I was at the mall & stopped into 7 Days Spa & Nails at Tempe Marketplace after my usual spot ghosted me--again. Two months, multiple calls, straight to voicemail. So, with a trip coming up and no time to search, I gave this place another shot for convenience. Everyone was friendly, and I was seated right away. I chose the $65 "7 Day Spa" pedicure--the second most expensive option, mostly for the 15-minute massage. The cheese grater (you know the one) went a little too hard and left me with a tiny cut--nothing dramatic, but not ideal. Then came the massage, and here's where things got... lopsided. My right foot got the full spa experience: deep massage, attention to detail, 10/10. But my left foot? A light calf rub, a toe wiggle, and then back to pampering the right one. I sat there confused, waiting for balance to be restored... but nope. That was it. The tech was kind, and if he'd shown both feet equal love (and maybe eased up on the grater), I might've become a regular. Not sanitary. Good Years ago but they're just money hungry now. And the techs are not good they nip you and get mad at you for it. Nails too thick, they charge extra 20 for gel hands or feet, and unfriendly. I don't mind spending on self care but the service and quality has to be good. I like this place a lot, for their generally solid work and their great prices. You will not find a better manicure for less in the valley. They do regular manis, gel, dip, and acrylic sets/fills. When I had a broken toenail and wanted a pedicure, the tech was able to fix it and make my toes appear even with a little acrylic magic. The thing that keeps them from being five stars is that not all of the nail technicians are great. The location is connected to the shopping area which is nice. It has a lot of chairs for pedicures, this seems to be the main reason people come to my this place. The overall service was good, however the chairs are old and have no padding on the seats. The back massager in my chair didn't work, it turned on and off randomly. When it was time to pay, they ran my card for the service, with a fee to run your card. Which is fine, but they don't allow you to tip on your card but they do have an atm with a service fee (of course) for you to get cash to tip if you don't have cash. I didn't like being forced to pay two service fees to pay for my service and then to get cash to tip. It's 2024, who carries cash anymore?? read more

A pal and I do something together annually, to celebrate our birthdays and general awesomeness. Today, we chose to meet at Tempe Marketplace for a pedi and lunch. Last week , I attempted to make a reservation online for the two of us via the salon's website. The website is not user-friendly at all, and does not allow you to book a reservations for more than one person. I can't tell you how it would have panned out, because I stopped right there and attempted to call. However, no one answered the phone. I noted on Google that it said you can make a reservation, so I requested a reservation that way, and actually received a very prompt response and booked our two reservations for 11:00 this morning. We arrived promptly at our reservation time, and were brought over to some chairs along the back wall. The chairs are quite aged and were tearing. The massage was still too strong, like I previously mentioned in my first review. The weird thing was, I had it off but it would sporadically turn on for one second poke me very violently in the back and then stop. I probably should have taken it as a sign and left. My friend had her pedicurist sit down at her feet, and she took both of our nail color requests and found out which pedicures we desired. We each chose the #3 Special Pedicure for $55 (pedi, callus, scrub, mask, hot. Towel, leg and foot massage). Her pedicure began, and I never got a person. Several times, we asked if I was getting a pedicurist to come over, and we were told that a person to my right was going to come over. However, we noticed that this person had just begun a pedicure on another woman, so there was no way she was going to get to me. So, despite making a reservation, they didn't have enough pedicurists to handle the people, never mind ones who had a specific time booked. As my friend was getting to the polish stage, a lady finally rolled up to me and said hi. She asked again which pedicure I wanted, and tried to pressure me into gel polish and a manicure. I told her I just wanted the pedicure that I chose. It was at that point when my pedicurist was gathering her tools, that my friend's pedicurist realized a mistake. She had already painted the first two toes with her color of choice (251), before she remembered that she did not do the paraffin dip or towels on my friend. She proceeded to remove the polish from the big toe only, and haphazardly stuck her feet in the paraffin bags. While our toes were being painted afterward, my friend got the foam toe separators. I got a furled up paper towel between my toes. That's cute. Cut to the end of our pedicures. We go up to pay, and there is a giant tacky sign that says you must pay for your gratuity in cash. We had cash, but this is super tacky for a business to do. We paid our $110 plus tips for two horrible pedicures (also with no notable massage) and were on our way. The moment she went out of the door, she noticed a huge smudge in her left big toe. I told her to go back inside and have it fixed, but frankly, she didn't want to have to deal with that poor service. By the time we had an extended lunch time together and she headed home, the toe had smudged even more. She touched it and the big toe alone was still wet, and ended up sliding off her toe like it was just silly putty resting on top. This was 3 1/2 hours later! Now I don't know about these things, but I'm sure it had something to do with the ill-timed paraffin dip. Now for an expensive pedicure, we not only had a horrible service, but now she had a toe with no polish. We will never come here again. I reread my first review and was mortified that I even suggested that we come here, meeting halfway between our homes. I would ask for a refunds on our services, but I saw how that went down with the management at another time, as noted in my first review. Just skip this place. She grabbed the list and indeed it was $29. She said, "old list, old price, we no do regular, only gel! Gel better anyway!" And I said no! After her speaking to her boss in Vietnamese, he came over and started to do my nails, I said, no polish, no gels, just a fill!! He was rough, he cut me several times.
