girl insisted on using another-- saying it was the same. I obliged because I figured she knew what she was talking about. The manicure was sloppy and rushed and she was on the phone THE WHOLE TIME. Not only did the polish look terrible, sloppy, and uneven when done, she drilled my nails down painfully and now they are extremely thin and hurt without polish on. The manicure began to chip within 3 hours of having it done. I called and they said that I could come back to get it redone. When I did I was passed between 4 nail technicians who did not seem pleased that I had come back. I will NOT be returning here and I feel like I have wasted my time and money. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. read more

After being a patron at Uni for the past 9 years, I will not be returning after today. The young woman servicing me today misquoted me on the price of my services, services I had not ever had done there before. I asked to speak with a manager prior to paying and the woman proceeded to walk over and start discusssing me with her coworkers, who all began to stare at me. The manager came out to me and I explained to her that I would pay for what I was quoted, the woman had even admitted to misquoting me. The manager went on to say that 'I should know how much things cost and that if I found the same services cheaper somewhere else, I should probably get my services from there'. As I paid and tipped the young woman for the time she'd spent with me, not one of them thanked me. I was dumbfounded that this is how they would treat such a loyal customer, especially after their own admitted mistake. I have been to this shop numerous of times. I was very unsatisfied with the appearances of my services. Every time I visit, a man named Jimmy always do my nails. I always receive services that was unnecessary. In result, I had to pay extra than needed. Even if I asked not to, my commands was not put into consideration at all. I don't understand why every time I return, I am forced to receive service from him. As hard as I try to request someone else, I was refused. I thought that was very unprofessional. I was always forced to do shellac on both my hands and feet, when clearly I don't need it. After he was done I can honestly say I can do better at home myself. Sometimes he wouldn't even finish my services. He would move on to assist someone else and introduce me to his wife. She would finish the rest of the services for him. I was told that it was obvious that she was far more experience than him or anyone else at the salon, but I wasn't sure if it was true or not. I have been here for many years and know everyone that works there, if not I can recognize everyone faces. Once I return for my next visit, I was not greeted immediately. I was left waiting until he was done speaking to his coworkers in Vietnamese. I was concerned if it was about me or not. After waiting, he finally told me it was my turn in 10 minutes. Sadly that was false information. I had to wait for more than a half hour. If I knew I was going to wait for that long, I wouldn't have stayed.
