A hand with long, pink, glittery nails and a star sticker on the thumb is positioned in the foreground. The background shows a shiny, speckled tiled floor in a public indoor space, with two people walking away, one wearing dark pants and the other wearing shorts and white sneakers. The scene appears to be in a shopping mall or similar environment.

Toni - was helping do my nails, he did my fill and I asked for a gradient style- he only used two colors and did my nails 50/50 . Then he had another client come in and when I asked him to reshape them he said "no sorry I have another client" then gave me the receipt and did not fix it. I had to ask another associate to help fix it - she was really nice and helped fix it but had to re-do three of the nails he did and the color is still completely 50/50. Not the service or etiquette I deserved. He didn't cut my nails, cut cuticles, or use any oil at all just changed it half-assed and told me next customer.

Not my usual place, came with a friend. Let the artist know my nails are thin severeral times when i first sat down, when she removed the dip polish she used the drill and made my nails so much thinner, like paper thin! I kept asking her not to and saying the drill was getting hot, she left my nails filed so uneven and on an angle... polish over the cuticles... this was the worst decision I made to come here instead of my usually salon in Mesa...

I wasn't originally going to write a bad review, however, this has to be one of the most disrespectful experiences I have had in customer service. I few days ago, three of my friends and I decided to go get our nails done at this location. I am not going to speak for them because all of their nails looked great, but personally, I was unhappy with the results. Going into this appointment, my nails were in fine condition. Sure, my cuticles were a bit dry, but overall I barely had any hang nails or cuts along my nails. I didn't ask for anything fancy, just a regular gel manicure. Immediately after she finished the manicure, there was an abundance of dead skin around my nails (which my friend encouraged me to go ask her to fix before leaving the salon) as well as cuts all around my cuticles. The shaping wasn't exactly great either, but my nails were short going into this appointment so I didn't want to judge too harshly. Even though I was unhappy with the results, I left a tip and left without saying anything about it. For the next couple days, I could not get my cuticles to stop bleeding. I went shopping with the same girls the next day, and the act of simply putting my shoes back on after trying on the clothes made them start gushing blood. I still wasn't going to do anything about it but my mom told me I should go try to get a refund since it was a complete waste of my money. So I went back with one of the girls I went with initially, as her nail chipped and she wanted to get fixed. I walked in and explained to the receptionist what happened and requested a refund. She looked at my nails and you could tell by her facial expression that she also thought they looked bad. She told me to go to the waiting room while she got her manager. A couple minutes later the manager came and looked at my nails. For the five minutes we spoke, she tried gaslighting me into saying that it was my fault that my nails looked bad since I have "bad cuticles." Granted-I have been to multiple nail salons where my nails were in 10x worse shape as they are now (again, they weren't even bad) and the nail tech did a great job cleaning them up as much as possible. She requested to see photos of them right after I got them done, which I luckily had on my phone with time stamps, and she still said that it was my fault. She then requested to see before photos of my nails-why on earth would I have before photos of my nails. After being extremely patient with her, I exclaimed that I wasn't looking for any trouble and that all I wanted was recompensation; not a big deal. She then asked if I wanted a full refund including my tip (which was 6 dollars by the way). Since she offered, I said yes. She finally gave in and went over to fix my friends nail. Turns out that while she worked on my friends nail, she was sh*t talking me the entire time to my friend. My friend said that she was saying things like "your friend is extremely unkind" and "your friend doesn't care about the lively hood of my nail tech." She also was trying to get my friend on her side by explaining to her why it was my fault my nails were in bad condition after the manicure, implying that I inflicted damage on my own nails. Obviously I found out about this after the fact. When my friend and I were checking out at the reception desk, I kid you not she said that I was mean/unkind at least 3 times. She told me that customer service is a hard business and that I wouldn't understand, undermining my intelligence because I look young (I am a freshman in college who has been working in retail since my sophomore year of high school, so I would never go out of my way to upset anyone working in customer service, as I understand it is a difficult job). Long story short, I left feeling guilty, as she had made me feel small and ungrateful-far from the case. And as much as I hate to say it, at the end of the day, the customer is always right. While I am sure many have good experiences, Uni Nails will not be getting my service ever again.

botched $45 manicure - The image shows two hands with neatly manicured nails painted in a light, glossy color. The ring fingers on both hands have small black cross designs painted on them. The hands are placed on a textured, speckled surface, possibly a stone or concrete material. The focus is on the nails and the cross designs, with no additional background details visible.

I liked that this was close to campus, but that's about the only thing I liked. First time I went I had an appointment but was ignored over walk ins. My acrylics did not have a uniform shape and I had to file and fix that myself at home. I gave them another shot today and that was a bad mistake. I got a gel manicure and asked for a simple cross design on my ring finger, which she said she could do easily (I even showed her a picture). The first problem was that she did not do enough coats and my nail tips where the change color were visible through the polish. The second problem was that the crosses looked like they were drawn by kindergarteners with sharpie on my nails. The third issue was that I was charged $45 and sent on my way without any chance to say that they were good or anything. It was not even busy but the staff rushes you every time. Overall, I would not recommend coming here. $45 and an hour down the drain for me to have to find another salon to fix these for me.

My receipt for the experience. - The image displays a mobile app screen with transaction details for a pending payment of $46 to UNI SALON in Tempe, AZ. The receipt includes the business name, location, date of transaction, and a note explaining the pending status. The interface has navigation icons at the bottom for Home, Help, and Profile, and the top shows the time, battery level, and network status.

I came in for an appointment & was told the wait time was 15 minutes. After 15 minutes I was seated for my pedicure and I waited 38 minutes before someone actually came to help me. The massage was great, I don't want to leave that part out. When cutting the cuticle around my toe the gentleman cut me so badly that around my big toe was throbbing in pain and he applied alcohol. The gel on my toes that he injured look horrible. When I pointed out the gel to the tech he said "i can fix it but it's going to hurt you". Then he cut one of my other toenails down so far that my toe was bleeding & I still can't put on a close toed shoe. I can barely step on my foot without striking pain!

The image depicts a close-up of a person's hand focusing on the fingernails. The nails are short and appear to have minor injuries, including small cuts and redness around the nail beds. The skin around the nails shows signs of irritation or minor trauma, with some redness and slight swelling. The background is blurred, emphasizing the focus on the hand and nails.

Update on my review: I left the review like a month ago, and my nails are still in really bad condition. They won't grow back bc it was so damaged. I can not get my nails done for at least three months. Thanks to Uni nails!

I walked into this business last year around Christmas time. I had been contemplating getting acrylics because I have never had them before... as a walk in I was sat at Jeanie's (think I may have spelled that wrong) table. This woman has transformed my opinion on nails all together! She has given me nothing but quality service and is on point and copies ideas to a T! Sad thing is she's stuck with me lol I've been in AZ 9 yrs and just now found a wonderful Nail Tech! Uni is lucky to have her.

Dirt on the bottom of my feet

DO NOT COME TO THIS NAIL SALON!!! I recently moved to Tempe very close to this salon and it looked very nice and trendy so I decided to try it out. I made an appointment and ended up waiting 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment to be serviced. As my nail tech was shaping my nails she cut my skin twice on two different fingers. I let it go because I understand things happen but then when my nails were finished they were extremely uneven and had gel paint on the underneath part of the acrylic. I then got a basic gel pedicure. The paint was done well but I was very unsatisfied when my calluses were not completed to any persons liking let alone my own... dirt left on the bottoms of my feet! I can do it myself but I don't pay $35 for me to have to fix it myself because of plain laziness. I hate to say it but I will be insecure to even go out in public with this disappointing service received by uni nails. Hopefully no body asks me how much I paid because I'm embarrassed to say based off the bad set of nails I got.

It led me to Golden Nails Spa & I had an excellent experience here. You know what I really appreciated? The hospitality. Everyone smiled & was welcoming, from the one gentleman up front to the woman who gave me the pedicure & then the lady who answered the phone. This seems like something super simple, but I've been to nail salons where they are just not NICE. They are there to do the job but do not incorporate kindness & customer service...at a service-oriented business. Many nail techs seem like they REALLY dislike their jobs. And if you question how they're doing something to your hands or feet, or even ask?! They often act insulted. It's a fine line to tread. When it shouldn't be. I chose the VIP pedicure - see the menu! Treatment on my legs: * sugar scrub * hot stone massage * peppermint mask + hot towels * there was no paraffin wax for my feet but these other treatments made up for that Then "regular" stuff for feet: * soaking * cheese grating! * nail trimming & shaping - I asked for filing instead of cutting Thank you to Golden Nails Spa & "Ann" for a relaxing pedicure.
